Give clients an explicit verbal reminder to take the truck out of tow/haul mode when it's empty. The truck has a fairly large sticker about this, but I didn't take it in given everything else I was trying to absorb about the truck and getting ready to drive it. Turning tow/haul mode off makes the truck easier to drive and saves fuel. Thanks.

This Ann Yamartino and I accompanied Cyndi to rent the space and was absolutely impressed with everyone who was there We pulled and were a little confused because my daughter was driving the u haul van and we weren't sure where to park, & within less than 2 minutes someone came out to us and helped us park. Every single person we met went over and above for us They took the time to show us all the differnt options and walked us through the process I would definitely recommend them to anyone who asks. My daughter is still selling real estate and has been asked about storage before but couldn't help the customer because she wouldn't recommend a company unless she herself had seen the place and now if asked again she won't hesitate to recommend your u haul in Southborough

We couldn’t get into the lock box and called for help, the first rep that called us back after 20 minutes Ruby hung up on us, the second rep helped us, finally. We were standing in the cold for an hour trying to get into the lockbox. Furthermore, the truck was below full. I had to put 10 gallons of gas in it to go 80 miles. Does that can get 8 miles to the gallon? I don’t think so. The whole experience was bad and I will go elsewhere when I move in July. A total rip off

Overall I had a good experience, I was moving out of a storage unit and renting a truck. I do have to say, this facility is massively understaffed/. The gentleman that helped me was great however he seemed to be the only employee doing all of the tasks - running the desk, checking in and cleaning returned trucks. When I arrived and when I was looking to leave I had to track him down and while I was moving out, the elevator was broken (I got stuck) and we couldn't find anyone to report the issue to

The place and ambience was good, there is only one associate in the morning around 9.15 and was busy with customers.I booked the tail open type truck, the associate provided me the keys and showed me the truck, which is filled with snow of 3-4 inches all around, I had to spend an hour to clean and make it to dry for usage

GM at the facility has no etiquettes and empathy towards customers who drove long to reach the facility. My brother-in-law who booked the U-Haul truck to drive from Canada also booked the storage with it. He used his Drivers license as an ID for the booking. When we were checking in, his ID could not be entered into the systems as it was Canada issued license. It indeed was a poor software used by the facility. Patiently waited for Daniel who was checking in to resolve this. He was unable to resolve and not his fault as it was system limitation. Called GM for help. She tried for 5 minutes and said it is Canadian license which is not US issued and hence it does not work. We do not agree with that as other person either wit US license or Canadian is allowed to book storage, which my brother-in-law did using his drivers license on U-Haul website. Facility system not accepting is not our fault. GM made us feel that we do not know anything. So, we finally gave option of using my license as it was US MA issued. The system was slow and it took further 40 minutes to get us checked in. My brother-in-law just expressed concerns to Daniel that when he can make booking with his Canadian ID and why the system does mot have an option to save the same ID at check in. GM took that offensive instead of taking it as a feedback. She stepped into conversation between my brother-in-law and Daniel without any apology or excuse for interrupting. So, my brother-in-law said he was talking to Daniel and not her. For which, she took her attitude and rudeness to next level and said it does not matter I he want to talk to her not but she will still speak. She even threatened us that she won’t allow Daniel to switch main contact as me from my brother-in-law and will not allow us a place at the storage if we do not listen to her. I know this is going to be read by her. Who are you GM? Is U-Haul storage owned by you or are you GM of the world. You made us wait for 2.5 hours after a long drive from Canada and no apology from you for making us wait so long. If it was not Daniel on that day, you would have taken conversation to next level without our fault but yours. My brother-in-law paid USD 1400 for the entire contract and you threatened him. God save U-Haul storage if it is managed by you. Learn how to talk to customers before carrying GM tag.

The final drop off location is good but the overall drop off experience was horrible. They changed my drop off location 3 times, and the second one was a small shop with no space and they say I can’t drop off there. Don’t think there’s any communication between the different uhauls and they’ll change you to a random location at any time. Had drive around town from uhaul to uhaul until they accept the truck return

You had one person working on a busy Saturday. I spent an hour waiting in line for my reserved truck to the point that you called me to give me grief about having not picked it up yet. You have only one person on and he’s insanely slow. Plus the truck I got had 150,000 miles on it, one door didn’t work and every surface on it was dented broken and shoddily repaired. If it was repainted with house paint and a brush I can only imagine the lack of care for it mechanically. Really bad. You are a billion dollar corporation. Do better.

I return the truck on exactly time i was supost to return on Suynday, but unfortenately the app did not work and I took some picture my self to prove I return on the right time, so left the key, contract on drop box. Tuesday on I got the final invoice, they charge me a extra day, so I called the store and I spoke with the manager, He just did nothing and I still be charged extra,.Horrible customer service, They should look for real managers, nothing somebody who does not take care of simple things like this....

The person working there was fine, I was supposed to pick up the trailer at 8 AM and they didn’t open till 93 different people told me 8 AM was fine which screwed up my whole day and then they charge me $135 for six hours? I’m not real happy about it and I’ve emailed the chairman CEO.

Probably some of the worst service I’ve ever Received at a uhual place/ anywhere In general. I’m driving the extra mileage to never go here again even tho it’s the closest to my house. Took me over 40 mins in total to actually leave and about the same to drop it off again . The employee was by himself running around trying to serve a few customers . Zero help . You can’t hire more help ? You charge $150 per unit… I’ll never come back to this location . And I’ll make sure to tell my friends the same

The place where I was supposed to leave my trailer is on a slight hill. I disconnected the trailer, and it started to roll. I caught it, hurt myself pulling it back uphill, then injured myself again trying to reconnect it to my truck so I could pull it to a flat place. Dangerous.

Fantastic experience, first with the male employee who went out of his way to call me to make sure I didn't lose my reservation because I was over an hour late, then in person with the same very polite and personable male employee. (He told me his sister works there too so I am very glad their family is taking such good care of the U-Haul name and business.) Then when I returned the truck that evening a female employee assisted me who was equally polite, charming, and jovial (and an absolute knockout so, bonus points, but really it was her personality that sold the experience). I can without a doubt recommend this location to anyone looking for a truck, storage, and A+ experience all around. Thank you both!

There is only a concern related with the availability of elevators. There are supposed to be 2 but in reality only one is useful. This has going on over a year. Thus, I would like to encourage to fix the elevator, I suppose expensive fix, as soon as possible to avoid such a frustration!. Thanks

I rented a cargo van on Saturday, October 14th. Returned it the same day around 4:30 pm. Left it in the return lane and went in. One employee there and he was helping 2 other customers. Asked me where I left it. I told him and gave him the keys. Called back a few hours later as I was expecting an email with the final charge. He said he has 8 vehicles to check in and is by himself. He called me the next day and said I didn’t return the vehicle. I told him I did and gave him the keys. Waited all day for that email. Nothing. Called Monday morning and was put on hold for 1/2 hour. Rep finally came to phone and I explained why I was calling and she promptly sent me the final bill via email which was correct. Awesome cargo van, new, big, and clean. Just understaffed which unfortunately I am findind to be the norm rather than the exception. Would do business here again but record myself returning the van and handing the keys to the staff as that call on Subday was disturbing.

The second elevator needs to become operational. You need more staff as many times the sole staff member is dealing with vehicles and no one is in the office. That, or set up an intercom/cell number to call to have some come to the office.

Have more employees working at this location. There was only one employee on shift and he took nearly an hour to help one customer. In this case, the employee should have prioritized the work not based on who arrived first, but based on which customer issue could be addressed more quickly. All I was trying to do was pick up a uhaul I had reserved online.

The staff was as helpful as they could be, but the equipment was not what was promised (quick disconnect and barn doors - I know those aren't guaranteed, but told would not be a problem). The computers were not working well, there was a constant line of customers and management was not on site. The managers business card had the wrong number on it - twice. Apparently they person who actually has that number has been getting complaints for months because people have been texting and calling this wrong number. Daniel the rep on site was doing a great job but it was him and what I can assume was a trainee. They should not be left alone. Horrible, inexcusable treatment of employees by uhaul, which leads to a horrible, inexcusable treatment of customers, also by uhaul. Be better. Renting a box on wheels should not be this hard when customers are trying to do hard and stressful moves. Uhaul should not be yet another pain point for paying, captive customers. Ridiculous.

All of the higher grades were EVENTUALLY true, once Ms. Baez-Sughrue arrived. Before that time I waited in a line of about 10 people - those ahead of me had been there for 2-3 hours (truthfully) just trying to collect reserved trucks or even just the keys from a processed app reservation. I had picked up a truck with ease earlier that morning using the app in Natick and only needed to find my pre-rented storage space. Service was astonishingly slow, run by a solo gentleman who was doing his best but struggling to keep up. He completed every aspect of each order before turning to the next person in line, even if that meant accompanying people outside while they evaluated trailers, or actually cleaning a truck for them. People were yelling for him to just let them take the dirty truck because they had been waiting so long. It was pretty bad. When the manager finally arrived (I believe it was Ms. Baez Sughrue), things moved far faster, but I had been in line 90-minutes before that happened. There was deep frustration among those waiting. After that, the higher ratings above kicked into place. I'm sure things run more smoothly in general, but it was a terrible morning at this facility.

The young lady that checked me in was incredibly helpful and I could not have been more pleased. My only comment is that when you follow the prompts on hour mobile for how to return the vehicle, it takes you through all the steps and says to drop the keys in the drop box. There was no drop box. I went back inside to be told just leave them in the truck. That could have been made more clear.

I had an unexpected remodel to fix a broken pipe under my slab and needed to find storage for items previously stored in 3 closets and 2 bedrooms. I was able to reserve the unit online and start moving things in the next morning. I received an email with the unit number and a security code to the facility. UHaul was conveniently located. The place was very clean, well lit and temperature controlled. There were also security cameras throughout. Finding my unit was as easy and a lock was waiting inside. I moved everything in and didn’t have to think about it. I even found out on my last day that their system wouldn’t check me out because my unit wasn’t secured. I would use them again.

I had experienced mold in my unit but Kazandra was incredibly professional and helpful. She was quick to take action while being empathetic. Most people in my situation sould have left very upset but Kazandra handled the incident with speed, poise, kindness and professionalism. I can see why she's the site's GM and hope she continues to grow her career in a leadership role within U-Haul. Yes, you need to promote her! I know talent when I see it. :)

staff was friendly but not aware of their effect on the customer. I secured a space by phone at 3PM I gave them my credit card and they said the roof was on floor 3 The reservations staff told me I could complete the transaction when I show up later - I told them I would be there after 5 - they said I could get in up until 10PM.- trying to sign in turned out to be a big waste of time I showed up at 5:30 - no way to get a code to get in I was shuffled to three customer service / reservations people, none of whom were aware of the case so each iteration required a complete set of data input. Totally a waste of time and very frustrating after a long drive and long day moving stuff out of my recently deceased mother's home. I did not find anyone with whom I spoke truly knowlegdeble about how the UHaul system worked so we gave up after wasting an hour at the UHaul site and went home with the loaded trailer.. I went back the next day after having had to secure our open trailer full of belongings with a tarp. we checked in (it took another round of torturous data input - why UHaul has such crappy records I can't imagine) and got our room the elevator turned out to be only about 5 feet deep and not too tall or wide - like a small office elevator - two small for our tables. I asked where the freight elevator was - or what size the elevator next tot he one we found working was - no one knew the answer. I then asked the store attendant for another room on the first floor he said he only had 5 x 10 he took me in to look at it - it was only 5 x 8 - so I asked how much the kid said he did not know and we went back to his desk after several long minutes he said it would be 69.99 - I bought it but the invoice said I was charged 79.99 - he could not fix it. we made it work. Had I known I would encounter any of these delays or hassles I would have gone to a different storage company. I called your store to talk to you but got central booking - please - this is not a good way to run anything let alone the biggest outfit of its kind in the country.

Although the online move in was easy and all that, when I got to the facility the Disc lock was not in the unit. When I went into the office to retrieve my lock the guy didn’t know what I was talking about and he wanted me to show him my order he was didn’t even know what he was looking at. I said, what do you need to see? Then he just handed me a disc lock that was randomly on the desk. Which is fine but it was totally weird.

Wrong information was noted at intake and although I corrected info several times it still resulted in incorrect phone numbers, incorrect lead numbers causing my 82-year-old mother to be awakened first thing in the morning several times, and having her contacted when there were problems with the unit. Also, there was a leak in the unit and the damage was underreported to me by the manager. While she said clothes became day, movers discovered water damage to other stored items (I.e. cds and shoes). Overall a VERY disappointing experience. Will never use this particular location again.

From the start of checking in I was upset upon arrival. When booking this unit I was promised a first floor unit which is why I went with this location and this company. Upon arrival I was told no first floor units were available only third floor units. At that time it was too late to change as my uhaul truck was already at the location ready to be unloaded by my movers. I’m addition it took my movers significantly longer to move my truck belongings. This location has no freight elevator so some of my belongings did not fit. And also only 1 elevator was in working condition. For such a well known reputable business I was beyond shocked at everything listed above.

Don’t even know where to start. At least one elevator always broken. Have called the overnight line when the doors were malfunctioning and was told to “fu*k off”. You have 1 person who can do their job while everyone else just sits around. Checkout took almost an hour having 3 people in front of me in line. You tell people dumpster can be used but then say “there’s a change in policy” and won’t update signing. Your prices in store are tagged lower. You refuse to homer the price written on tags but also refuse to edit the tags. Must be nice to be able to collect a paycheck and not do anything. Also, I’ve been there almost everyday the last week. Bathroom hasn’t been cleaned once and the same trash has been overflowing. This place is a joke. For being a “new” facility, it more rundown than most. I have switched to extra space storage and already feel better about the decision.

Not all staff was unfriendly. Luis was very friendly and professional. I can’t say the same for the GM on shift. She was very rude. She had a very disrespectful tone over a question I wanted answered because I was confused about. She also argued with me just because I said rude here. GM asked for a 3rd contact to be verified before I get a storage. I asked if the same address can be used she said no. I then said I don’t have no one else then in a rudely tone she said I can’t rent storage at location. After a few minutes she became friendly.

The facility has Only 2 elevators for 5 floors and ONLY 1 was working! This is not acceptable since there were many people trying to use it. In addition, the A/C wasn't working in the middle of the summer with high humidity. You need to fix these problems at once!

We rented a truck and storage space on 1/28. Overall the experience was ok. My partner and I were shocked at the complete lack of attention from the gentleman working the counter. He did not look up once from his phone when we walked in. And as he was entering our information into the computer, he was scrolling on TikTok as he was typing. We’ve all worked in retail and customer service and I’m fully aware it’s not the most glamorous gig. But this guy was on a next level of not caring or showing an ounce of professionalism. One of the elevators stopped working while we were moving in and another customer went up to tell him, and he just shrugged. Side note on the elevators; I would think a large storage facility would have big freight elevators.

You people at your rental facilities are amazing. Andy at the Mobil Station in Ashland that I was sent to first and Jamal at your Southborough facility were awesome. The night manager who checked me in at the end of the rental was also exceptional. These are great people who represent Uhaul extremely well and very professionally. Your reservation management system is atrocious. My sons and I had a very tight schedule to move our things from the storage unit to our home in Rhode Island. We wasted over 2 hours because of your horrible reservation system. I called and made the reservation working with a very nice and professional Uhaul representative. I needed a 15’ truck for a one way rental, furniture pads and a hand truck. I received an email with instructions to pick up the truck at the Mobil gas station in Ashland. Andy was awesome and tried several times to help process the reservation. I went in line and repeatedly filled out my data including the photos of my license three times. After the third completion of the forms I received another itinerary to pick up my 15’ truck at your Southborough location. I wasted almost an hour, but I was hopeful we would get back on track since the Southborough facility is only 15 minutes away. We got to the Southborough facility and Jamal told me he had no 15’ trucks only 10’ for one way rentals. He said I could go to your Natick facility to get a 15’ truck. I already wasted too much time in Ashland so we said we would try a 10’. Turns out it was not tall enough and it had no ramp. Jamal said he could rent me a 20’ but it would have to be a return. That’s what we ended up doing. The truck was fine and was actually a pleasure to drive. The people and equipment are great but your reservation and asset management system SUCKS and caused us to waste over 2 hours we did not have to waste. FIX IT!!!!!!

There are 2 elevators. I was told that the broken one would be fixed. I saw no indication of the elevator being fixed. It actually looks like it has not been used. Begs the question; how long has it been broken? Working elevator is loud and incredibly slow. Gets expensive paying movers when you have to wait forever for the elevator.

Found out after move-in that there was a major water/flooding problem on the first floor. I have major damage to my leather sectional as well as another leather rocker recliner. Also damage to two antique bedside tables and a wood storage unit for the living room. Other damage to shoes. Pocketbooks and to now unknown other items in second storage unit.
