Made a reservation via the phone. Did not have a problem with making the reservation and they were very helpful. The issue was with the Columbus Store. The individual working the desk was unable to properly read my reservation and charged me the twice the correct rate. We kept asking why it was so expensive and were never provided an answer. They charge us the amount and then I requested them to start the process again since the amount being charged was not correct. It took the individual working the desk 3 attempts to pull up the correct reservation. Now I have to call customer service to get a proper refund since that was not done correctly either. Very bad experience.

Location gave my reservation to someone else. They confused me, Zachary Thompson heading to Starke, FL, on 08SEP, with Dustin Thomsen heading to Pensacola on 06SEP. What should have been a five or ten minute experience took almost an hour as I explained to the staff what they did and that I still needed a truck at the quoted rate.

the truck was clean, but the maintenance is questionable. it sounded like the water pump is going out, if you know vehicles - water pumps make a loud screeching sound when they're not working correctly. of course, there are other possibilities like a belt. I used the mobile pick-up option which turned out to be pointless. once I was at the point of receiving the code for the key box, the key was not in the actual box and I had to go inside for service. inside the store, none of your team members were there, I was the only person in the building. Another customer came inside and waited along with me. It was 10 minutes before anyone came in to assist us.

This experience with UHAUL was a complete disaster. As if moving is not stressful enough. I ordered a hitch many weeks before the move. I thought I should call the day before my installation appointment to confirm. It was only after *I called them* that THEN I received a call that said my hitch had never come in. They told me on a FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT 4 PM when my installation was supposed to be at 10 am Saturday and my move on Monday morning. So then on a Friday afternoon right before weekend I had to call THIRTEEN SHOPS FRANTICALLY trying to find a hitch. I finally found one three hours away and they held it for me for early Monday morning, so I had to drive three hours there and three hours back to get a piece of equipment I had ordered from Uhaul weeks before. Then I asked UHAUL to do the wiring on Saturday to expedite the process, and they did not. They did it Sunday. Then finally on Monday after my stressful 6 hour drive to pick up the equipment they took a long time attaching it because they decided that THAT was the right time to train another employee on how to attach the hitch. Then finally they attached the trailer and I drove home to begin my move. I opened the trailer and IT REAKED OF OLD GARBAGE. The smell was APPALLING and it took me an entire THREE ROUNDS OF BLEACH to clean it!!!!! To top it all off, the national UHAUL representative had quoted me a discounted rate of $59 for the trailer itself and this location charged me $125. I would not recommend UHAUL or this location to ANYBODY.

Remember to load all the equipment that a customer orders. We had to return to the location to pick up a dolly that almost didn't fit in the car. My only suggestion. Everything else was just perfect. Service was friendly and the personnel was very prompt and professional.

I spent 1 hour in line waiting to complete pick up of the truck after I reserved it the week prior. They did not have the truck I requested and did not notify me. They gave me a 26Ft truck and I had no choice but to take it. They said the truck was 15/16 of fuel when it actually was less than 3/4 of a tank. My rental reservation was made on July 11th to pick up the truck in Auburn, Alabama at the U-Haul Moving & Storage of Auburn at 1301 Opelika Rd., Auburn, Al 36830 on July 26, 2021 at 7:00 am. My reservation was moved to Columbus, GA which created problems for me. In addition, I was not notified of the change until I was at the Auburn store at 7 on the morning of pick up. This is a crappy way of doing business. I will not be recommending the Auburn location to anyone. I also will have to think twice before using U-Haul ever again. Terrible way to do business!

Customer service was the worst experience I have had in a very long time. The customer service representatives have no type of training, very unprofessional and rude. Saying yes sir and yes Ma'am doesn't mean you are being professional. 1. I was told on the phone by a uhaul representative before going to this location, I can use any card as long as it had a visa, MC, AE etc logo. Once there, the representatives told me I couldn't use my bank card because it said debit. (Communication issue) 2. I extended my rental over the phone for another day with a rep from the store. The next morning, I get a call saying they (another representative) didn't know why I didn't turn in my truck yet. During this conversation I extended it for another day, she said ok I'm going to note the account. 3. I get a call that I missed, but a extremely rude representative left a voicemail on my phone which I felt was very unprofessional. If this is how I'm going to be treated when I rent from Uhaul I will not be visiting this location or any locations. Anyone I know will know about this as well.

The proper entrance is difficult to get into, having to make a left turn across two lanes of a fairly busy road. This was after I pulled into the wrong entrance and was told by one of the employees that I need to go around to the other side. Instructions are to pull into the designated vehicle return spot and wait in the vehicle (during business hours). I sat there for nearly 15 minutes without anybody coming to help me with the return. I walked into the store and one of the ladies (neither seemed busy) there walked back with me to finally complete the return, which was uneventful.

Truck was too small for my needs. When I called I told representative I was moving a king mattress, refrigerator (standard width and height) and other items. They said 10' truck is what i needed. Refrigerator could not fit in truck upright and had to be laid down - mattress would not fit in truck at all (too wide and too tall). They also recommended a subcontractor to load and unload truck - they were 2 hours late! Neither of these issues were the location's fault but the fault of the reservationist that took my call.

This truck had a check engine? light on when I rented it and the oil light came on after 50 miles. I added two quarts of oil to bring it up to the lower mark on the dip stick. The truck ran horribly and only got 6.6 mpg. It wasn't a good experience. Truck ID JH2806A is not satisfactory to be rented.

Keisha the manager or supervisor is not customer friendly at all. She doesn't greet the customers m, she doesn't say we will be with you shortly or nothing. She is not a customer people person. I don't understand why some customers they ask me to take photos of and others they don't. The reason for the photos per Keisha is the vehicles aren't being returned. I was not asked for a photo to be taken but the gentleman in line ahead of me this morning from Phenix City Al who rented was asked for his photo to be taken. Yes Keisha was there yesterday and she was helping Audrey with my rental and neither one of them asked me to have my photo taken.

BEWARE!! If you use the on-line reservation service U-Haul may change your pick-up location without asking your permission. My reservation was for Auburn, AL but when I went to pick up the truck they told me it was in Columbus, GA. I had to take the 2 hours to drive there and back even though I really didn't have the time. Very annoying!!

The first month I had the storage unit the sliding door to enter were broken so if I didn't go during office hours when someone could let me in the side door I wasn't able to get in. This was very inconvenient and a bit of a hassle. After a month they finally got it fix. Probably because they were tired of having to let me in weekly. Other that that it was good and if we ever needed to store our belongings again we would consider this location.

One office employee rudely after I backed truck in to unload rudely be told me I had to move the vehicle and Park differently for unloading. The first unit be we rented had a bad roof and was full of water, do we had to rent another dry unit. Could have been a much easier process for the customer.

I rented the unit but could not get access to it because the keycard reader was broken. I was told to come back later and ask office staff to let me into the card-gated hallway to access the unit. I was not told the unit number. Office staff were obviously overworked and too busy for pleasantries. These issues are not the fault of the staff, but the fault of Uhaul. Uhaul needs to provide their staff with adequate resources to do their jobs effectively. Based on this experience I will not use Uhaul for future needs, as their pricing does not reflect their ability to deliver on a consistent and reliable product.
