Equipment clean but location is dirty and overcrowded. Office area not well marked - seemed uninviting.

William OWorst experience of moving in my life! I was PROMISED, TWICE that a hand truck would be on the truck. It was NOT. The manager told me I had three options 1. Use his hand truck and return it when I was done. I moved 600 miles round trip. I was not going to drive that distance to return his hand truck or 2. Go hand truck shopping in a huge moving truck in a strange town with movers arriving at my house in less than an hour or 3. Buy his hand truck. This is called "Bait and Switch" which is illegal! Someone promises you something and then, at the last minute, charges you more money. I am considering legal action against U-Haul and The Rental Place with the Sonoma County District Attorney. You can not treat your customers this way. And, when I called U-Haul about it they said I would not be charged for the hand truck BUT I WAS! U-Haul should be ashamed.

Ashley BI had a very poor experience dropping off at this place close to my house. I was told to just leave the key, Andrew didn't know how to manage a truck return at all and I left feeling really uneasy with no proof of return. I even called later than day to ask for a receipt, with no success. I dealt with Amber at your 800 number who documented everything and tried to assist with closing out my rental but said she had to get a ASM involved. I never heard back until I got a bill 5 days later for 2 gallons of gas - showing me the gauge much lower than how I returned it. I was completely appalled by this. (I recvd it at 3/4 full and returned it at 7/8 full). So I had to call back AGAIN and dispute this erroneous charge of $10.25. Sandra reviewed the amount with me and then proceeded to process a refund of $10.11 instead. Sigh. Not impressed with Uhaul and the disconnect between their vendors and the company. Nobody seemed to know the policy on bridge tolls and *I* had to find it online in the rental policy and explain it the THEM. Hmm.

Martha PI returned the truck with 3/8 fuel level having put gas in it on the way to the drop off. I told the employee an email receipt was fine and left. When I reviewed the receipt it showed 1/4 tank fuel level and a fuel service charge and gas charge. This is unacceptable. I'm thinking of making a complaint to the police.

leonardo eAgent charged me a $15 Safe Move fee even though I declined it when reserving the vehicle. They did honor the blankets and mileage requests.

Anthony JYou canceled my reservation 3 hours before my scheduled pick up via text message.Then location Made a reservation at another location that I did not request nor could I travel to get there. I had to call to cancel that reservation that was 10 minutes after automated reservation was made by I don't know who via text message and I didn't request and was told I was going to be charged for a less than 24 hr cancelation. Are you kidding me?? Was then given a much smaller truck available but was given a contract that was not for the truck I was given keys to drive. Mileage was wrong and gas was on empty but contract stated 1/4 tank. This was an absolute disaster of an experience. Employee is not the person that usually helps me with great service. It's always been great until I got this person. I won't be renting if I get him again.

elizabeth aThere was no one there, I was instructed to leave the key in a lockbox, but the lockbox was missing. Called the help line for assistance, and they finally said to just leave the truck and return the next day to hand over the key. I lost a good hour of my day searching for the lock box and on hold with support. Now I have to drive back there today. Very aggravated.
KEVIN BOdometer on the van i rented was rigged. I drove 27 miles max and was charged for 55 miles. Check your distances and see how they charge you.

Anthony JYour electronic check in process is awful. It takes much longer and requires more steps than in person check in. Honestly it was a waste of time. I was charged for gas despite returning the vehicle with more gas than I received it with. I have emailed twice now to have this issue addressed, and have so far not received any feedback. My complaints are 100% not with the location, the folks working that location were incredibly nice and helpful. My complaints are with Uhaul the company, your check in process (electronic, not in person, again the staff at this location were great) and being charged for gas despite returning the vehicle with more fuel than I received it with.

Lindsey MThis location does not alow for after hour returns, which was not disclosed on the website. and I only became aware of it when I was at the counter. However, my main concern was my erroneous assumption that all trucks came with an EZ Load Ramp, which the 10 foot truck does not have. THAT INFORMATION SHOULD BE NOTED CLEARLY; ( as in: The ten foot truck does not have a ramp). You rely on the customer to deduce that there is no ramp because it is not noted in the description. Because of that I had to make a second trip from my storage unit to my home to build a ramp out of 2"x12''s in order to load the very heavy stove.!! That cost me more time and milage fees. I didn't appreciate your lack of vital information!!
Gary EThe truck was filthy, with a sticky floor and there was litter in the truck. The tools on display in the customer room looked like they hadn't been cleaned before they were put back on the floor, and it had been a very long time since the van I rented had been cleaned. Really bad business. I don't rate companies w/ stars or anything like that because I think it's a scam and the vendor has no recourse when he receives a poor review. Just suffice it to say that I will never rent from your store again and (obviously) cannot recommend you to anyone.
ROBERT HAt the rental office, please get the computer website to ALLOW 2 partial payments to be received for the whole huge total when paying the bill. Such as PARTIALS on 2 different credit cards! Or, part of the bill with cash and the rest on a credit card. This is a MUST!

Kathy PNeeding to rent equipment usually means stress, but not at The Rental Place, in Santa Rosa. It is always a pleasure to do hassle free business there with professional courteous staff . They also have things to rent for parties like cotton candy makers, tables, and helium in addition to boxes and moving eqpt. Fidel is a genuine straight-shooter, wish I dealt with more individuals of his nature. Bless Up!
Katie RThe reservation stie said that this could be a virtual pick up site - but I wasn't informed until last minute that it wasn't. So I wasn't able to pick up the truck early and return it late as planned as they closed at 5pm on Saturday! As a result, I wasn't able to return the truck until Monday morning and they charged an additional day! Uhaul should not allow customers to make a reservation like this if the site is not able to accommodate.
