The way the trailer was hooked up was absolutely dangerous. I was not allowed to do it as it was the “policy” but the person who did hook it up did it incorrectly. Instead of connecting the chains to the hitch, he connected to small holes in the frame and not hooking the loop back to chain. Very unsafe if something were to happen. He said it had to be done that way because the chains wouldn’t fit. Which was not true and proven at the drop off location. I would never want to use this location again. Absolutely terrible and dangerous

The location I picked up from was great, the employees were all really friendly. My problem is with U-Haul and their website. It’s the dumbest thing that it allows you to select rentals of stuff they don’t have. First I tried to rent from a different location. That was actually near me, and instead got routed to this location that is twelve miles away instead of three. Then, I can’t get the size truck I wanted either. So I decide both of those things are still workable and it’s fine. Then I show up in person and get told there are no rental dollys. Already nothing worked out the way I needed and instead of knowing this when I made my reservation and being able to make a reservation with a different company or find someone to borrow one from, I had to just stick it out because I was already in the middle of picking up the truck on a busy day for the employees. If I could make the choices again with all of the information available I wouldn’t have rented from U-Haul at all. So maybe that’s why the website doesn’t tell you when they’re out.

The best customer service at this location. I had tons of issues with a tow hitch installed from a different location and what mistakes could have put my life and my children’s life at danger were caught by Zack and Katina. Not only did they catch the issues from the other company’s bad install, but Katina went WELL out of her way to make sure that not only would my family have a safe drive back to Washington state by fixing the issues, but Katina stayed late after closing to make sure we could leave by morning as we needed to leave Lubbock ASAP. I will never forget the compassion, understanding, and caring Katina showed me. I am thankful that Zack caught the issue and brought it to Katina’s attention. Zack, Jackson, and Katina are such a blessing to the customers and community of Lubbock. All 3 of them showed me nothing but kindness and compassion. I can only hope that all the U-Haul locations have employees as stellar as they are.

Have more than 1 person at front desk to take care of customers. Outside person never uttered a word to us. We had to guess as to what to do and where to go. Trailer wiring was damaged so we had to switch trailers after already hooking up. Employee pulled wiring off and just walked away without saying what the problem was. Returned several minutes laterwith 6 wiring pieces and connected to another trailer. Still not speaking. I asked if I should move truck to the other trailer and he nodded yes. Did not help with directions to back up. Entire ground was covered with nails, screws , pieces of wire , broken drill bits and welding rods. These potential tire hazards to vehicles and trailers are a sure legal liability to Uhaul.

Complete bullshit. What is the point of a reservation? Didnt have the equipment needed. Bill went from “$60” to extend use of the truck by 3 hours to all of a sudden I was charged an entire extra day, and entire extra day for insurance, was accused of not having gas. Will NEVER use U-Haul again after all of the lies and hidden fees. One angry customer doesn't make a difference, but complete bullshit and paid way more than needed. Thanks for fucking over my move. Worst company I have ever used.

There was a problem with the storage I picked out. It was not uhauls fault. It was mine. I went and rented another one and they credited the other one back to me. Now understand folks It takes up to a week for the payment to be reversed. Other than that it's the only place I will put my storage in.

I had a reservation and when I showed up to pay for the U-Haul it wasn't even ready it took him 2 hours to get my truck out. And it wasn't no $20 charge they charged me way more than 20 bucks. The next morning the parking brake was stuck and I had to call the corporate office because they don't answer their phone at the 34th location, and I literally had to fix the truck myself because it was taking way too long and I'm already late. Poor customer service, overcharged me 100$ and the insurance diddnt cover anything after the dang thing got stolen from me. So now all my stuff is gone, I owe uhaul 1000$. They won't get their money from me. In fact, they owe me for the repairs I did to their unreliable equipment DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!

Thank you for fixing the problemed wiring harness that another UHaul dealer installed incorrectly. Removing the old wiring harness that was shorting out and had caught fire and installing a new one correctly has fixed all my electrical issues I was having with my vehicle.

Office staff was scatterebrained and not able to stay on task. First car transport that was hooked up did not work so had to get another one. Took over an hour to get in & out. The young man that was helping us with hooking up the transport did a very good job.

I booked for mobile pickup at 4pm. After checking in online and going inside I had to go through entire process of showing id again. No keys were in the store for my truck so I was told to find a helper outside. 25 mins later someone finally helped. Had not had time to clean the truck and utility dolly wasn’t loaded and she wanted to see my email confirmation instead of accepting the mobile pick up document. It’s was around 4:40 by time I got off the lot

The online reservation of the trailer could have been more inclusive so that when I arrived onsite to pick the trailer up it could move faster. This process was very time consuming and almost all of it could have been completed online when I set up my reservation so all I needed to do when arriving was to present my ID and pick the trailer up.

Location never has the equipment reserved available at time of pickup. Location is chronically under-staffed. Work ethic is mediocre at best. Often only one employee working the desk. Employees are constantly on their phones and not prioritizing customers. Premise is littered with trash and tools.

Tried to cancel never moved in. Called to reserve online and I was told I could cancel anytime before move in. Daughter needed to check in in Lubbock so I was told I needed to log in and add her as an alternate person. I did that then when I called to cancel was told I could not cancel because I already paid online. BUT we never checked In to get storage unit. I could not get through to the Lubbock location until today and was told by James that Carina would call me back. Still no call back.

I would have rated it better if the facility didn’t accidentally make me sign a contract to a unit that was already in use. I went and resigned with an available unit and let them know when I was finished but was still being contacted about the unit I never got into. There was already a padlock on it and never even opened it or anything. I told manager I was not responsible for anything that had to do with that unit being that I never moved to unit 800 something! It was their fault they had me sign a contract to a unit that was never available to begin with and now saying I owe 900 dollars! Smh

The moving guys they used to load never showed up. (Mr.Moveit). They didn’t even call or would answer their phone. So we were stuck. I was told by you that the first months rent for the storage would be free and it wasn’t. The truck was nice but they did not have the furniture mover equipment that was promised. All in all the package that I was sold was a nightmare. Thanks for giving me a chance to express my total frustration.

I waited for 1 and a half hrs for uhaul to call me back I wanted to know when my trk was due so I wouldn't be late the place where I rented the trk and tow dolly in Louisiana did not get me the complete receipt when I finally got in touch with u haul I was already late it took me 3 and a half hrs to get a driver for my personal vehicle to get to get the trk and tow dolly back to uhaul I do not appreciate having to pay extra because it took to long for someone to call me back

Solo una cosa debería hacerles saber. El candado que ustedes proveen, la llave de este es de baja calidad ya que se me quebró con el uso normal. El metal de la llave es muy blando, incluso el cilindro donde se intoduce la llave no giraba suave cada que abría y cerraba. De hecho tuve que cortar el candado con mi herramienta ya que se quebró la llave y la mitad de ella quedo dentro del cilindro. Y por consiguiente lo reemplace por otro nuevo de diferente marca. Los exhorto a adquirir candados y llaves de alta calidad, y solidos. De ahí en fuera todo estuvo bien! Gracias y buenas vibras!

I received alot of miss information and it was very difficult to reach the front desk. Everything I own was filthy and covered in dirt when I retrieved it and the double charged me on the truck when I moved out. Even though it was returned 8 hours early.

I want to thank the specially thank the manager Katina for her kindness and help. I was having a hard day due to some unfortunate circumstances that had just occurred during my move that made me have to put my property in storage. She was so kind and it help to calm me down. Employees smoked marijuana on premises my storage unit smells of marijuana, employees were extremely rude and the facility is disgustingly filthy... I know its on the bad side of town but doesn't mean it needs to be that bad... I will never use uhaul again because of this facility.. they will not answer the phone when people call.. go ahead call that location.. they won't answer. Also I was stranded for 2 days with a flat tire in uhaul because they would not answer the phone...I cannot begin to explain the horrible time I had using this company...I should be compensated but I don't want to because that would mean I have to deal with the company even more...trash company

I've had 2 different storage units over the past 5 years. No problems there. The process of renting a truck and trailer has always taken well over an hour and/or having to pick up at inconvenient locations. While the staff are polite, the computers are notoriously slow and be ready to wait a long time in a line.

I was going to rent a I uhaul truck to move a two bedroom house and rent a storage just for that . You would think she would have recommended me a bigger storage if I was getting the truck for a two bedroom but no I was not shown the storage space before renting it was just told that it was a 5by something so I got it when I go to deliver my things it wasn’t even enough space for not even one bedroom I called and there was not anything else available so they told me

Upon arriving inTexas and being told we had a storage from our departure point when picking up the 26’ truck, we arrived to then be told jk no storage for you! Then the owner was incredibly rude and argued with me over whether I had a reservation even after I produced the receipt! This move was a nightmare and u-haul didn’t help. While preparing to leave Kansas our car dolly was unavailable (reserved weeks in advance), so we had to make a return trip to get our car. An 8.5 hour drive both ways to pick a dolly and get our project car home! Because of the disorganization of your business it cost us an additional $1000 dollars to move in unexpected gas, hotel, and storage costs! Very unhappy with u-haul and will seek alternatives in the future. The location in Texas did finally get us storage for the free month we earned for the large long distance rental, but instead of the extra large unit we reserved IN ADVANCE we received 2-8x8 units and were barely able to cram everything in. Maybe corporate should step down and manage these franchises more closely. Moving is stressful enough no extra hassle needs to added.

First day of rental- uhaul servers crashed and I was standing in the parking lot with all my stuff. On location staff almost never picks up the calls. Like seriously hire someone to answer calls or invest in a decent voicemail. All 4 loading and unloading carts were missing. When I asked someone for help they took me to the back of the facility and made me drag the cart back to the entrance. Turns out uhaul staff were using it to do maintenance and repair. They only gave me one cart. The remaining 3 carts were not put back for the next three days. I was told that I should get a free uhaul lock. Never received that.

Server crashed. Automatic door doesn’t work. Reservation disappeared when I reached the location. Had to go back and come back the next day. Staff was kind enough to add an extra month - no charge. The uhaul call center staff in Phoenix were very rude. Would always interrupt me. Had repeat the same thing ten times.

Chandler saved the day! Checking out of our storage unit, Chandler was kind and very helpful. Checking in was horrible, whoever helped me was rude, didn’t help at all, didn’t explain anything! After the initial showing up, returning my rental $600 you would think they would be courteous and helpful but it was the opposite! The storage unit itself is way overpriced for what we got, and in poor shape. Chandler at the end was the really only good point. And the actual pick up of the rental in Austin ATX. They were very nice and helpful. We’ve used u haul many times, paid a lot of money to them. Whoever helped me check in to our storage unit should not be there if they don’t want to!

We have stored our college student's belongings at U-Haul every summer. This year, we stored longer due to leaving early because of the Pandemic. Move-in was very easy. Move-out was delayed when we discovered a small number of "baby" roaches crawling around some our boxes and seeming to come from a neighboring unit. I believe the roaches were a new addition in our 5 month of storing items. Just beware that while U-Haul does all it can (spraying for bugs, etc.), storage neighbors may not be as conscientious or even aware they have a pest problem. Our move-out took an extra hour and a half since we went through everything thoroughly looking for "baby" roaches and repacking in vacuum zipper bags.

Brandon was very friendly and so was anyone else we came into contact. The problem was when I 1st rented the unit I told the lady exactly what I needed and the 8x8x6 was not big enough. We also rented a unit that was refrigerated and it was hot in there. So I had to rent a 2nd unit.

Your questions above are deceiving. Of course people can be friendly, but not know what they are doing. The first employee who helped me, could not figure out the computer system. I had to give personal information, and list references for the employee, at least three times. A second employee got involved, and also could not help me because he could not figure out how to list the references properly. Nearly an hour later it was only a third employee, who could finally figure out how to help me and get me out of the store. Quite simply it was the most awful customer service I have ever received at any time at any storage facility in my entire life. The above questions, asking people to rate certain criteria from one star to five stars, does not allow proper evaluation of how poorly my experience went. I am keeping the unit, because it is close to my home and convenient. But if I had the choice I would’ve just dropped the entire transaction, and gone to a different U-Haul location. It was very difficult.

initially could not understand the multiple keypad set up for building entry as it was not clear from the email.

I lost several boxes of possessions to a huge termite infestation. I only used this location for six months. The original reservation for a larger room was not honored, so I had to use 2 smaller rooms, and the infestation occurred in the non-climate controlled room I was forced to use. I have never lost possessions to this kind of damage before in any other storage facility. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

This was the best moving experience I’ve ever had. I feel like I made a great choice in where to store my things. The staff was quick, yet very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone looking for moving and storage needs.

The walls are put together with poorly constructed sheetrock, which was easily broken by a neighboring unit. There's only 1 layer of sheetrock between each unit, thereby making it unsecure. oneuuu

The staff were always very helpful and friendly. The storage unit seemed secure. We did have water come in to our unit somehow and when we emptied it we had to leave a few things out to dry.

We moved out in Feb 2018, continued to be billed afterwards. They lost the key to our unit and we had to call corporate to get the facility to help us and tell them to pay a locksmith! Nightmare!

The facility was always clean outside. However, upon moving out we found dead rats and there was rat urine all over a lot of our furniture & feces on the floor. Ruined some of our furniture and rugs.

Our bill date was the 27, we moved out of the storage unit on the 1st before 3 PM. We were told we wouldn't be billed and it would be waived. They lied and charged us 140$ for three days.

The most frustrating thing was going in person to say I was going to be a couple days late but payment was assured, and then 1 day or 2 days past due getting a very threatening letter about auctioning
