I lived in nyc and not once were we charged for mileage. I come to cohoes NY to rent a Uhaul and we are charged! Maybe the pricing should be universal

I originally called the Albany location for my reservation and I thought it would of been nice if someone told me that I would be going to the Cohoes location over the phone instead of finding out last minute through email. I was told that cargo vans are rare in these two locations. Is this accurate?

At first the Google reviews had me a little worried but everything worked out perfectly. No complaints from me, just wish there was a way to expand the time without an extra fee, that's about it.

I've had a great experience with this location. My only criticism is the hours. I work odd hours, and sometimes I can't get a truck exactly when I need one. If i could start at 3am instead of 9am and everything was above board, i would.

I ordered an appliance dolly which was not on the truck and I had to drive back to get it. The gentleman working credited back the miles when I returned the truck to make up for it.

Did not appreciate that my planned drop off location was changed by the central office after I picked up the vehicle. During making my reservation the alternative drop off location was offered at a $40 discount. This discount was not automatically applied to me when the central office forced me to go to that alternate location for drop off. I had to call to get the $40 discount applied.

The Cohoes U Haul is one of the busiest U haul in the capital district area of NY. But the staff always takes its time to get things correct and they remain courteous and friendly.

I rented a truck for 2 days then was contacted after just 24hrs and told i needed to return the truck, which i did immediately, then uhual proceeded to charge me for the second day even though i only used it an extra 1.5 hrs over 24 hr. Shady

My reservation was for a 24 hr pickup truck share with 630 am pickup. I got to the location and the app said I had to wait until 7 am for the location to open bc the pickup truck share was not working at this location. No one showed up to open until 8 am, an hour after the location was supposed to open. I called the 1800 uhaul number and the rep was unable to get a hold of the location manager while I was waiting outside for an hour and a half. The pickup truck I was given had less than 1/8 tank of gas (20 mi until empty). When I asked about the $50 reservation guarantee, I was told this location does not honor it. Overall a horrible experience.

I had a 7:00am reservation and was at the location 20 minutes early. The location’s stated hours were to open at 7:00. No one arrived at the location until 7:50, 50 minutes after the scheduled opening. I called customer service while waiting outside with about 7 other customers. This delayed caused issues with my schedule and prevented me from completing everything I had planned with the vehicle. Very unsatisfying experience.

The drop off was easy you just had to drive up and someone came out. It was clean but not by any means inviting. He looked at the truck, showed me his cell phone and told me I was good. Not a great way to want customers to come back. All in all I’ve never had the experience within uhaul like I did over the past 24 hours. This is a company I have used for every move and this was by far the worst.

I reserved a cargo van to move a large piece of art, based on the door measurements provided at the Uhaul website. When I picked up the van it was a different model, which has a narrower open width for the rear doors, which would not have worked for the piece I had to move. Fortunately, I was able to switch it to the correct van. But if the facility did not have that extra van, I would have been screwed. Please be aware that not all Uhaul vehicles match the dimensions provide on the website!

I reserved a 10' truck on the website with my debit card. When I went to pick up the truck I was told they don't have trucks at the location nor do they accept cards. I had to go to a completely different location and get cash in order to rent. What is the point of reserving a truck when they don't even have any or take reservation?? I'll use Ryder next time, the shitty truck didn't even have a working parking break.

The location is convenient for us and we eventually got the U-haul we requested, but there was a very long wait and the truck was covered in snow. Other than that, the experience was fine. It was efficient to do most parts online.

It was very busy when I showed up to pick up my rental truck. I waited in line for awhile. There was only one clerk working in the lobby. He was friendly at least.

do a better job at checkout. we call Cohoes but got corporate operator who said she would move our reservation from 8 to 1 and as anticipated, the reservation was considered late arrival and cancelled - wet almost didn't get out truck. This happens aLOT with Uhaul corporate. The peeps in Cohoes however are pretty good tho.

My only concern is that the truck was given to me with only 1/4 tank of gas, so I started by making sure I didn't run out. It would be really nice if they didn't have less than 1/2 tank so renters don't have to guess how far they can go.

Too long of a wait both picking up and dropping off. The size truck I reserved was not available although they did offer an alternative. And this was after I was called 1/2 hour before my pickup time (on my way there) that the truck I reserved wasn't going to be onsite til 2 hours later. I was also contacted 1 week prior that the location I reserved did not have a truck and that I needed to change my location of pickup.

I didn’t receive the text message for returning the trailer until an hour after I dropped it off. I was therefore unable to check it in because it read that I needed to be with it and I was at work. I was then hit with a $21 fee because I didn’t check it in?! Not right.

It cost me 14.97 in gas and I only drove 15 miles. Then it cost me 20.00 because I returned it after hours but it was Sunday and they closed at 600pm. So I paid 75.00 to move 3 pieces of used furniture. And the woman I spoke to on the phone was very rude.

First my move out date is listed at 5/2/2018 when in fact I moved my stuff out 3 weeks prior to this date. I was then charged 2 late fees after my stuff was already out of the unit.
