Asked the gentleman who processed my rental, who I later discoved was the manager, specifically, if I could drop off the trailed after hours. He told me "No, that is only for vehicles." This I now know if false. You can drop off using the app. I then received a call at 1131am that my rental was due back at noon, or I get charged an extra day, ruining a late breakfast with my wife after long hours on the road. Thanks manager guy. For lying and last minute scam-artestry to make an extra buck. Way to treat your military patrons...on memorial day. Everyone I know will avoid the 10th street location.richard C.

The door handle was broken, couldn't let drivers window down. Radio wouldn't come on, then finally it popped on at the end of the night. Holes in door /floor piece on drivers side. Truck driver's side door didn't have a window handle. The roll up door wouldn't open once we reached our destination. We were inconvenienced for over 15 hours waiting for someone to finally gain entry to retrieve our items. The office then charged my card for the damage their roadside assistance provider did to the vehicle. Although the manager would later reverse those charges, we felt that other considerations should've been made for our inconvenience. Waving the gas fee of $19 was hardly enough. The delay to make our move cost me money professionally as I missed an event that evening while waiting for a service provider who somehow wasn't given our address. I was charged for a dolly when there wasn't one in the truck. I had to explain to them that I had to borrow one in order to move my stuff, but it was the manager Misty word over mines. I call and spoke with Robert with customer service and he stated and put in a report that a dolly wasn't listed for that truck. I was most displeased that my reservation was moved from the Landings location to this location downtown the day I supposed to pick up my cargo van. I did not find out until I arrived at the Landings to get my rental. There was even a cargo van in Landings lot, but they wouldn't give it out, saying someone else had a reservation for that particular one. This was an enormous burden because it messed up my coordination to get dropped off at that location and time. The downtown location was also farther away, causing the rental to be mores expensive due to more miles that had to be driven. I couldn't even make my drop at the Landings location. The van I did get smelled like cigarettes, though that issue cleared up after I rolled the windows down and blasted the AC for a while. Point is, if I make a reservation weeks in advance, in person, at a particular location, that is where I want to pickup and drop off my rental. The first truck they tried to rent me literally had a pool of water sitting in the back of it because the roof was so torn up. The seat was also destroyed and the interior just looked like crap. You couldn't even move the seat forward or backward because the padding for the seat was in the way. They then got me a second truck which was also poorly maintained on the inside with the seats falling apart. It's a good thing I only needed the truck for one day for a quick move. Also the fact that you all doesn't offer delivery of its boxes to any of the surrounding areas is ridiculous because what is the point of getting one of the boxes that can be delivered if you can't even deliver it and I have to pay a separate moving company to deliver it to me.KRISTINA D.

The attendant was rude and not inviting. Barely wanted to speak or open his mouth for that matter. At this point just retire already. Clearly you hate your job. I will go on airport for sure next time. He sat all our stuff that was left on the ground(gallon warter and hat) and never told us anything was in the truck when he returned from checking everything . When we left I just happened to look over to the truck and saw our stuff on the ground smh. Who puts someone's belongings on the ground?? And for that matter not mention it. He could learn a thing or 2 from the Atlanta location. Please send him there for training! The location I picked up at in Atlanta (general storage McDonough) was excellent!! Every employee was so welcoming and friendly to every customer !! And they went above and beyond to make sure my renting experience went as smooth as possible! When I picked the truck up the check engine light was on. It was probably for an oxygen sensor which meant it using more gas. The light finally went off when I got in cooler temperatures. The antilock brake light came on. They didn't give me enough miles to get to my destination and get the truck dropped off. I ended up spending right at 1,000 to move less than 550 miles just for truck and car hauler. I'm not happy with that!!!Micheal B.
When I first arrived at the location to rent a truck, the man at the counter said he was not able to fulfil my request for reservations were not able to be made at store levels. So, he gave me a 1800 number. I left the location and went to another location. They were able to make a reservation but not for what I needed because they did not have it. So I called the 1800 number for which I was able to get a truck that I needed at the ORIGINAL location. Nonetheless, upon my arrival to the store, I was greeted by a nice young man who definitely helped out more than expected considering my previous experience. I was very pleased with the equipment and the return process was ideal for a late-night return. Thank you U-Haul!Abby K.

The problem with the UHaul storage was not the local location, but Uhaul itself. I set up an autopay that NEVER worked - not once did the autopay withdraw funds from my account, try as I might to get it to work. When I called the UHaul national phone number to request help and a refund for a late charge applied despite setting up autopay, the person on the phone refused to help, stating that the fault lay with my bank. They claimed that the funds took a couple more days after the due date to process, which was allegedly my bank's fault. When I tried to have autopay set up for another, earlier date to ensure payments went through on time, I was informed this was not possible. Then I monitored autopay only to find it NEVER withdrew funds at all. I have taken my business elsewhere. While I am a fan of UHaul's trucks and moving services, I was quite disappointed with the customer service I received on this matter calling the national number.Caroline N. | Overall Experience

I went to Uhal to make my pass do payment,the weather was really bad. It was raining so I couldn't use your keypad with my password it was down. Your representative gave me a temporary access card to enter the building I left Uhal shorty to retrieve my unit key from home. When I returned couldn't open my unit because there was still a lock on it hours later after I made my past do payment. Having walked in the rain for a employee assistant to remove the lock so I can enter my unit. When I entered the unit I noticed water dripping down the wall of the unit and a puddle on the ground my things where wet. The first month I had the storage unit the sliding door to enter were broken so if I didn't go during office hours when someone could let me in the side door I wasn't able to get in. This was very inconvenient and a bit of a hassle. After a month they finally got it fix. Probably because they were tired of having to let me in weekly. I rented the unit but could not get access to it because the keycard reader was broken. I was told to come back later and ask office staff to let me into the card-gated hallway to access the unit. I was not told the unit number. Office staff were obviously overworked and too busy for pleasantries. These issues are not the fault of the staff, but the fault of Uhaul. Uhaul needs to provide their staff with adequate resources to do their jobs effectively. Based on this experience I will not use Uhaul for future needs, as their pricing does not reflect their ability to deliver on a consistent and reliable product.Justin g. | First Impressions
When booking the space online from out of state, I selected the size I need and a unit that was described as "drive up exterior". When we arrived, that is not what we got. Instead we had a unit that was inside a storage building, at the end of a long & narrow hall, with a pole in the middle of the unit. We refused the unit for these reasons. The associate took us back inside and offered us a larger unit, which we accepted. Although the unit was still inside, the hall was wider and the unit was closer to the entrance. When finishing up the rental agreement at the counter, I was asked if I needed to buy a lock; I said no, I had one. It was not pointed out that a specific type of lock was required. A couple weeks later when we return to get a few things out of storage, there's a second lock on our unit with a tag for non-payment. We go to the office because a payment hasn't even been due yet. We were advised that it was because we weren't using the right type of lock, and that housekeeping would continue to put the additional lock on, and we would have to come during office hours to have them unlock it. We weren't happy about this, but said fine. The next time we came, the additional lock is on there and we are now informed that a charge for the lock has been added to our account. I will take ownership that the agreement requires this type of lock, so I paid the fee for the lock without complaint. However, the handling of this is very poor. Rather than lock a paying customer out of their unit, you should at LEAST call to inform them at the first notice. Also, this should truly be explained up front, as I would not have known the difference in lock styles in just reading the agreement. To wrap it all up, we cleared out our unit on 06/13/20, and followed the online instructions for move out on 06/14/20. The move out was not processed until 06/30/20, when I called because I received notice that payment would be due soon. Overall, we only had the unit for 3 months and it was a bad experience from start to finish with customer service. The unit was clean, secure, and well-lit, but the parking and access to the lot is also not ideal; many times we were stuck waiting for others to move a truck or trailer they were renting/dropping off and causing congestion in the lot.Jennifer H. | Overall Experience
