I was highly disappointed that the people before me DID NOT return the truck until 3 hours past my pick up time and it's just like oh well sucks to be you we don't care that you were inconvenienced. Not the Sparta Hardware they went above and beyond to try to get it there.we ended having to hire additional people to move and get a truck in between and it really caused alot of problems for me. I ended up having a bad move with all the problems.Michele H.
The scale for estimated gallons needed to return the gas level back to dispatched level is WAY off and we put more gas than was needed (wasting over $16). We are not happy about that...Russell E.

My rental was for a truck and car trailer. My reservation was to pick up the truck first and then come back to pick up the trailer after the truck was loaded. I paid for everything when picking up the truck. When I came back to pick up the trailer, they tried charging me again for the trailer, even after looking at the receipt from when I picked up the truck - I had to point out on the receipt where the trailer was listed. The truck was not swept out when I picked it up. Staff seemed unsure of what to do needing help from 4 different employees. Staff seemed confused on what to do with a cash payment or preferred not to take cash. Drop off location was entered differently than I indicated causing the drop off location 30 miles from my destination even though there are 3 locations within 5 miles of my destination. Of the 4 employees involved, Colton, was the most courteous and helpful, but all staff at this location would benefit from training on how to process equipment rentals, or at least general customer service. I would choose a different location to rent from in the future.Jeremy L.

Kind of felt like a bait and switch. Low "cost", until $1 per mile AND refilling fuel. Cruise control would have been nice. Rental staff were nice. Changes made by U-Haul staff was not reflected at pick-up location when I went to pick-up. Changes were able to be made to accommodate what was changed my U-Haul staff.Nancy C.
The guy I talked to was very mad I showed up 15 minutes before closed even though I called before coming and he had no problem when I told him what time I'd be there. Then he was swearing at the computer getting mad saying â€œthis is why I don't like doing rentals in the last hourâ€. The computers were slow but I felt like he was taking his anger out towards me. Had I of not done recent uhaul rentals through other uhauls in the past, I would never use uhaul again.Josh F.

My dissatisfaction is NOT with Sparta Hardware but the billing. Why am I charged a full 2 day rental when I returned the trailer 22 hours before it was due. Prorated rental costs need to be factored into the total amount due.Daniel G.

The Sparta, WI pickup was good. However, I made the reservation to pick up at Tri State Auto in Lacrescent, MN. Nobody was at that place of business when I showed up at my reservation time I made. They did not answer repeated phone calls or messages. This is totally unacceptable. It took me over an hour on the phone and 80 miles of driving out of my way to get the trailer in Sparta, WI. I would not rent from uhaul in the future. I think my rental should have been severely discounted or free, or at least an appology seemed appropriate, but was nonexistent.David P.

The person handling my return came out from the back and was cursing about something regarding his coworkers. During the process he then started an unrelated and unwanted political conversation. He was also talking with someone over a 2 way radio and was extremely rude to the person he was talking to. In the future I will not return Uhaul equipment to this location.STEVEN R.

I was very frustrated with the fact that I made a reservation to have a 10'-0" truck in La Crosse, Wisconsin by 9:00 am. I was told you would not have to go further than 60 miles away for the pick up location. Instead I was told the day of I was to pick up the truck that I would be going 90 miles away. I spent more than 2 hours on the phone to try to see if something opened up over the weekend and get the pick-up closer. So All I could get was a 26'-0" truck 30 miles away. Which i took it to not kill 3 hours from my moving day driving to get this truck. Then to add salt to a wound I had to pay the additional fee for the larger truck which I feel I should have not had to pay because of the lack of trucks. I feel I should to have to only pay for the 10'-0" truck. It was not my issue there is a shortage of trucks. So over all I am frustrated with the fact that I went from paying $186.00 plus gas to $250.00 plus gas. all of this has nothing to do with the pick up location in fact they were great!MICHAEL E.

I made my reservation well over a month in advance to pick up in Tomah wi. A couple days prior to my move I received an email stating I had to pick it up in Sparta wi, an additional 15 miles out of my way, one way. Meaning an additional 30 miles total. Being that the reservation was made so early I chose to eat the extra miles as I understand that things could change in that period of time, however notification of some sort would have been nice. Then I was told that I could return the vehicle to ANY uhaul center. The website wasn't working at the time of drop off so after putting the keys in the return box I called uhaul. While on hold for 25 minutes the recording continually stated that return to another uhaul center was acceptable and to just go to uhaul.com/share. Once I finally was able to speak to someone I was informed I would be charged double for returning the vehicle to a different location. Had I known that was going to happen I certainly never would have returned it to the nearest center. I would have driven the additional miles to the place I rented it from. I will never use uhaul for moving anything again. I will also never recommend uhaul to anyone. Moving is expensive enough and then to be charged double because you did what you were told was ok, it's not right and it is awful customer service.stephanie E.

The truck was fine but the U Haul 24/7 service is far from applicable. The website wouldn't allow me to log on to pick up the truck. Twice I called the support number and waited on the phone for more than 10 mins with with no one answering. I had 9 people standing around for 2 1/2 hrs waiting until the store opened up before we could move anything.Richard S.

My only issue was I requested the truck from the Rose St location in La Crosse. Apparently they don't house trucks that go one way, and only 26' trucks go one way? My check in status was still la crosse but I was informed (politely) by the associate at the desk I had to run to Sparta to pick it up. I just have a suggestion, for the Uhaul online truck reservation, if it's true I can't pick up a truck from a location, it shouldn't be an option, and neither should a truck size. I enter the path I drive, the website should have algorithms to let me know, "hey you can't do this". I didn't mind the fact I had to drive from La Crosse to Sparta, I did mind that I had an expectation, and it was not met. I also didn't receive any information on the change until that night via email. Had i been notified sooner, I would've been slightly less irked. Either way, just a suggestion.Jacob K.
