Just make sure you check the truck that you are given first thoroughly before you leave from the pickup location. In our case, the first truck sounded (from the engine & radiator) like it had problems. The second option was much better and the attendant was happy to let us have that one instead. We did just fine taking it almost 600 miles and packed it to the brim.kevin S.

Fix your website inventory issue and the process for renting things. We reserved a truck and had to go to multiple locations to find it and it wasn't where we said to pick up. We lost an order or plastic crates because of website inventory and online help is useless and was telling me to call different locations instead of helping. Would not recommend this location to anyone.Kyle B.

Service was poor with the GM upon pickup where I felt like my business was not wanted. Also, I had to wait 30min to be able to drop off my equipment before finally unloading it myself. There was no flexibility to when I returned the trailer but I was made to wait long beyond the drop off time to actually return it.Mitch J.
Location is on the corner of a busy street on one side then a narrow neighborhood side street lined with neighborhood cars and trucks. It's very tight to maneuver a trailer and navigating neighborhood traffic at same time on the side street.CHRISTOPHER D.

The online return process was an absolute nightmare!!! Had to restart the process about five times because the web pages wouldn't load properly and also had to take the photos multiple times. I would never recommend this way of checking things in to anyone. Sure hope the website gets fixed before someone else runs into the same issues.Angela L.

The mobile check in was HORRIBLE! Lucky the General manager was there early before the store even opened and saw me struggling and got everything taken care! Will never use the mobile check in again but would use the location!LINDSEY B.

This store (U-Haul) has been the place where I have been treated the worst. This locality is served by its owner, who by the way is a very racist person. He treated me super badly simply because I'm Hispanic; He even treated my daughter's boyfriend badly because he is dark. I notice the contempt that this man has for the Hispanic community and the brown community. They forget that we are not all the same and we are a client who, like any other, is going to pay for their services. I rank it as the worst Roanoke has to offer.Julio O.

Your worker that worked with was very rude and rt with me when I asked if he could look at the truck with me he told me no. Then at the end of his practice speech he told is there anything he could I said yes look at the truck with me but you told me no so then he said ok. He went to t he truck I pointed out things on the truck to him he took a picture he also removed a towing piece off the back of the truck that t he previous renter before me had added to their rental which Iinformed him iif he had not come with me to the truck he would have been aware that it was still on the truck. He started the truck which I thought was with a key then he left when I was pulling off a different worker flagged me down a d said hey here is the electronic key and if he had not caught me in time if had left he and cut the car off I would not be able to start the car again I said wow terrible customer service. I looked at my account and noticed I charged 90 dollars which I know is incorrect I never left town and and returned the truck the same day. I went to the same location 2618 Williamson rd. Roanoke va. 24012 to inform them that some type of error had to be made and if he which his name is Spencer was so rude to me he said he deal with people who lie every day in his location and I said what do I have to do with that, I am just informing you that an error has been made and Spencer said he does not believe me and I should leave he does not want to listen to me anymore and he has call the police for people for less than this to get them to leave to store and Spencer said it is impossible for an error to happen with your company Spencer was very rude to me. I then ask Spencer if he could print out my service so I can see what I was charged for Spencer said no he doesn't have a printer then said he can email so I asked Spencer if he would email it to me has my email Spencer said no I don't know how to send an email receipt then I asked Spencer if he could call his manager and show him how to email and he again said no. I was over charged not once but twice for my rental. When I called they told me they would adjust it and then ended up over charging me MORE than the original overcharge! Took me over 2 weeks to get my refund! They can charge you on the spot but it takes 2 weeks to get a refundâ€¦..NOT! They blamed on my bank but my bank processes credits quickly! Manager called me and was VERY RUDE! Customer service on the 1-800 number were nice but this whole transaction was screwed up! Will NOT go back to this location!Monica S.

The Manager that helped us was professional, courteous, and a wonderful employee. He helped us tremendously as we were in a bind from our truck not being returned on time for us to use. I am a Manger at a large utility, and I would be proud if one of my employees acted like this gentleman. He was there for the week from the Colonial Heights store (we didn't catch his name), but he got us outfitted with a hitch and trailer so we could make our move from Roanoke to Richmond. Please pass along our thanks to him. We also want to thank a lady named Ty (I think) from the Richmond office that we talked to on the phone. We were called the morning of our rental and told the truck that we were supposed to rent was never returned the day before, so we would have to travel 1 1/2 hours to get another one. We could not do this, but Ty helped us find a trailer at the WIlliamson Rd store that helped us reach our objective without too much extra work. Ty and this gentleman from the Colonial Heights store working at Williamson Rd on 6/30 are exceptional employees in our eyes. You should be very proud of them.Gary B.

I rented a truck and tow dolly, the least you guys could do is help getting the car and dolly set up, I'm 62 and can't do things like I used to, that's terrible customer service! I know you don't want to be held responsible but just get the customer to sign a waiverRonald O.
U-Haul has stopped caring about customers. I reserved a truck a month in advance. When I arrived to the original location, they didn't have any trucks. I was then sent to another location and could only get a smaller truck and nothing was offered to offset the time or cost of gas for their screw up.ADAMHOWARD M.
Adequately staff this location so that there is at a minimum SOMEONE around to greet customers. That might allow employees to actually CLEAN the vehicle before re-renting it! Particularly aggravating when I received stern warnings about smoking in the vehicle when I picked it up. Would have been nice if the sunshade had been in place, as the truck was at well over 120 degrees in the cab when I picked it up and took so long to cool down I feared the A/C was not working.Robin H.

The problem was not with the pick up or drop off locations, but with the district offices. We have used Uhaul several times in the past, but this occasion was a terrible experience. We reserved a 26 foot truck and confirmed availability with the local pick up location. We were never told of a possibility that we would instead be expected to drive 91 miles to another state to pick up the 26 foot truck at the last minute. We were offered a 20 foot truck which was too small for our needs, but we accepted as it was last minute. We were never compensated for the inconvenience. I was on the phone with uhaul several times, each time speaking with another person who promised me a discount in order to get me off the phone, which was then reversed when got our final quote. It was never possible to speak with the same individual or even the same district office as I kept getting bounced around from office to office. Nobody was interested in truly helping us, only getting me off the phone. I was promised a call back several times which never happened. I was promised an "action plan" was created on my behalf which I have not received a call back regarding. Not only was this experience terrible, we will still need to rent another trailer to move the items we could not fit in a smaller truck. I will try to make time this week to find another company so we do not need to use uhaul.john H.

My only complaints are that the location that we had scheduled to pick up our equipment called last minute to tell us that they didn't have it. Then when we rescheduled to a different location, they didn't have a truck for us either. So I had to go to a third location to pick up the truck only to find out that the second location was where the car dolly was located... So I had to drive back to the second place with the big truck, get a dolly, and then drive back to the third place to put my car on it. This was the most ridiculous and roundabout way to get equipment... Especially for one person.James C.
This was the worst experience I have ever had with Uhaul. The truck was disgusting it took me over 3 hours to clean the truck and put me 4 hours behind getting to Indiana. Behind the seat of the truck was used as a trash can an was full off trash so.was.the glove box. The floors.were muddy and dirty and it.was caked.in the seats the vents and the floors in animal hair which I am highly allergic too!!! The bed od.the truck.was.covered in white powder that was hard to get out. The manager took this truck from the line where you drop them off and gave it to me without checking it!! I called customer service and they promised me a regional manager would contact me within 48 hours and they never called. When I returned the truck I told them I wanted to fill out a complaint forms and they laughed and said there was no such thing! This is bullshit when I spend a lot of money with you guys and I don't think I will ever rent from you again. NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE OR EVEN TRYS TO DO ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM!!
