We returned it late at night and there was a homeless person wandering around talking to himself in the lot. Maybe they need a fence with a keypad entry for security.Randol W.
There were things in the truck when we rented it. I believe a homeless person had been sleeping in it. There was a sleeping bag, a bag of clothes and a large cardboard box. When I called in to confirm that I could drop off my Uhaul there, the woman I spoke to was rude. She would not answer basic questions. She simply said, "You can drop it here" over and over but would not answer any questions. I thought I should look for a different facility. Since this location was only 10 minutes from me I went with it to drop off anyway. When I got there, two young men sitting at the desk were as unhelpful as the women on the phone. I told them I am dropping off the truck. They asked for the keys. I said the keys are in the truck. I want you to confirm the gas, mileage, and condition before I leave. And I want documentation of these things and that I turned the truck in. They insisted that was not necessary and that I could leave the truck and go. I refused to do so and insisted that they check the gas, mileage, and condition. They finally agreed and walked to the truck with me and did so. I then asked for a receipt they would not give me one. He said it would be emailed. I said I wanted it now for proof that I turned it in and proof of gas, mileage, and condition. They said it would take 10 minutes if I really wanted that. But that it was not necessary and that it would be emailed to me. I received this questionnaire from Uhaul, but still no receipt. And yes, I did check my spam folder. It is not in my spam folder. I should have stayed and insisted on the printed receipt. But I got so worn down with arguing with your Uhaul staff at this location for basic service that I agreed to leave and let them email me a receipt. I know a lot of people in KC. I will tell them not to use this location. I am now on hold with your 800 number hoping to speak to a live human being to get a receipt.Roben G.

I would have this location by actually having their rental trucks actually clean. There was trash in the side doors and on the floor boards. The truck ate up gas like I have never seen before. I only used it only 3 miles and it ate gas as if I drove it for almost an hour. Somethings is definitely wrong with that. I would also say that when you want to use the app for contact less pickup that it actually works so you don't have to go inside and do everything all over again that you just finished doing online. The truck share process was quite confusing. Evidently there is no drop box for after hours drops (except there is a sign that says 24/7 with some boxes next to it). The â€œprocessâ€ apparently is you are supposed to make another trip to bring the keys back the next day. Why have 24/7 truck share then?Nicholas M.

This U-Haul location is second to none. The employees, who have been there for years, always make it a pleasant experience and bend over backwards to make the customers have a flawless experience. I have rented from other locations in Kansas City and there's always an issue with some part of the transaction. That never happens here. They're the best.mike B.

Location was okay. Rest was tough. Cell signal is hard in that area and the â€œfreeâ€ WiFi was shaky at best. Didn't get to properly check my truck out as the app froze. Not the locations fault, what was the bummer was the rep not being super helpful. Mentioned my confusion and issue and just said well it says it's out. Had to explain again and try to get keys. Okay, but a bummer. Checkin was a disaster. Check in was after close, go through steps and the app states put drop box. Literally no drop box available. Sat outside for over an hour on hold with U-Haul at night. Not great. They seemed confused about no box either. Another customer waited just as long as I did trying to just turn keys in.Chris D.

Bad experience. First I was told my rental must be returned at 8pm even though I had it reserved until 9:30 and needed it for the full time. Then I received a message saying I can return at any time using my phone. I dropped the vehicle off but there was no drop-off for a key. So now I am forced to go back at 7am to return the key. At 0645 the application keep crashing and rebooting when trying to upload my picture, ID, and passport photos. I decided to wait in the parking lot until 0700 when the physical building would open. No one showed up to open the store until 0715. I was then dismissively told by the late employee I needed to keep waiting another 10-15 minute while he opened up the store. Then I was given keys to a truck that had trash in it as well as low tire pressure so I couldn't record the mileage. By the time I finally found and drove the second truck -reserved for 0700- off the lot, it was nearly 0800.Andrew Y.
Equipment had not been cleaned out. There was dried mud inside and outside of trailer. And there were moving blankets strewn inside the trailer from a previous rental. Nobody helped with hook up or to unhook the trailer. This 6x12 trailer had a pretty heavy tongue weight--might have been too heavy. And it was a bear to lift off on and off the ball.Ron M.

The facility was clean, they opened on time and the truck was well maintained. The only issues I had was with the online booking system. I had a truck rented online for 9am-7pm only to be told upon pickup that I only had the truck until 3pm because the website is not accurate, they did not accept after hours returns and that I had no choice but to return the truck at 3pm. The staff are second to none. Always friendly, helpful and happy. Unfortunately I was misguided on the storage rates. I wanted a large unit for my clothes and one wasn't available. So I was assigned 2 smaller units that almost added up to what I needed but way less convenient on separate floors. Then I was charged a rate that was way higher than the large unit I requested and inconvenient as well. So I moved my storage to someone who gave 2 smaller units on the same floor while I wait for a large unit to become available and am being charged the rate that I would be paying for what I requested until that size comes available. The stall that was given to me was still full and he moved me over to the next stall that he said was larger but it did not look like it to me. And I have to pay more then I was quoted. I am glad it is going to be temporary until I get a larger home and I will be measuring it when I go back. The day staff was extremely helpful. Raquan helped with literally all of my issues, which made the storage process much easier. Nicole made sure that once I was locked out (after 10pm) that my things left in the hallway were stored safely until I returned the next day. The only thing the storage facility needs are larger elevators. My sofa and queen sized box spring had to be carried up 2 flights of stairs which was a painful process. To whom it may concern I rented a truck that was on E they said it was going to credit my money back to me for putting the gas in the truck when I call about my money they said they credited to my account when I checked my account my storage balance was still the same when I rented the truck the very first time they overcharge double charge whatever you want to call it for $92 and some change tell me to call my bank because they credited my money back to my card and my bank said they never did they didn't see any credits of them returning my money and they didn't credited to my account because my balance it never went down and never changed nothing so when they say they're going to credit your money back they don't credit your money back they don't add it to your account none of that they give you the run-around the and they don't give you anything back like they say they do are they say they will so no I will not recommend, not at all.... thanks for your services......SHERONDA G. | Overall Experience

During this time of crisis and uncertainty. My daughter is at university in Kansas City and we live in Canada . It was a rush and a panic to get my daughter home then to hear a day later her school was closing and she needed to be out of her dorm in 3 days .
