I had so many issues you would just consider me as a complainer. The mobile app did not work. Had to go to the desk and completely input information again. The windows were frosted so I had to use my hands and elbows to clear the frost. The windows were so dirty I had to clean them myself. The gas tank was empty. Not a quarter tank as shown on the contract. I took a photo of the dash which shows millage and fuel (E) if you wish to see a copy. I'm not making this up. It actually made me laugh. Truck worked perfect and the guy at the desk who checking me in was very helpful. Would I come back? Probably, since the equipment worked great and price was good. If I experienced the same issues again, would not come back. Jim

Single person working there means wait times vary from five minutes to an hour—even if there's no line. No one ever answers the phone because it's too busy—if you want anything, you have to go in person and wait. The people who work there are truly wonderful—this is absolutely not a complaint against them. But this place is so busy and so understaffed that it just doesn't work. Very frustrating.

First off, complications with the mobile check in made it so I still had to wait a long duration to get the truck. Second the vehicle was not parked where the website said it was going to be, so I had to walk around the building in freezing temps. Third the check in person at the desk was rude and unprofessional. Told me that they don't know what the problem is and would not check me in since I had already started the mobile portion. They then refused to go outside because “it was too cold and they had been outside too much.” When finally getting the truck it had to have snow brushed off of it and then to top it all off the back wouldn't open because it was frozen shut from ice. Terrible experience. Terrible service.

I'm not really sure how I got charged on mileage. They asked an estimate but that's it. I paid over $60 for 6 hours. Not sure if my amount gets adjusted or not! I paid $8.95 when I signed up online and then before my actual trip! Let me know how this works!

I feel I was screwed over on gasoline with this vehicle. I understood the gasoline policy when I checked out the vehicle at 9:52am. I drove it for a TOTAL of seven miles and somehow managed to eat up a quarter tank of gas. I stopped at the gas station across the street from the UHaul rental center and put two and a half gallons of gas into the truck. Upon receiving my invoice in my email from you, I saw that I was charged for an additional gallon and a half of gas. So I paid over $10.00 in gas to use the truck for less than an hour and for a distance of 7 miles. What kind of condition are your trucks in if they get such poor gas mileage??? I would honestly think that if I had rented the truck for a longer period of time and greater distance, I would be paying hundreds upon hundreds of dollars in gas.

The one staffer present did a great job, but she was trying to juggle a lot and the experience would have been better for both parties had she had more help.

The employees at this location were not wearing masks, which is a state mandate here in Iowa. The parking lot was extremely dangerous because it was covered in ice. My 61 year old mom actually slipped and fell when we were turning in the truck. The truck was backed up to a giant heap of snow when we arrived so there was no way to check the truck for any damage before we left. We would have moved the truck out a bit and then checked to make sure everything appeared fine, but as I stated previously, the parking lot was treacherous. Our experience here was terrible and the employee that we dealt with at the time of rental had no idea what she was doing.

Only thing was that they didn't tell us that there was not a dolly in it Usually they have dollies and if you use it u get charged if ya don't then u don't get charged This time we needed it and was not in there They should make sure they ask if your going to need one I mean it had the spot for it. No place to park and leave a vehicle if you are renting for a local move. Truck was covered with snow/ice that slid off the top and almost smashed a car behind me. Staff did nothing to be accommodating. I will never rent from this location again. Would pay extra mileage to rent from a different agency.

The first trailer they assigned to me was covered in road salt residue and had dangerously worn tires. The drop off site in Bloomington, MN did not send me an email receipt immediately after the trailer was dropped off during business hours. The next day I couldn't reach the site by phone because the calls were forwarded to the main U-Haul number. After several frustrating calls to U-Haul customer support, the email receipt was sent 24 hours after I dropped off the trailer.

No problems with the transaction, I have rented from this location quite a few times in the past, and never had any issues with the equipment or personnel.

I was told that the amount of gas I needed to return was just below 3/4 of a tank. When I got in the truck it was just slightly above 1/2 tank. I returned it at 3/4 to avoid fees and conflict, but it was not accurate.

I was taken VERY good care of by Terrence Andrews! He hasn't been with this location very long, yet proves to be VERY customer friendly. I reserved the trlr through the app and the pickup process was flawless. Thank you Terrence for making this one of the EASIEST rentals I've had with U-Haul!

our trailer had a really bad tire that we had to stop every 90 minutes to add at least "20 pounds" of air to the tire . We had to stop at least 3 times until we were at our destination. your company people should do a much better check up on these tires than they do.the tire really looked worn.

When I went in there were two employees and neither acknowledged me. I walked up to the counter and a associate offered to help me, he then went to the back, and I waited his return. Another employee came out and asked to help me and when I said I was already being helped, he informed me that the previous employee didn't know how to pull up my reservation. Once everything got finalized, he pulled the truck around. Online it said that an associate would show me the truck and ask if I had any questions. But all I got was a “here you go” and off they went.

I got a call 20 minutes before pick up that my truck was pulled for “unexpected repair” and it was the only one of that size available. I was told I could drive 2 hours to another location to get one, or make multiple trips with a smaller one. Our moving timeline only accommodated one trip. Customer service when I did pick up was short and unfriendly, and I was made to feel like the issue was somehow my fault - no one apologized or owned the problem. Uhaul exists to make moving less stressful. Got the exact opposite.

Location did not have any furniture blankets. I spoke with representative earlier in the week about having 25-30 blankets and she indicated I could add to request during pickup. Again, none were available and I was required to drive to another location to get blankets.

Train your people to properly check trailer installation. Mine was not and when I loaded car in auto transport trailer it fell off the hitch while car was being loaded

The pick up was great but when I dropped off the truck they were busy and the guy didn't have time to walk around the truck and said I was good and that I cold leave. The next day I have and additional charge of $58 for gas on my bill. This charge is completely incorrect. I put 5 gallons in the truck 1 block away from the rental place and only drove it 24 miles during my rental. I have been trying to call the rental location but it alway says their busy.

I didn't feel it was applicable to deduct the rating on a engine coolant leak that the location didn't know about. From my understanding this was a truck was that came in off location and was not aware.

When I called to reserve the truck, was told that I needed to show my Military ID at the counter when picking up the truck to receive the 10% discount. When I did, was told that U-Haul does NOT offer a military discount. Hard to argue over a potential $4 discount, but, this was a huge negative experience for me and it took away from a clean, good working truck, and a wonderful staff at the Bettendorf, IA location. Will think twice before renting another U-Haul, as all rental competitors offer military discounts...

-Assure the equipment scheduled for a specific time is available at that time. -Assure that the equipment is properly inspected and doesn't have one tire that is out of air. (one tire on a tandem tire trailer had no air pressure) -Assure that the equipment is hooked up to the pulling vehicle as required (safety chains are supposed to be crossed and were not).
