I called the day before my reservation to confirm that I would be picking up the truck at that location. That wasn't clear, initially. I told them that I would be picking up the truck after noon. She said she would change the reservation. That didn't happen. They cancelled my reservation. Luckily, they had only rented it for a local move, and it was returned at 3:00 pm. When I asked why they didn't call before they cancelled, the answer was, literally, "pfft". Not even a word of answer, just a noise, as if that were a stupid idea.CLARENCE D.

Rented a large van through the U-Haul app. I booked through the app as it claimed there was 24/7 accessibility at The Rental Place. Not the case! The Rental Place closes their gates after 5 PM. I had originally scheduled my pick up at 5 PM and drop off at 10 PM. Glad I got there early to speak with someone! Had to rush to get the truck out and park my car down a random street so they wouldn't lock it in overnight. When I mentioned it to the woman at the front that they should update their hours with U-Haul so people aren't misled through the U-Haul app, she said there was nothing she could do - with a bit of an attitude. I wasn't sure she'd keep the gates unlocked for me while I parked my car somewhere. Fortunately she did (giving an extra star for not being rude in that regard). Had to figure out a place to park it over night then returned asap the next morning to bring it back in. The poor rating is primarily for the woman's attitude and unwillingness to even pretend to care or try to get this resolved. They should get a lockbox for the key for those who book after hours pick up and drop off. The app even had me go in to get the key from the front desk (something I didn't know until I was there in process of picking up) - totally defeats the purpose and again, I would have been more screwed if I didn't get there a little early. The app didn't give me any warning about this and the Rental Place could do more to get this solved. Rushed to get it back at 7 AM the next day so I could get to work on time a half hour away. They need to care about the details!Caitlin B.
Guaranteed rate was not honored and I feel ripped off. Tire pressure was low (warning lights were on). Oil change warning was on. Van was not cleaned or sanitized. used masks were in the Van in addition to the general filth.RODNEY G.

The staff is having customers sign for hidden fees that aren't written down without explaining them. The charge for the SafeMove insurance is nowhere on the paperwork, and I was told by the staff to go to the truck and make sure there was no damage. That was all that was told to me. When I questioned this, I was told that I â€œsigned for itâ€ I checked this paperwork I signed and there was no price anywhere and I was not told there would be a cost. I feel this is not good customer service and these hidden fees took my review from a 5 star to a 2 star.ANGELA H.
In the middle of this Covid pandemic you need to tell your employees they need to wipe down the inside of each truck when current rental drops off. Truck was late from being return by customer and waited for the drop off and no one clean it. Disappointing!! I asked for wipes and person did not have any at the front desk.BOBBY S.

We were told we might have to drive as far as 200 miles to pick up the truck. We didn't have to but our quote was just over $1400 plus taxes and at pickup they charged us $1800 plus taxes, that's extremely unethical and I will put that in my on line reviews if it's not corrected. The location was great. However I had issues wither website. Originally I had signed up for two days starting on the 1st at 7:30 pm and I got confirmation on the web. Was told someone else would call to confirm and no one did. The night before the time was change to the 2nd at 8:00 am. Without explanation. We had made arrangements for the movers at 7:00 pm on the first because no one call us and we got the ok on the web page. That was pretty inconvenient.Marcia G.
