I bought gas before returning my can. I followed the direction in the contract for how much to buy. It said 1.5 gallons so that’s what I bought. The return agent said I was ‘one tick’ under and charged me $7.50. What a rip off I am furious and will never deal w UHaul again.

This truck needs to be taken out of service. The brakes and steering wheel need major repair. The wind shield wipers did not work. I was literally scared for my life driving. I will NEVER rent from this location again

Stood around for 20 minutes waiting for service. Had to walk back into the shop and ask for help. Three days after drop off I get text saying that the equipment wasn’t returned and it’ll be considered stolen… Apparently the staff didn’t check the trailer in correctly, just the truck… Don’t change the drop off location!!! My contract said Warren, ME. Customer service lady called me a liar because her end did not see the same thing. Newcastle, ME was on my original reservation. Someone tried to change it to Newport (1.6 hrs away) and finally had to settle on Brunswick, ME…still an hour away. Why have reservations if they don’t mean anything? Why have contracts if they’re not binding?

All uhauls are apparently have problems with people siphoning gas. We spent so much money on gas to find out there was a hole in the gas tank that was leaking our entire cross country trip. We finally got a replacement, which was a hassle in itself, just to finally get all of our stuff loaded in the new truck and go fill the tank, wich poured all the gas out of the bottom because the hose was cut. And to make it even better they know its a problem and there is no reimbursement for ANY gas because e don’t have every single paper receipt:)

Trailer hitch install. Outstanding service, smooth sailing from the price quote right through to pick up. Manager Dan Fenohr made it very easy, he was very helpful and my final bill was actually less than the quote as he reconfigured it a bit. Thanks!

Location is obviously understaffed. No one was in the customer service area when I arrived and apparently nobody checked my trailer back in for almost 24 hours after returning resulting in a text message that basically read like an accusation of theft. The experience was far more stressful than it needed to be.

My pickup experience was not very good. No one was in the store when I came in to check out. I yelled out that o was here. When he came in, he looked perturbed. He was put out that he had to check out the van I used. Gas was NOT explained to us when we picked up the rental, and he was defensive when I was surprised I would be charged $15 for 24 miles of usage. I did not feel like a valued customer but someone who was doing it all wrong. Not a great feeling.

Everyone I was in contact with was friendly and helpful. The UHaul communications system (computer) was very difficult to deal with and caused delays in delivery. UHaul did make up for the delay with a refund of delivery charges. I have been told the computer glitch has been remedied. I would use UHaul services again if needed. The UBox system worked very well for our move.

The facilty is nice… above average. The customer service is a big problem. Workers need training. I do understand that the whole world is short staffed but it was more than that. It made the experience very difficult. Extra long wait to speak to staff with no acknowledgement, poor verbal instruction, key card repeatedly did not work and workers clueless to help or even effectively communicate. When I vacated i told them before, talked to them during, and waited to speak directly to someone afterward to assure i was following requirements. Still i was called about a late payment the next month and no one seemed to know i had gone.

Frustrating. Starting mileage on paperwork higher than actual mileage on truck. Less gas in truck than on paperwork. Used less miles than I estimated and they never updated this after telling me they would. All of these little things add up and I paid more than I should have. Details matter and it shouldn’t be on the customer to catch this stuff.

Shouldn't the U-Haul location know when I set up an appointment online to install a hitch on my car? I walked in and told them I was there for a hitch installation and they had to look it up to confirm what I was saying was true. Found that strange.

There was only one employee here and he was super busy. I waited . Ralph was great; professional attentive and apologetic that no one else was around. He was obviously working hard. The experience overall was great. Easy. Clean van. All good.

First truck was dirty and then broke down requiring me to unload and reload the entire contents, replacement truck was dirty too with wet unfolded pads and nasty floor. When mentioned was told by staff that that is was you get for low pay. I did say I was going to be unhappy being charged for two dirty trucks and especially a broken one that I had to reload but then to be charged for two full day's of rental and an added fuel charge really feels like my 10 plus year relationship with you guys isn't worth a dime to you. The customer service is always painfully slow and irritating. There is only ever one person at the register, but he attempts to work with multiple customers at separate monitors at the same time… this has been my experience every time I go to this location. I only go to this location because it’s outside of the city and therefore usually has more equipment and appointments available.

It would be nice if the vehicle I am renting was in the lot vs. Having to walk to it. Although it wasn't a far walk, we were carrying things that would have been easier to transfer from car to truck in the truck was in the same lot. I was surprised by the additional fee for mileage that had not been discussed prior to. I felt bad for the woman helping us pick up the van because nothing g seemed to be working well for her from the credit card terminal to a double booking if the truck, etc.

This was one of the largest and best equipped U-Haul Dealerships I have ever visited. I had the opportunity to briefly speak with the Owner and was very impressed with the scope of the operation. The Owner assisted in providing me with a copy of the original invoice for the truck as I needed a final receipt. Anything you might need for U-Haul moving or storage is available at this location.

The service was great I even got 2 extensions without issue think I brought it in late and the guy didn't charge me for the whole day. Service like that never happens anymore the only thing that happened was when I was moving some of it was in the rain and when the floor got a little wet it had a little funky smell to it but with everything else it definitely made up for it 🙂 ty it was like the 4th or 5th time using this U-Haul and will definitely use them again just because of the friendly service

We rent trucks quite a few times each year. This is the location that we use and will use again. However, this time we left with a bit under 7/8 tank of gas . The tranny failed 4 times and we found ourselves unable to drive as we slowed at a stop sign or red light. Same issue a couple times as we were simply slowing down for a turn or merge. The knob on the drivers side crank window was broken… came off repeatedly and then we’d snap it back on. Check in was handled very well, but return was handled by a cranky management type who tried to rationalize all of the problems. We’ll be back next time but we will be more thorough with initial inspection .

My moving team, Midcoast Moving Solutions, did all the moving. Dan assisted them with the storage unit. I’ve yet to see the climate controlled unit. I know Midcoast Moving Solutions from Topsham do a lot of business at this facility and are very pleased with the management and maintenance.

High moisture in the building caused molding and mildew on a lot of my wooden items. Also random bird feathers were in my unit regularly. The few times I met the staff, Dan stood there and stared at me loading my items as if I was sealing them or living in the storage unit. Very odd interactions but at least the place was always lit and warm. The janitorial staff were always nice

There was issues with the access to the building. The drive up to make the doors work wasn’t clear and there were no carts at the door nearest my unit so I had to park at the other end to have access to carts. Someone was there to help me get in and Otherwise everything was great.

I made a reservation for May 1, 2023. I checked in on May 2 and learned that I had no reservation. Someone who change my reservation to April 30, so it was canceled before I even got there. There were no units available in the climate control area so I had to except an old truck body out in the yard to store my belongings and I am not very happy having been a previous customer. The manager Dan is overworked and understaffed, but tries very hard to keep the place afloat.

My daughter rented a storage locker during her time at college. We were very happy with the facilities. They were secure, well lighted and safe. Additionally, she had the ability to access them at her convenience through automated methods which was terrific. The facility also provided ample carts to help move belongings and wide car bays so that you could load and unload your vehicle inside and in a safe location protected from any weather. I would definitely recommend this facility!

The man in the store was very helpful. They were not aware that the unit I rented was available online yet as they were just creating these spaces. There was no way for me to find it myself as it was not on the map of storage units. It took a very long time to figure out and made me very late. Fortunately the store was open but I had to wait in a long line twice.

Unfortunately, all of the positive aspects of the storage facility, as indicated above, were utterly sullied by the appalling service I received through contacts with the Arizona office. The staff at the storage unit were helpful and professional. I truly wish that their demeanor, accessibility, and positive approach was endemic throughout the entire company. Honestly, the U Haul company on a corporate level needs to step up their game in both communication and customer service, both of which are severely lacking.

It was a great experience until I cleaned out my unit. My monthly contract bills from the 10th of each month. Yesterday (the 20th) I emptied out my unit because I know there is rather long waiting list for these at this time. When I went to front desk the employee asked me how he could help me. I explained I was there to close out my unit and he exclaimed “great we have a long waiting list for these!” I asked if the unit would be prorated since I was turning it in 20 days early and I know that within a day it will be filled again by another Pain customer. He stated that if it had been within seven days of my payment instead of 10 they would’ve prorated me. I asked him if I was indeed correct that my payment was due on the 10th of every month and he confirmed that. So to clarify I turned in my unit 20 days early and have paid in full for that unit. However it will be rented out to someone else who is paying in full with overlapping payments. I am extremely disappointed in that this is the company’s policy and that a shrug is how this is handled at the store level. It is certainly a lesson learned and a story to be told to all friends and family considering storage options. There are many other local alternatives in our area.

The only thing is when we got all our items out of the unit, I went to the front, told them the unit was empty and cleaned out. That was on December 3rd, 2021. A worker was going to go and check it out, I ask if I should stay, I was told I didn’t have to that the unit will be looked at and a email sent to me stating everything looked good. I didn’t get a email, and they called on Dec. 14th stating that they didn’t know we moved out. So someone didn’t do their job that day, 3rd of December.

Had issues with non renters gaining access after hours by trying to pull into 'garage' area, also, someone had been accessing my storages when I was not there, and guy with uhaul shirt went into a different unit one visit, he set off alarm and he shut and locked the door and boogied down hallway (not sure if just posing as employee?)-which does not give security a high rating. Employees were very helpful and accommodating though, which I do appreciate, and areas well maintained. Thank you for helping me through a rough time.

My reservation did not actually hold a storage unit or a truck. I understand this is a issue with the national uhaul system but the staff was not helpful in resolving this issue, causing hours long delays in my moving day plus extra expense. The facility bathroom was disgusting and I did not have access to the building or my unit and this was not resolved until after the office closed for the day. I reported the issue to upper management of the company and it was only then that anything changed. You can do better!

Helpful staff, but person helping me did not know if you pay for a year storage up front, the 13th month is free. His older co worker did. They also need new credit card scanners, as they did not function properly.

I'm so glad I found this specific storage facility. It is immaculately clean and very secure. I felt comfortable storing my treasured belongings here. Due to the pandemic my move was delayed and I had to store everything for an entire year. When I was finally able to move, all my things were in the same condition as when they were packed away a year ago. My appreciation to the owner for such a clean and well maintained facility. The entire grounds and the store/office are also immaculate. I would highly recommend this specific U-Haul facility.

The worst loading/unloading operation I've ever seen - we had to wait more than 30 minutes for one of only 2 spaces to unload. The entry systems where you swipe a card is confusing and we set off the alarm. I'd not recommend nor use this place again. Very few carts were available to push our furniture the long way to our storage cage either. A very bad experience.

Whomever helped me, I think his name was Erik, he was younger probably 20 and was extremely professional, helpful and knowledgable. If I was his boss I would pay him more. He walked us through all your covid precautions and laied down all the ground rules for the storage facility

Daniel Fenohr is the most attentive storage manager I’ve encountered. Totally responsive and a straight talking good person. His facilities are well attended to and he is exceedingly responsive. The staff I interacted with were very helpful. I felt well taken care of and had a full understanding of policies and what I was committing myself to. Would use them again.

We had our sons college belongings in storage at this facility for over a year and Ray and his staff could not be more helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and overall amazing people to deal with. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to every and any family at Bowdoin College that needs a place to store their belongings,

AWFUL!. That manager Daniel of yours is a creep. He personally contacted and threatened myself and father and added unnecessary charges to my account. He then tried to deny my access after payment.

The safety protocols to enter the building are excellent. But, several isles had lights that wouldn't turn on until halfway through the isle leaving a person in a dark situation. That feels unsafe.
