I reserved equipment ahead of time and was not told that it was unavailable until after I already was given the keys for my rental vehicle. The truck I was given also had a broken sunvisor that dangled in the windshield. Also receiving and picking up the vehicle was difficult with the desk service. I have really enjoyed using UHaul at other locations in other states, but I would not recommend this spot to others.SARAHEUNJIN K.
This location and the UHaul procedures need to improve. Below is a summary of my four interactions in the last 1 and 1/2 months: 1) First visit to this location in July - the person at the desk was nice but it took me two hours to rent a truck and a UBox. The line was long and the credit card machine was broken. I couldn't tell wat the CC machine was charging me. 2) Came to the location in the end of Aug to pick up my UBox at 4:45 PM on Sunday. The manager was not that nice. Told me that for the UBox, one had to come by 4:00 PM. The forklift operator lady was actually willing to help but could not figure out which container contained by UBox. I had to make another trip. He didn't care that I came from Houston. 3) Before making the next trip a week later, I tried to call the location but was put on hold 3-4 times. So, I got on the website and online chat. After getting disconnected 2-3 times from the chat, the person in chat room booked my UBox pickup for the next day but said someone from the location or scheduling department will call me to confirm. I asked to get that done right away. I spoke to scheduling person and she said that I was all set for next day. 4) After driving from Houston to Austin, when I reached the location the next day, the person at the branch said they could see my request for UBox pickup but my UBox wasn't taken out of the container yet. They wouldn't start the process until I was there. Even after I reached, the forklift lady had to go and get propane to operate the forklift. We waited an hour for that. After she came back, she took out almost 10 boxes out of one container to find that ours wasn't there. Then she worked on the second container and finally found our box. Why do this branch and UHaul not maintain a list of which container contains which UBoxes? And if each container was accessible from both sides and she knew which container, she would need to take out at most 4 boxes to find a UBox. As short-staffed as this location seemed to be, such an inefficient use of employee time seems to be a waste and really needs to be loked at. Overall, my experience with this location was not great. I am not going to get a truck or UBox from this location again. They are close to UT and get a lot of business, but they are not creating good customer experiences. Someone must pay close attention and figure out how to run this location better. It's not that hard!Rajesh A.
ubox was not checked in even though I emptied and returned it several weeks ago. Staff member was very helpful and checked it in so I would not continue to get charged for the monthly rental rate. Understaffed at this location. Poor processes for checking out and checking in with extended wait times. My overall impression is that UHaul is an OLD company, with OLD procedures that may have seemed efficient 20 years ago, but has not kept up with public expectations of efficiency, ease of customer interaction, and service. Staff seems to work hard and overwhelmed by the lack of staff and current procedures repeatedly not followed by others, making their jobs harder and frustrating.Blake V.

I have to undo the trailer from the hitch and park it in a designated area. After that, I went inside the office to let them know that I have done what they asked to do in reference to unload and park the trailer. Then, I asked for a receipt or proof of delivered of trailer and I was told verbally that everything was ok and that will receive an email . Which i did not receive at all. So, the next day I keep on calling to the place and no success. Then, I call Uhaul directly and they were the once who give me a hand.Johnny T.

I had several issues with the mobil pick-up: - the car number was changed but not updated on the webpage (i called customer support but then had to wait 20minutes in line inside) - once I got into the car, the fuel level was not as described. I tried to uploading a picture to the webpage but that didn't work and I has to stand in line for another 20 minutes. All in all, I spend an hour of my rental time just trying to get the car.Alexandra P.

Reserved Puckup truck online, but showed up and assiciate claimed they didn't have any in inventory (even though we saw it in the lot). Associate then tried to rent me a actual van, but system wouldn't let her. She actually quit and another associate helped me. After almost an hour of waiting, I ended up with a 10' box truck hist so I could leave.Murray S.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. The original location I reserved my trailer did not have a trailer to use. They were at least helpful in getting one from another location and they were nice. The SECOND location had the worst customer service I had ever had the displeasure of experiencing. The only helpful and genuine person working was the person who initially hooked up my trailer. When I brought back my trailer (which I had to contractually bring to the same location) they told me I couldn't drop it off there and I had to call customer service. I asked how they expected me to back out and the response was "back it out" and the man just left. I should have just taken it off myself and left it. There was only one way in and I was forced to attempt to back the trailer out onto a busy road with NO HELP! I understand the basic concepts of driving a trailer but I also don't want to hit anything. I was getting visibally upset and frustrated. When I asked the desk person if there was anyone who could help direct me, she said that everyone was busy. (They where all in the back dicking and watching me struggle) thankfully a random person helped direct me. I was on the verge of tears. As I'm driving back home, I'm on hold for 20 minutes to get in touch with customer service to try and figure out where I'm supposed to drop this trailer off. Customer service was very helpful but I had to bring the trailer BACK to that location to drop it off and I was assured they would take it. When I arrive, the girl at the front desk said "we just told you that you couldn't drop off your trailer here". Another worker that the regional service representative spoke to thankfully spoke up and said it was fine. Either way I was not about to relive my experience and was fully prepared to leave that trailer there. He finally took the trailer off and rudly said to back out (and with the tone basically told me to gtfo) . Worst experience ever. I was doing everything I was told and following instructions. I don't understand why that location hates their customers so much. Google reviews not looking great either.Alexandra C.

The online process is cumbersome and ridiculous...requiring 2 calls to verify identity and then it ultimately did not work. Why is truck rental more difficult than renting a car? Then we had to get in a line of 10 people and only 1 attendant was on duty. Each rental took a significant amount of time. It took us about an hour to get to the counter. Then they did not have the van we had rented nor the dolly. They did give us a truck, which was much bigger than we needed and harder to drive. It took about 15-20 minutes to check out even though we had filled out all of the information online. We had a terrible experience and based on that and the fact that the last time we tried to rent a UHaul, they (a different rental location) had no trucks available even though we had a reservation, we will never rent from UHaul again. These rentals are totally unreliable. I simply cannot believe this company is successful based on my experience.Paul M.

Crazy busy! Another person on the desk would have helped. As I was being helped, agent was interrupted 3x and had to go move a truck on the yard that was there when I arrived. Site is extremely under staffed. Very busy site and not enough manpower to support customers with only 1 person checking in and completing pickup and only 1 petson receiving the rentals back. I returned same day and had to call multiple times on the day off return and morning after to check why my rental was still in â€œ in useâ€ .status. Finally talked to someone who had to physically go to the key hooks/holders and check if the truck key is back. Only then did they confirm that we can now complete return. Up to this time no final bill receivedâ€¦im sure this is an everyday thing for majority of clients if not allâ€¦.Lawrence D.
Waited in very long line to be told I did not need to wait in line for trailer return as there was someone who handled that. After searching for him finally an employee who was working inside allowed me to return trailer through him while he was getting vehicle for another customer. Took me longer to return a U Haul than it did to move my daughter into apartment. Based on both experiences doubt i will use haul again. I picked up the containers. The first container took 2 hours to pick up because they were not ready. The staff forgot I was waiting so I had to remind them multiple times. One of the two containers did not include furniture pads. The second container was a smoother process but still took 30-ish minutes even though I informed them I'd be back in one hour and was on a very tight schedule.Tommy H.
The gentleman who helped me check in was not very helpful, or friendly at all. He was dismissive, and at times bordering on insulting. He did not care at all to try to provide any good customer service. I had also made reservations for some moving blankets that were not there and he did nothing to help with the situation and basically said "tough". Why make reservations for something if you do not get what you reserved. Also the truck was not at the pickup location I had requested making me drive farther passing multiple other UHaul locations, so this was just annoying.Gilbert M.
The attendant was rude, surly and unprofessional. He was really unhelpful and made me feel like I was burdening him just for showing up to pick up my rental. He made no effort to help me find my truck and was deliberately vague when it came to key issues such as filling the fuel tank. When I asked questions about my insurance coverage he showed a clear lack of knowledge and made it seem like my valid questions were laughable and stupid. If I could give a negative number of stars for this location I would. Also the truck had trash in it and had not been thoroughly cleaned.William D.

I hired moving helpers and they had to wait for my box for over an hour. I had to pay them for an extra hour. The moving help was awesome and luckily he had a little extra time to stay and wait for them to find my box. I had called in the morning and uhaul was aware of when my helpers were arriving to pick up my box. Probably the first and last time I will use ubox. Having boxes ready would be a great way to make your business better and have repeat customers.Susan S.

That is a very crowded parking lot. Limited parking for customers. Navigating a truck in and out of there took a while. I barely got out without hitting another car. The people there were awesome. There is not much they can do with the property. When I dropped off the truck, I wound up not parking it in the best place. This caused more work for the employees, but I was afraid I was going to hit another car if I kept trying to navigate through there.David M.
The general manager was rude, pulled right in front of me when I was trying to leave, got out of his car and made me back up so he could get in instead of just waiting for me to leave. They called me multiple days after I dropped off my uhaul thinking I had never left it, so they seemed pretty unorganized, but they didn't charge me extra so it's fine.Michael C.

Properly train managers and personnel about rules to rent trucks out of town to avoid misunderstanding, time and money wasted for people on budget . I had a horrible experience with Research boulevard location in Austin after I called several times and she directed me to the university of Texas where we found a solution. I had called everyday at the research location to ensure availability. The manager at UT was professional and respectful with so many pick ups on Saturday for which I was not the only client having difficulties. It is very frustratingleonie S.

Uhaul is apparently incompetent at every location. This was the better of the worst. I had so many PROBLEMS: 1. Ordered the uhaul WEEKS in advance. Then go to my SCHEDULED location in BATON ROUGE to be told I didn't have a truck. Was giving no helpâ€¦was told to call a line that brought me to 3 different locations around the U.S. where I finally got help to this location. Meanwhile I need to move to Austin in 24 hrs. 2. Finally moving and I get a blowout and a flat in the uhaul that looked like it never had maintenance before. 3. Now I'm being told I OWE charges for â€œnot filling up the truckâ€ when I got the truck was at E. Barely made it across the street to get gas. Y'all are literally the worst company I've ever.Brett B.
