Your booking system and especially the app on pickup is absolutely horrendous. The extra information required at pickup is not acceptable. It should be requested earlier in the booking process. Imagine picking up your U-haul at 0400. Who the hell wants to be woken up by a rude (yes he was) customer service guy checking up on you? Who carries their passport with them when doing heavy manual work? No one. What regular office is open at 0400? None!! The entire system is unacceptable. If you want (not need as regular rental companies don't) this info then you need to advise the client earlier. Much earlier. It was an absolute shock to arrive for an 8 am collection (now what if your company is LA-based and I'm on the E coast...?) and you're suddenly fronted with all these unknown requirements, you've been dropped off by Uber to drive a truck. No way to get home and back with a passport...etc. You really need to sort this process out. I'll book and recommend Budget from now on until I hear you've modernized. And yes it was my first time. Katilyn at your Roper Mountain Rd location (Greenville) did her best to save the day. Credit to her.

Had truck for a day in warm weather. Air conditioner did not work at all, blowing hot air only all day. Miserable driving. Other than a high mileage truck that rose very rough, it ran ok. Will probably shop around at other rental places next time before renting at U-Haul.

The staff was usually helpful except on the day that no one showed up for there shift and the buildings were locked so no one could get in. Almost every time I tried to get into my unit the building would have an access issue, as in the key pads wouldn’t work.

None of the equipment I ordered was inside the truck. Had to wait an hour for them to open to get the worst appliance dolly and furniture dolly I have ever seen. Appliance dolly’s wheels were shot and tracks did not turn at all making it impossible to go up stairs. The furniture dolly had two wheels that would not swivel properly making it impossible to steer. Very frustrating experience overall. Moving is hard enough without delays and shoddy equipment.

Please include West Greenville in these reviews as that is the first location we went to as we had chosen a 10 x 10 storage. Obviously too small and they made all the calls including their manager (who was off duty) to get us all set up at east Greenville who couldn't have been nicer. Many thanks to all three locations

The truck assigned to me needs the window handle to be replaced. Your rentals need to be inspected for broken or missing trim parts, as well as test electrical window and locks Operation. You should have two clerks at each location on staff. One for the admin/check-in uhaul rentals and another to handle your storage facility operations. The clerk was flooded with storage foot traffic. She tried multi-tasking between my check-in and a customer who came after me for a storage issue. I believe that she overcharged me while trying to help the other customer.

A relative picked up the van, and they did not give him the handtruck which I had already paid for. It would have taken too long to go back, so we just managed to lift everything. I am hoping they will give me a refund.

In the middle of a rainstorm, the 10’ truck we had just picked up had a battery failure and would not start back up again. Had to return the truck 6 hours sooner than planned so it wouldn’t die again.

We reserved a first floor climate controlled room on 09/28/23. I arrived in Sunday October 29th at 11:50 am. The posted business hours are 9 to 1pm. There was no one there to check me in. I came back the next day and was told my reservation was not available even though Uhaul Corp said it was. I was given two 3rd floor 10x10's instead of a 10x20 1st floor. I refused the rooms and went elsewhere because no Uhaul locations had this size available. Because of your poor inventory handling I lost my free month.

Nobody showed up for work yesterday hat day and I ended up paying my guys for an hour to stand around. Nobody inspected the truck before or after I returned it. The gad tank was half full and the blankets I ordered were not in the truck.

Staff was extremely helpful and went above and beyond what I had expected, and was surprisingly sympathetic to a personal problem I was dealing with and actually helped to ensure that I could get to the other location to drop off my trailer. I am going through the worst time of my life but the generosity and kindness displayed by the facility manager brough tears to my eyes, its amazing there are still people in this world who would help a complete stranger and expect nothing in return. I had the truck for approximately 3 hours and drove it 13 miles. Returned it around 2:00 PM on the 6th but no one was there and the door locked to the office. I left the keys in the dropbox. I was charged for 2 days and an after-hours service fee! WTH!!!?

They didn't check my unit out properly and charged me for the next month, even after I told them I was clearing it out. They called me the next day to confirm I had cleared it out and I said yes, but they still charged me. When I called them about the charge, I was told that I didn't inform them of the move out. I told them 3xs.

Hi, The staff at this location are good people and they are very friendly. My below average ranking is due to a number of factors. First of all, the location is terrible. It is hard to get into and out of, and the parking is often all taken up in UHaul vans. At times when I have needed to get things out of storage, or put things in, I have been unable to park near my unit entrance. Secondly, Swiping in and out, and then having to swipe again at the elevator is tedious. One swipe at the elevator should be sufficient. Third despite prominently advertising climate controlled units, few of them actually are. Fourth, I did not know until I arrived late at night that this location, which I had secured online, would not except my rental truck return because it was out of state. After driving all day, on a holiday, I was directed to another facility 8 miles away. Had I known, I would have rented a unit there instead.

Based on previous experiences, I returned to this location when my home flooded Christmas Eve and I had to put all my belongings in storage. The staff are polite, knowledgable, helpful, and professional. I highly recommend this U-Haul location for storage, supplies, and rentals.

The only caution I would extend to anyone using your facility is the difficulty with the traffic at the intersection of Roper Mtn Road and Woodruff. Equipment and service were great.

I would have liked to have the dolly I requested. It was missing on pickup. It made the work I had to do that much more difficult. I had some large boxes and heavy ones and it was very strenuous to move them on my own, especially with stairs, which is why I had rented the dolly. I guess I would hope the location be more thorough moving forward.

The only concern that I have or comment is that there was no pro-ration explained. The manager said that there is no pro-rating. Even though there were only a few days left, the manager said they do not prorate. I received a prorate when I entered the contract. That information need to be conveyed during the initial stage of acquiring a storage unit. 3/27/23 was my end date.

I was scheduled to return the truck I rented yesterday at 10 pm, my plan was to move my things into the storage unit I reserved yesterday. As I began unloading the truck and moved a few things up to the storage unit the facility locked me out and I was unable to get my things into my storage unit and had to leave my couch, my bed and my vanity next to the elevator out in the open and my bins of clothes next to my actually storage unit inside. The office was closed and no one was available on the phones to tell me what to do. I’m about to go back to the facility now hopefully my things are still there.

I was told that I could drop a one way uhaul at this location, however when I got there to store my items I was told thatI would hv to take my uhaul to another location. I was also td that a lock was provided, however there was no lock, and the office had already closed for the day. It was a huge inconvenience

I am only giving this a poor rating because I rented a truck one day and used 6 miles which breaks down to be replaced around a gallon so to be safe I put a gallon and a half in I then in turn was charged 17 or 4 gallons of gas when I only drive 6 miles!!!!!

I typically do not provide negative input, but the initial reservation over the phone was great. Very helpful young man. Picking up and dropping off we’re VERY unorganized. The facility we dropped the vehicle off at was very dirty and if customers have to come in, that would be a concern of mine if I were in a leadership role at Uhaul. I hope you can use this feedback to make positive, impactful changes. The young man at the storage unit was very helpful. The staff at the drop off center were helpful as well but they should have a better facility to work from. I am sure they are doing the best they can. Thank you

Within two months of renting a U-Haul twice, booking in advance doesn’t work. Apparently you can get scheduled by centralized service, come to the location and they don’t have what you need because the manager has not trained employees how to update storage units and U-Haul trucks for customers. Too bad they have them available but as a customer I can’t get in until it’s submitted in the system. Very poor experiences and causing extra delays in time in finances when hiring labor to move/unpack.

Accounting department needs to be improved. Receiving invoices with a due date within 5-day is not practical. This caused many issues with our account to where we received numerous lien notices over the years that were unnecessary. We resulted in having to pay multiple months in advance to offset the the payment window.

I was robbed of almost a whole month of money during the pandemic. this is not right or fair. I have been doing business here for years, but this will be the last. This place is incredible!!! We tried two different storage locations previously and have been so happy we moved here. We started with a large unit, and gradually reduced to a 10x5. The staff have always been incredible and helpful, the building always spotless and security is fantastic. They are great for truck rentals too, which we have used many times. When I reserved a 5 by 10 there were 2 spots in the building the rep took me to both An no luck was place outside she was unaware no inside storage for bikes so I suffered and billed no help mgt

The only comment I have is the space is extremely tight to drive a vehicle through to get to the back units. There are many signs of evidence where others have hit walls and barriers due to this.

1) your costs are above all others. we now have one twice the size for less than $20. more than what we paid at u-haul 2) the traffic at the Roper Mtn facility is AWFUL getting in and out

Facility is nice, staff is great, hours could be longer for standard access though. I only moved out due to price, I was able to get a larger unit for less cost next door at Extra Space.
