ALETHEA JOHNSON-COLEComputer was “down” staff showed no interest in helping customers. Attitude “ too bad guys - nothing I can do” ( except sit ant talk to coworkers.) I went to Black rock UHaul. Charlene told me “not all the computers are down” She had no trucks available so I went back to Pine St U-Haul. I had to argue with the staff to try all their computers to see if one worked. They told me all computers were down nationwide. After insisting - they tried and one computer worked. I felt the staff was really dissaponted that the computer was actually functiong - and they had to work! If I hadn’t gone to talk to Charlene on Black Rock - I don’t know if Pine Street would have ever called me to tell me they could fulfill my reservation. When I did get someone to open my reservation on Pine St - she was incapable of completing the reservation. An employee still seated shouted information to help her with my reservation. Finally, she reluctantly got up to help the person that was attempting to rent me my reserved truck. My 10:30 reservation was completed more like 11:30. Worst customer experience ever. No one even bothered to say “sorry” for the inconvenience. Any one reading this review - do yourself a favor - go to the Black Rock office. Charlene runs a tight ship. You’ll get good service!

I got stuck in the elevator once and feared nobody would have heard me despite pressing the emergency bell. Eventually, the elevator was back in service. Easy move-out process.

When I took the truck it had less than half a tank when I submitted the get my truck there was no section to change how much gas was left so I went around the corner to move down the block and back to the U-Haul around the corner all in maybe drove a mile. And Paul said he was going to charge me $28 because U-Haul gave me a truck with less than half a tank of gas.

MICHAEL FOLEYOver the past year, I and a team of volunteers I lead have rented trucks and vans from UHaul go Black Rock in Bridgeport more than 50 times, on average once a week for the full year. On every occasion, the rental vehicle has been ready on time, clean and in perfect operating order. And on every occasion, Charlene and her staff have been courteous and professional in helping us make reservations, check in and check out. We have a partnership that we truly value. BAYARD DODGEThe app was not good. Verification took too long. Chat support person was terrible: said they needed to call my wife but that my wife did not answer her phone. But my wife never got a call. And why do you need to contact my wife? Im a 52 yo man w a valid drivers license, a credit card, excellent credit and a clean driving record who lives a quarter mile away! It said the van was in front lot; but the van was in the back lot. Fortunately, Sherill at this Uhaul was present and made up for the poor app and poor app service.

Raffael AltmannIf you want customers to look over pictures and compare them to the equipment to confirm any previous damages and or point out any that are not shown in the pictures, then you should be able to zoom in on the pictures to be able to see each and every detail. In addition to this, the link for the pictures should not expire at any point until the rental is returned. The renter should also be given the option to download these pictures. I was not happy with this rental experience. I've rented from uhaul for 10 years and this was the worst i've ever had.

Over the past two years that I have patronized Charlene’s branch, a number of employees have stayed but there has been expected turnover. Charlene’s new staff invariably follow her lead in being polite and patient. They train up fast and become knowledgeable and valuable members of the team. A manager’s ability to manage staff turnover is often a challenge, and those who do it well earn loyal customers.

Too aggressive contact when I was an hour late and hadn't called back in yet they called my emergency contact to talk about when the car would be returned. First of all, she had no idea as I wasn't really late, just bad traffic. Secondly, it made her worry. Not a huge deal and otherwise the automation you out in is great. Process just needs to be tweaked.

They barely know what questions to ask as you try to express what you need. $19.95 is a joke! You end up paying double. Even for the gas, the mileage - where are my copies so I can decipher this rip off! I will use your services when I need to but your shining image of being an American “Big Brother”, an efficient and helpful service respected and respectful to every walk of American life, has dissolved into some gruesome swindle. Get your selves back to what you once were. Everyone there looks so absolutely miserable, you want to run away!

Its 2023- employees should have a tablet, inspect the vehicle with customer, agree to sign waivers and be on their way. Doesn’t make sense that the customer has to go search for the truck themselves and do a solo inspection. Painful process!!! Redundant. Also, it’s ridiculous that employees back the trucks all the way against the wall and ask customers to search for the plate number that matches their set of key. The plate isn’t visible unless we walk to the back of every truck. Overall, just ridiculous.

They gave me another truck but I was surprised they put me in a truck that sounded like it was ready to blow a belt or a power steering pump. The second truck they put me in was perfect - thank you. Female attendant on duty on july 19 was very rude and with an attitude. We complained to the assistant manager who was very understanding and friendly. He also agreed that she had a problem and was going to mention it to his manager. The process and requirements to rent a truck was beyond complicated and scary: worse than going through customs or immigration when entering the USA. We have rented cars and trucks all over and internationally and have never encountered a similar experience. You are made to feel like a crook or a criminal. Not good customer service. At all.

It was a rough start, but no problems as the time continued. I, nevertheless, would choose to go to this UHaul again, now being familiar with their set up
