The gentleman who runs the Purple Peddler was extremely helpful and friendly. He stayed open late, helped me hook up the trailer, and went the extra mile to help me. I so appreciate that he has a location that is open late…that really was amazingly helpful to me.

JEFFREY WThere was a customer representative cursing at a woman who was trying to get a cost estimate for a next day vehicle rental. The owner of the Purple Peddler tried to tone her down with little success. He was great with me and explained he would likely have to terminate her due to multiple incidents over two days. I have confidence in the owner and the site and will use it to rent there after we move to our new house in Burlington.

PHILIP LDrove 296 miles but you charged me for 340 miles and did not get refunded for those miles. Was told that if I went over 340 miles, you would charge me for the extra miles. I am unsure why it is two approaches if you go over or under in miles. It is disappointing.

ALBERT PHe put our rental under someone else's name after us telling him 3 times that it wasn't correct. He told the person who's name he used that we used her name with our license. Then we went back up there the next day and swears we gave him the wrong name and threatened us.

C BI'm not talking about this location. I'm talking about the location on E. Maple St. in Burlington. They were not there when I arrived at 7 AM. I had to pay drivers. We waited and waited, and then I was rerouted to At 620 Ruhut st Burlington and it took me to receive a truck 9 AM.

Abelardo VThe truck we rented what 170k miles on it. The mirrors couldn't be adjusted so it was difficult to anything other than the clearance 11 ft sign in mirror unless you leaned all the forward. The seats had no head rests which are safety features. Overall, wasn't impressed with the truck

Benjamin HContain the dog. Even though it was Benson!, more bark than bite, it approached us barking and continued barking at us as we're doing business at the store. Very annoying and very unprofessional to allow the dog to approach customers like that. Other than that, everything went well. George was very helpful and knowledgeable and gave suggestions on how to get the most out of my U-HAUL rental which saved me about $40. Thanks George!
renee fPerson was very rude. Also they had a dog snapping and barking at you the whole time and would not put them up and would let them run around the store. Was told had to bring it back to their shop which added more miles when I had a location just 2 mi from where I could have dropped it off my destination. Back of truck had muddy Footprints broken glass and stuff in the back of the truck. The inside of the truck where you drive smelt like cigarettes. The owner said that they were closing at 8:00 I got there a little after 7:30 the shop was closed was not sure where to park or what to do with the truck. I filled the Truck fill up to the mark they said to be took a picture of the mileage when I dropped it off. This experience has deterred me from wanting to use U-Haul or tell my friends families or coworkers about using them. A $30 service ended up turning into $100 service. Because of all the extra fees they tack on they need to be up front and do not display their logo that way.
Alicia BIt was so filthy! There was a visible layer of cigarette smoke hanging in the air it was SO strong and there was a lot cigarette on the employee's desk. The employee himself was nice.
Joy BU-Haul trucks heat switch would not turn from cold to hot and the overhead light stayed on all the time. The switch would not turn light off so we had to manually disconnect light overhead in order to keep battery from dying. Otherwise, everything else was good.
Wendy SI had ordered a 10 foot u haul seven days in advance and was called 3 days later and asked to take a larger one at a discounted price. I declined since I would be driving in heavy traffic in Virginia Beach and wanted to stay with a 10 foot. They said it wouldn't be a problem a 10 foot one would be there for me. Well guess what they didn't have a 10 foot for me nor did they offer the discount price.

Frank PI called the location in advance. I was told exactly where to park the trailer. I did as advised. I then used the app to check the trailer in. I received the completed notice on the app. I also walked into the Purple Peddler to notify the proprietor. I stood patiently in-line behind two other customers. The proprietor had his back to me. When he turned around and saw me, he gruffly asked, "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" I told him I dropped off a trailer. He seemed agitated that I did so. I advised I did exactly what he said to do over the phone. I even showed him pictures. He told me I could leave. I did not have a lot of confidence in the turn-in process. I checked the app the next day and although it said it was complete the night before it now showed to be active again. I called U-Haul. The person was not very helpful and said she would leave a note. I checked again two days later and it was still showing active. I called in again and the person didn't seem to really care. She transferred me to a manager. I got his voicemail and left a detailed message. I never heard back. I finally received a receipt from U-Haul saying I turned in the trailer on the date/time of my deadline even though I turned it in several days early. Overall a bad experience from the beginning. I don't plan to use U-Haul again or recommend U-Haul to others in the future.
John MThe gentleman in the morning is very nice and gets you on your way. I have rented here twice and the young lady in the afternoons has been rude to me both times upon returning. She acts although she does not have time to wait on you and you are a hassle in her life. She cannot get off her phone long enough to be pleasant to anyone. She actually was giving me grief about returning both times, nothing that I had done she just did not want to walk out to the parking lot to deal with the returns. She wanted me to lift the trailer off my truck by hand, I am a 140lbs disabled Veteran, when I told her I could not lift it off she huffed and puffed and stormed off to the office to get a jack. The gentleman in the morning had told me to not even try lifting it off myself as they were very heavy trailers and he did not want me to get hurt trying to lift it. I would recommend anyone pick up a unit from there but not drop one off to put up with her abusiveness attitude to do her job.

Keith BUhaul is very expensive and all the money could be made on flat rates instead of over charging for mileage no need to advertise prices if you are in no way possible paying what the truck says all over it. Pricing should be looked into as a serious issue or at least took into consideration
Steven FThe location was a lot to take in. The truck was old and beat up, vents barely worked and it had dirt and stuff all inside. The purple peddler is a vape shop but the cigarettes were so strong I could barely breathe. It was very unpleasant. Dirty and gross and yuck. Truck did what I needed but the rental experience was not good.

mack rThese people are excellent to find a company that allows you to change your rental agreement easily and without hassle you cannot find a better company than U-Haul
