The 26 ft truck I rented had no shock absorption. I thought my teeth were going to fall out. I couldn't see the road clearly because my eyeballs couldn't focus because of all the shaking. I couldn't get on the freeway because I couldn't go faster than 40 mph because of the shaking. Junk.

I called the pickup location and spoke with the manager Veronica to confirm the reservation, she said she did not see a truck at Ben white for this reservation and would put in a transfer request to make sure a truck would be available. I called again one day before to confirm everything was ready, the rep said the computer system was down and she could not help me, hour later I tried calling again more than once and no one would pick up the call. Later I called phoenix and told Victoria I was concerned and needed a solid confirmation, she seemed to sway back and forth and made suggestions that I might want to pick up at another location and that the wait time might be long at that location but did confirm that the reservation was for Ben White and that they did have a truck ready. My confidence was not super high so I called phoenix a couple of hours later and Sylvia seemed to hesitate as well, so I asked her what was going on! Asked if they really needed me to pick up at another location I would try to make arrangements but that Ben White was way more convenient for me. Sylvia said she could confirm the appointment at Ben White and that the truck was available. The next day I arrived more than an hour early in case of some blunder. When I checked in I was immediately told my appointment was another location approximately ten miles away, I told her I had confirmed, she insisted and showed me her screen, I told her I had spoken to Veronica on Tuesday and confirmed. She said I had to go to the other location. I asked to speak to Veronica and reminded her of our previous conversation four days ago and told her Phoenix had confirmed twice. With no acknowledgment or connection to me, as if I was not there she simply turn to the clerk and told to just transfer the reservation and walked away. The clerk was very impatient with me, took my picture and pictures of my driver's license front and back with her personal phone, which I found extremely disconcerting. When I went out to inspect the truck I asked for an inspection sheet to document any damage the man laughed at me and said they had not done that in 15 years. I was uneasy the entire trip not knowing if they would try to charge me for any existing damage. No instructions where given to verify the condition of the truck. The inside was sticky with food, and snacks remains under the seat, not a big deal compared to all the previous fiasco.

I have used this location over the past 10 years with the same high quality, friendly, responsive service techs each time! As an older person, trying to do everything online on my phone doesn't work so well. No problem here! Great location for me, easy access, clean, well stocked supplies in the facilities. My best 5-star rating!

- We reserved a dolly and when we arrived we were told they are first come first serve. This was not indicated online and caused an inconvenience. If someone reserves it, you should keep it for them. - The check-in process took 30 minutes of our reservation. You should tell people to arrive 30 minutes early to get their full time with the truck.

I requested a motorcycle trailer, the only location that had them was 45 minutes from where I live. I attempted multiple times to find an alternative U-Haul, or ask if they could let me drop it off closer to home, so that I would not miss Easter with my family. The service team was ultimately unhelpful. They told me that I would have to rent a different trailer which would cost more, but before I could answer, just continued on with renting the motorcycle trailer, as if they had decided for me that I did not want the upgrade. As it turns out, the only motorcycle trailer that they had was broken, and they had to upgrade my rental to a one-way trailer. They told me that my price would stay the same, however, this was not reflected in my bill as I had an increase for the upgraded trailer. It was a one-way trailer, I thought it might be possible to return it to a closer location, and was even willing to pay The fee to do so. Somehow, my contract still reflected in the System that I had a motorcycle, and the service number agent refused to even consider allowing me to return my one-way trailer, as even though it Was not a motorcycle trailer, They were treating it as such in the machine. I ended up missing Easter with my family, thanks to the delays with broken trailers and the Refusal of staff to be aware of the situation and allow me to drop the trailer off closer. The service staff in the Equipment yard were very helpful, and did try to help despite the failures of the office staff.

There was one person working the front desk. I arrived on time for my reservation & still ended up waiting 45 minutes to get my equipment. The dolly’s I reserved and paid for were not available, making my live even harder. The truck was only gassed up to half a tank. To make it all worse, my reservation was for 4:00pm for 4 hours, and I didn’t get my equipment until after 4:45pm… and the associate still had the nerve to say, “you’ll need to return everything by 8 pm”, as if 45 minutes if my reservation wasn’t wasted waiting at their location. The associate was friendly, along witg every other U-Haul worker I encountered, though they had none of my items ready. This location needs some serious customer service/experience training and a review of their business practices because those of us coming in spending hundreds of dollars should not be subject to subpar quality service.

My first time renting out u-haul. I paid for 1 day rate to a van and 50 miles. I’ve noticed first at the beginning that they game me a van with half tank fuel even though they said it’s full. I came back and let the sales person know, she ensured she will make a changes in the system. When I dropped off the van - they called me right after and asked how many miles I drove. I’ve noticed that the miles that was stated in the paper was different when I actually took a van. 2 days later I was charged extra $350 and when I looked at the receipt it says that I drove almost 200 miles. As a fact I drove only 17 miles. Now I have to deal with filing a complaint and get my money back. Attempted to call a store multiple times- I’ve been placed on hold 4 times and on the hold for almost 2 hours… wasn’t able to speak to anyone from the store, but was able to talk to someone from the corporate office. My first time renting out U-Haul was so stressful and have to deal with getting money back

Equipment clean but cams needed greasing and a strap was short and one lift jack was damaged.. Service personnel were awesome and helpful. Suggest revise car hauler maintenace schdules.

There was just a slight miscommunication re: the mileage that caused some frustration when dropping off. The records indicated that the cargo van had about 800 fewer miles on it when I picked it up than it actually did and I was charged $520 at drop off for driving the vehicle 15 miles. Thankfully the staff was very effective in rectifying the situation and getting me back a refund, even at a discounted price! I thought their professionalism was very reassuring.

The guy at the truck return was kind and courteous. But when I asked him about the final charges for my rental he told me to go inside and see the desk agent. I walked in and asked the desk agent the same question but he told me to go back outside and see the return agent. Not only was this ridiculous to be directed and then redirected back but the desk guy was actually kind of rude and full of attitude about it. I’m not paying nearly a thousand dollars to be treated like an idiot. You figure your job out and don’t put that crap on the customer.

Total disaster I must’ve made over 40 phone calls with no help. They forgot my one pod left it there in the lot for a week then sent it to the wrong city. I had to pay the movers twice so I could get my mattress I could go on and on I will never ever ever use this company again, and I am going to be posting many social media platforms about my experience in detail. No one has ever called me back. I have made several complaints.

The truck was backed in with the mirror behind the next truck . When Inwent in, the comment , not from the person who checked me in, was, the mirrors fold. After pulling out, I sat in the driveway for about 10 minutes adjusting the mirrors. Essentially blocking one of the exits. Would’ve been easier to do this before the truck was pulled out

I was rented a truck with a tire that was in really bad shape. Called U-Haul they asked to take it back to U-Haul. While dangerously driving back the representative calls me and said just stay where you’re at they were send road side assistance. That threw off our move. Asked to extend my time to return the truck Veronica the manager said she would extend but didn’t. At 1:30 pm I called to make sure my time was extended was on hold 30 min. Finally talked to a representative and she said I was going to have an additional charge for returning the truck late, then said let me see what I can do, puts me on hold. Who on hold we unload the truck, drive back to U-Haul to return the truck around 3:00 pm and this whole time still on hold. I was on hold for over 1 1/2. The move is stressful enough then to deal with this kind of service. HORRIBLE!!!

I am a frequent renter of auto transports (approx1x/mo) at this location. Many times I’ve had the pleasure of working with Russell. I know when he is working the back lot, things will go smoothly and effortless. It doesn’t matter how busy the lot is, he has it all handled. I’m in and out in no time at all. He is knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I’m rating 5 stars for Russell but the front desk only deserves a 3-4 star rating b/c of Yvonne(she deserves a 1 at best). While in line, I watched her get loud and disrespectful w/ 2 other customers. I heard both sides of the conversation and she was over the top and wrong. I wish you had more Russells’s working for you…great job!

Keep my information on file. I have used y'all multiple times to haul my Camaro with my 1500 Chevy Silverado. The girl on the phone at the slaughter location said I couldn't rent the trailer because of the computer. At this location the girl on the phone said the same thing. The conditions and environment of the facility were fine. I am extremely disappointed in the online reservation process. I made a reservation for a storage unit with drive up access. Furthermore, I called the day before arriving to make sure everything was good to go. I was told everything was fine. I arrived with my truck ready to unload, only to be told they didn't have the 10×20x8 outside drive up access unit available. Very disappointed! What is the point of a reservation if it doesn't hold?

I was lucky that I had something to cut the green tag off of the door. I wasn't strong enough to break it so I had to go out and get something from the stuff I was storing. Also, I didn't understand that I didn't have to put in my security code every time I went through the door (which is nice) and when I went back in to cut the tag, the alarms went off when I opened the unit. It was pretty scary lol It was early in the morning so Maria one of the cleaners was kind enough to come down from the floor above and help me. She walked me all the way down to the front door showed me how to put my code in and explained that I didn't need to enter it in again until I left. Which I just realized I think I forgot. 🤦 Maybe the access could time out after 3 hours?

The location we used was extremely packed and had only two employees. One of them, while I understand what she was TRYING to accomplish, was running two computers at once. Trying to check people in- but that was taking more time off the line of people waiting- even if we were at her station she was taking an exceptional amount of time to check us in. While running two computers/multiple customers at once, she was also answering people on the radio and helping run through those that had “app immediate access”. It’s a good idea and I understand what her intentions were but it was very inefficient.

Staff aren’t friendly or professional, but tend to act as though you are a bother. The alarm in the building would be triggered frequently and then turned off, what is the point of that other than to annoy customers, no one ever showed up to see why the alarm was triggered. I cleaned out and cancelled my storage unit the day my monthly rent was due and was charged for another month of rent; that is pretty greedy of Uhaul. I have had some very poor dealings with U-Haul in the past, but this was just greedy and poor customer service.

The availability of storage units was not readily known by the office employee. The 5’x5’ unit was actually 4’10” x 4’4” and was not usable. However, I did was charged a full months rent even though I did NOT use the unit.

They are always busy; plan for that! But they are fair and helpful. Never felt otherwise. They Always have equipment at the inside of the doorway to help haul your boxes and other stuff in or out. Temps are kept within stated range—but what works for your belongings may be too warm or too cold, depending, for you! Bring water; dress appropriately. Also, I rented a UHaul van—it was clean, & worked well for a reasonable price. If you’re short,—I’m 5’1”—bring an extra cushion to sit on! The store has everything you might need, from locks to boxes, equipment, padding, tape, mattress cover, & so forth. Location convenient, parking can be an issue; but worked for me.

I bought the storage to have it on hand but my son showed me how big a mistake that was so after 3 days I decided to get rid of it. The storage facility kept all of my money and didn't refund me any of my money. So, basically they didn't give me back any of the money that I paid they don't do refunds.

The storage unit is satisfactory in the end and the staff was friendly but the check-in process was quite an ordeal. I was first assigned one storage unit but when the employee walked me over to it, we were unable to get into the building for about 10-15 minutes due to issues with the access card and keypad. Once we finally got in, the assigned storage unit appeared to already be in use. So we had to go back to the desk to get re-assigned a new unit from scratch and I had to provide all my info once again. Then I finally got a proper unit after about about 45 minutes of waiting and shuffling around.

Why have a number to call after hours when the GM is not going to answer. After moving all day and driving 3 hours to have the doors lock and have to leave my stuff unattended and could not lock my unit when I literally had my last dolley and tried to open the door at 10:02pm. I had to keep the truck which was an extra charge, go over miles which was an extra charge, and literally none of that was explained when getting it. I would have found a 24 hour facility and rather paid them. So much for the free storage if I paid 100 today. The Assistant Manger was excellent and helped me move something. He didn’t have to and that is customer service. GM take the signs down to call you for after hour help. That is a lie. It is 11:30am the next day and you still have not call to follow up. Make the assistant the GM.

I booked and paid for a storage unit. When I got to the facility, access to my building was denied. I went inside for help. The supervisor tried my password AND his, but both were declined. He basically told me sorry but nothings working. I can't open the building where your unit is. I told him I had to be out of my apt by midnight so he needs to get me a unit in a building that will open. He did & Said this unit costs $30more. For my trouble, I didn't think I should be charged more. He told me I wouldn't this month, but they'd probably charge me next month. He also told me that I'd be able to get back in this building without a key bc sliding door will open. So, when I returned an hour or 2 later(at 8pm) I was unable to get inside bc they were closed and doors didn't just open up. No key, no code, 4 hours until I'm supposed to be out of my apartment & ive got 2 more loads to get insude this storage and a van to return! Yet I'm completely locked out with absolutely no one around to help me out, not even the customer service line could help. I was charged that extra $30, without giving my permission uhaul just decided to charge My card on file. The worst part- I had to keep van extra and I wasn't able to be out of my apartment in time therefore I git charged extra for the van and for my apartment. Completely unexceptible! Very bad experience!!

Tommy the staff manager is poorly in dealing with an issue with customer service his next worker under him is also poorly !!! they disrespect you very ugly I would not recommend you hottie anyone family or friends. And safe need to wear name tags half of the staff members that do not have a name tags so the only way you can have if you have an issue is they describe the people what they’re wearing what they look like is unprofessional to work at a job with no name tag . I got. The name from of the employee name Justin. But wouldn’t give me the other employees name all I can do is give you a description of what she looks like. Everyone there was totally incompetent. Didn’t have any record of my ubox in their system. I told them the ubox number and they said that box was empty. He kept leaving for long periods of time and coming back to tell me it wasn’t there. I finally found someone else to help me by walking back myself and it was the exact box I told them it was. The first guy said “oh I must have checked the wrong box”. On another day I wasn’t able to access my box at all because a worker parked a truck in front of it and took the keys and wouldn’t be back to work until later.

I was very disappointed that due to a family emergency, I had to extend the usage of the UHaul trailer I was renting. I was told by the Owner at the Tacoma, WA UHaul that since I was given an UNSAFE trailer to rent when I went & picked it up 3 hours away in Yakima, WA & then had to drive to Graham, WA to pick up another trailer (& unload & reload what I had in the unsafe trailer by myself, that I would be given a $50 credit. I had already paid $184.11. I was rented a trailer with no brakes. 😮 Well, I never got this $50 credit & when I got to Austin, TX to drop off the trailer, I had to pay an additional $176.00. I am not happy about this at all. I am a travel RN & I’m thinking twice about using UHaul again for my additional assignments.

I’m very disappointed with the UHaul representative behind the counter, Roy Amaya. He was rude, abrupt and did not seem to care about the customers he was assisting. He did not answer any of my questions clearly. What happened to providing excellent or great customer service, or better yet, treating people as humans or even with a hint of compassion. Not to mention, he had the audacity to charge me for the one month of storage even after I told him that my truck rental came with a one month FREE storage unit rental as a promo that UHaul is having that I agreed to upon reserving the truck. He said he will not honor the promo because their location is already at 93% capacity and that he will only honor it if their location is in boy at 70% capacity. The one of the most ridiculous reasoning I’ve heard of! I want a refund for the month storage unit I was charged for!!!

Storage unit was closed out on the 4th but I was called to come drive 30 minutes away to do a walk through of the unit. I already spent almost $1800 to rent a uhaul truck to move to the area now just wasting gas to come there for a walk through that I need to be there for. Not feeling too happy

Initially I booked a storage unit at the Address 9001 I 35 10 minutes away from downtown Austin. the afternoon shift on the afternoon of July 29, the staff on duty that afternoon was rude lied and said he couldn’t find our reservation, and there was nothing he could do I asked if he can call the customer service center he said he doesn’t do that. I called back customer service the agent was great she booked me at the 304 Benwhite location the staff was great had no problem I use Uhaul whenever I have to and never had a problem, so I really will like to let the site manager at the 9001 I 35 location know about the young man who worked that evening shift on July 29th. Thanks to great customer service at the contact center and the site I ended up using..

the facility was clean and secured the unit came sealed with pest control in place to prevent any problems. each unit is access coded ,there is a multi height loading dock ,plenty of flat dollies and lumber style dollies that mattress and tables can be transported with and a canopy over the dock. the staff was very helpful. exceeded expectations.

The facility was ok, but the staff were honestly incompetent and rude. Jessica was rude to me a few times when I was checking in, and she got me set up at the wrong storage unit. That wasted about an hour of my movers time that they could have spent unloading my truck. And the older lady was not very helpful, either. I went over there to check out, and it looked like she was busy. So I waited for her to finish. I couldn't help but notice it was taking awhile for her to wrap up what I thought she was doing on the computer. Turns out, she was dorking around on her cell phone and was completely oblivious to the fact that a customer was waiting on her. The location was okay, but the front desk staff are rude, aloof to customers and don't seem to know how to do their jobs right. Either re train them, or get new staff, please.

Long-time storage customer, never late with payment. Rented trucks and trailers for move in, moving storage contents, and storage checkout. The alarm at the Ben White facility is deafening and incessant. Why can't this be disabled or another method of alert used? It is a problem for individuals with sound sensitivities. Treated like dirt in the office. Didn't expect to be treated like royalty in the office but still...a little courtesy/professionalism goes a long way.

First I can from Ohio they out the wrong hitch onto my truck then they messed up my whole reservation got here for charged for locks twice bcuz my original storage space they didn't honor so I ended up with two small storage spaces which all of my things didn't fit in them then I was told that all of my reservations were the same for here and the drop off was for another part of Texas nobody knows about then was told I had to pay $250 not bcuz if some mistake I made but from the original person who completed the the paperwork did what they wanted and told us it would be changed by the time we arrived but I wasn't. So in short the hitch wrecked my truck, my storage space wasn't what I was given and had to pay for two separate locks because of it, then the drop off and storage was in the same place but when we got here Ohio didn't correct the mistake and so now I have to pay for something that wasn't my fault and the clerks inside the store were very rude and acted as if we robbed them of fees when I paid what was told to me and nobody told me about another Dee once I arrived I doesn't say in my bill that I have a balance due. I'm very upset and when I can move into my new place no I will not recommend this service to anyone I'm so disappointed 😞😞

I drove directly to U-Haul from Greenville, SC, to meet movers at a particular time and was beyond stressed. There was a minor mishap with the online reservation for my storage unit but Caleb was AMAZING! He was really sensitive to my situation and was extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. He really came through for me in this highly stressful situation. The facility was impeccably clean and carefully monitored, I felt very safe here. I recommend the services that this location provides, particularly the exemplary customer service. Thank you, Caleb!!

Pulled up to begin unloading items to place in storage and was told by an employee I am not allowed to park where I was. I explained we were taking items into our storage unit which was why I was parked up front by the door leading inside the building. He stated where I was parked was “their” parking and customers can’t park there. When I asked where we should move he stated he didn’t know but I can’t stay where I’m at. Another vehicle pulled up and parked close to the entrance to begin unloading to which the employee told them “you can’t park here”. We both asked again where we should park and the employee began to get frustrated only stating “I don’t know but not here”. We were not blocking the flow of traffic for other customers or other employees to move trailers, cars , trucks etc. Overall I was rather shocked by the employee’s statements and lack of help to know where we should park to unload.

The elevator broke after my first trip to the second floor. The staff was difficult to reach, did not answer the phone or assistance button until a few tries. Was told it’d be days until they’d get it fixed and offered no assistance to help me get the rest of my belongings upstairs.

Somebody broke into my storage unit and threw my clothes/items all over the unit. Nothing was stolen, but it was certainly less than ideal. The only saving grace was Mandi, as she was super helpful and understanding through the whole process. She deserves a pay raise and promotion. Uhaul as a whole was not helpful with the process of reviewing what happened to my unit, but that wasn’t Mandi’s fault. She was handcuffed by a horrible policy.

I rent from haul fairly often and have never encountered such rudeness, unfriendly, unhelpful people. The manager was the rudest, snd when I ask who the manager was he spoke up and said "Is there something you need"? I said no I need a business card with name, he in turn gave me a full sheet of locations but no name. I just opened a business in Austin, tx as well as Dallas, Tx., but I will never go back to that BEN WHITE location again and will inform everyone of ALL the problems I encountered. U-haul sent a letter to my parents' address despite the fact that I am not the primary account holder, I never provided my parent's addres, and that our unit was already closed. This letter revealed very personal information that I never authorized U-Haul to reveal to anyone and as I never provided that address I need an answer as to why this was sent. There is no reason for U-Haul to have sent that letter or to have access to that address. Please provide a response to my lawyer.

I've used this location before, but right before the pandemic, summer of 2019, I moved, not renewing apartment lease because my Dad was dying, left town. Then, car broke down, traded it in fast. So busy, frustrated & exhausted. I had to store all my belongings. No full-time job after returning from Dad's funeral. Someone went in my unit, stole an item that I know it wasn't me. Only I have the key and no one else. Rented for 2 years because I had no home of my own. Whoever is going around the units sneaking around when manager is gone stealing from the ones stored for so long should know I found out because I'm very particular of how I preserve my belongings. The item was permanently tied in knots with a large item because I wanted it there always!!! My item was cut and yanked off by someone. I have to forgive the soul who did this, so God will forgive me, too. I don't know if manager will believe me. I've been through enough already.

I truly appreciated the climate control. Stored wooden furniture for a little over a year and was in the same condition I put it in as. Facility was always clean and every staff member from office to personnel in the halls was always friendly and happy to help with anything, the few time I had to ask. Maybe a national chain but feels warm and personable like a small business.

We have used this facility for years but couldn't wait to move out. Staff are nice, but management is totally unhelpful. We paid for extra hours access but several times weren't able to get in. Though our storage units were never bothered, the building security was not secure. I would NOT recommend single women use or access this facility. The automatic front doors are open to the general public all day during business hours despite the fact that it is described as a "secure" facility. I inquired about why a code was not necessary and why it wasn't locked during the day, and I was told by management that it was "public." This is simply not true: I paid significant amounts of rent monthly to use it ($350 per month for two 10x10 units for years) and random passersby do not pay a dime; therefore, they should not have the same access as I do, and this certainly lowers the level of security. On several occasions, I had uncomfortable moments at this facility when transient men entered the building; they made lewd comments and drove back and forth on their bikes in front of the building, and as I was going in and out and would enter the front doors with their bikes to use the bathroom. The bathroom (on the first floor) was treated as public, rather than reserved for renters. Additionally, during COVID, the mask mandate was not enforced here.

Staff was rude and disrespectful when we set off the alarm. I explained we had only been there twice because we needed to store my daughter's items for college during the pandemic. BOTH experiences were awful. The first visit we were given the wrong codes which set off the alarm (not our fault) and the second time was purely accidental. The m staff member over the intercom was disrespectful and condescending. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. People who need a storage facility are generally in some form of transition. Ugliness and a lack of communication are not helpful at a time like that.

Manager was quite discourteous from the very beginning. I incurred a late fee at the very beginning of the pandemic after losing my job. He refunded my late fee, however, he was very unkind and and condescending. He expressed no empathy whatsoever and stated as long as I had the unit he would never refund another late fee. In October, the keycard machine wasn’t working one night and a line of people had gathered and were trying to swipe in. I called the after hours number and it was the same unpleasant manager. Still discourteous. Still unhelpful. I hope that staff realize that moving into a storage unit can be a very low point in ones life, particularly after a job loss related to Novel Coronavirus. The human element is fundamentally important in relating to people.
