The Storage is in a seedy part of Sac. I understand why they needed to call three references at 8:00 am on a Sunday to verify my identity.. No Joke! You would think you were dealing with the FBI/ DOJ or INS. Ridiculous to say the least. Glad my stuff was outta there quick as I worried about my personal safety in broad daylight. I moved out of my unit and was unable to use the online move out feature. This resulted in me being charged another month of rent. I called to rectify the situation. The manager (Betty Hay) said that they reversed the charge twice after I called. However, the charge was never reversed, which I confirmed with my credit card company. When I emailed again I received a snippy response saying that the charge was reversed. My credit card company again confirmed that the charge was never received. The manager has now lied to me twice. I will be contesting the last rental charge with my credit card company. I would never recommend U-Haul to anyone.Simon H. | Overall Experience

44th street location is sketchy. There is someone living in a unit next to mine. Unit did not fit a 6×12 trailer contents as advertised. Doors don't fully reach the ground to protect from vermin.Andrea P. | First Impressions
You need new people to oversee your storage facility on 44 street in Sacramento CA. They were never available to assist customers with problems when needed. I had to have 5 padlocks cut off my storage lockers due to someone ruining the locking mechanisms on them from trying to be unlocked without the correct key. I had 24 hour acces to my storage locker until I filed a former complaint with corporate about having locks cutoff. Then Betty Hay made my account for storage un-accessible after 10 pm at night. I was told it cost extra to access my storage locker when I needed to put things in there due to an emergency. So during my move I had to leave things behind in California and continue with to Louisiana without some of my belongings because I could no longer access my storage unit after 10 pm. I am still requesting my refund of $800.00 for the removal of 5 locks from my storage units. I cancelled my unit on line and it said that they would clean it out and they quoted charges on line but then they called and said that they could not do it and I would have to come and take care of it myself. Then all of a sudden my credit card wad charged 50 dollars and when I called they said it was because they cut the lock off. They never give you the right information and then asked if they could charge my card again for 50 dollars to clean out the storage. I agreed because I couldn't get there to do it. The process was rushed and they employee gave me an access card that didn't work. The faculty was offsite so it was very inconvenient to have to return. When we arrived to get buzzed in via intercom it took over 10 mins for someone to help us. We eventually had to be let in by a guest leaving. Betty was very helpful regarding my recent concerns of my storage safety. I'm thankful for her willingness to provide additional security to my storage. I had to travel far to assure the insurance I purchased from uhaul was not a complete loss. My storage was originally in my name but O. Arnold had transferred all storage into her name, without my permission ( which is concerning) . My newest storage b 026 was also placed under O. Arnold's name causing me a huge inconvenience. O. Arnold complained about this matter however she again without my permission gained access to my b-026 storage. I explained this matter to Betty and she quickly secured my belongings by placing Additional lock. I travelled 4 hours to inspect my storage and transfered my b-026 storage into my name. We were given different information from the call center and the actual store site. We were told after three days of rental that the mileage would go from $.69 a mile to $.22 a mile. The call center charged us $57.00 before we even took the vehicle back. My wife went into the actual store and the employee told my wife that it was all good and that actually reaching a 100 miles and multiple day rental the system will take it to $.22 a mile actually giving us a better rate. When we came in to return the vehicle the price was $.69 a mile . The bill came out to a total of $201.00 but we were charged additionally $57.00 and $22.00. We will never use the services again and will let our friends know of our experience. If given the same information across the board I wouldn't have an issues because we would chose if we want to pay or not but to be lied to and charged for it. Be honest! We rent a small truck at least once a month from you. When I reserved for Friday was told it was least expense to do a around town about $70 instead of one way about $80. The closest uhaul to us is on Broadway and that is where I thought we were getting it from. But when the phone call to confirm pick up she said to pick up on 44th. (44th is about 10 round trip away). The lady in charge took about an hour to go through the process of renting the truck, which made us late for our delivery. Then when we drop it off she took about 20 min to check us out --STUPID! Then she charged us $117, she claims we were low on gas and (Which we were not) and the extra miles. Very dissatisfied with U-Haul charging us extra miles to accommodate you, not us. There is nothing like being taken advantage of, late on a Friday night.RENE D.

I would definitely NOT recommend this location. First of all, I called in advance to make sure I have the correct address of this location. All the direction was given is Highway 99 and 47th, however, I am not from the area, when I type that into Google map, a wrong uhaul showed up. I went there directly from airport, after letting my cab go, I realize its not the place.... but this is just the beginning. The gentleman helped me to check out was really nice and absolutely did his best to process my check out as quick as possible however the uhaul system had a bug, my payment wont go through, after trying several times, he had to call his supervisor, the lady, she quickly gave him instruction and problem resolved... however she also commented not willing to rent UHAUL for burning man attendees and asked him to double check the contract. This is already 7:10pm, after their opening hours and the day of festival starts.... She eventually rent the van to me since UHUAL had no policy against renting to burners, I have also heard UHAUL even came up a fantastic masking decal to help burners however the saga is not over. We power washed our van inside out and made sure its as clean as we had it. When my friend returned it, she is not happy and comment, I will never rent anything to you guys for burning man, you do nothing but make my equipment dirty, she charged out additional cleaning fee, additional gas charge, while it wasn't exactly 3/4 when I got the van!!!! honestly, would I care for paying a bit extra if she had being nice? no... but if UHAUL is against renting to burners or, if you the SAGA is against renting to burners, let me know. I don't have to take this attitude and I am sure, there a plenty of nice people who would love to take the business. I need nothing but being discriminated of being a burning man event attendee, especially after we tried absolutely our best, spent 50$ clean up the uhaul in the middle of the night!!! and still got the attitude and being charged extra. I will definitely keep pursuing having the justice...Jing W.
We didn't notice when we rented the trailer dolly - but the tires were completely bald. So bald that you could see layers of tire gone. We really should not have been expected to drive this dolly 3,600 miles!!!Debbie R.
The only thing that I can complain about is that the estimate on how many gallons of gas that would be needed to get he fuel gauge back to where I started at is off. I started at 7/8 and ended at 1/2, accourding to your paper that was given to me, I needed to put in 7.4 gallons of gas. I started to and thought I would check at 5 gallons but the pump turned off and the tank was full. It is a poor way to have someone fill the tank. Miss Hay was a joy to work with and the van/truck was in excellent condition and everything in it worked fine. It was so good that I cleaned out the back of the van better than when I picked it up. Me and my husband have used uhaul mutiple times without a problem,but this was our first time using this location which ended up being the biggest mistake.We rented the uhaul just to pick up a couch 12miles away from a family member and back which only totaled 24 miles give or take 2 miles,which resulted in using less then 1/4 a tank.But when we returned to pick up our depoist, it was short.After questioning the lady at the front desk about why she informed me it was because it was written in we used 50miles and that was an additional $30 ,i was upset and explained there was no way possible that 2 be true and i wanted my money refunded to me but instead the lady just kept questioning about am i sure we didnt go no where else.Which left me clearly offended also Im still waiting for the an manager to give me a call back and fix this problem.Dont ever go to this location,robbery.deon B.

As the Rep began to assist me a lady comes in & says there's 2nd lock on her friends storage. The Rep asked if he could quickly help them & then help me. Thinking it would hopefully take a few minutes he then tells me that I have to stand outside in 103 degree heat because there is product in the office & his manager would be upset with him if he left me in there. Had I known that I would not have agreed to wait while he went & removed the lock. There should be a better way instead of asking customers to go outside in the heat. Not satisfied at all.Lisa W.

The only negative I have was that I was able to choose my location for pickup. The DAY PRIOR to my move I was told that my truck was unavailable. There isn't many places to house a 26' UHAUL overnight. Very inconvenient. Not to mention driving an hour away and back took away from very valuable packing time. Not this locations fault.David B.
