Online vehicle reservation was for a 24/7 pickup before business hours but I was unable to pickup vehicle until business was open at 10am. Only 1 store attendant also delayed delivery as he was disrupted several times to wait on convenience store customers.GARY B.

They were friendly, but have different information online vs. on their door about their hours of business. We had planned on getting rid of the truck there at 10, as we had read their hours online to be 10-5 pm, but then had to change our plans after arriving a little before 10 and seeing the sign that said they opened at 12:00pm. When we returned at 12 pm, the agent inside said he just got to work (12pm) and wasn't sure when they opened.BRADFORD C.

We went inside and the person told us to park it and leave. 2 hours later we get a bill for $80. Turning it in late which it wasn't. Cleaning fee which we returned it the exact way we got it and after hours fee which is a lie. We returned it at 430 and they were open. Horrible. Will never rent from uhaul again.NIKKI R.

We have used this location for several moves and have had great experiences up until now. When they went out to show my husband that the truck was clean they said that beings the dollie was just laying in the back we could go ahead and use it at no cost. We got our invoice after dripping the truck off and we were charged 21.00 for it, we never would have even used it if we were going to have to pay for it. We have one of our own. About 15 minutes after leaving with the truck I called and reported that the truck was running like crap and I was told that it would be taken out of commission when we dropped it back off. What about when we were driving it and almost went off the road several times because it was pulling to the right so bad? What about when the brakes barely worked and a couple times the peddle had to go to the floor? We should have at least been able to swap trucks.ELIZABETH G.

Waited over an hour past my appointment. The man at the counter skipped me then left saying that he had to count his drawer so he could leave but he was the only one in there. When the next guy came in he didn't communicate that I needed help so no one helped me until i asked again. Overall, left at 4 from a 230 appointment. To start, masks were required in the city. The employees were following covid safety guidelines. Employees were more concerned with what they were having for lunch when it was my turn to be helped. I had to wait a few minutes to be assisted. Also, when I tried to call to ask about possibly needing to extend my rental time the phone went to voicemail each time and it wasn't an active voice mail so I couldn't leave one. I had to reach out to another location in town to see if I could be assisted. Thank you Kelly at the other location for doing what you could.Ashley B.

I was supposed to only get charged $55.65 for my 1 day rental of the 17' truck but was actually charged $807.13. I had it from 10:30am until about 7:30pm & only drove it 13.7miles. Went back the next day to get it sorted out, wasted an hour thought it was all fixed; but haven't seen any money refunded to me. I feel like I've been scammed & probably will not be going with uhaul ever again in the future!ISAIAH G.

As stated in my rental return notes, the check engine light was on for the entire time. I was skeptical as to whether or not the truck would brake down during the move. Additionally, the loading ramp came of the tracks and took over 2 hours to fix. This made the move take longer than expected and caused me to pay more for my hired labor. I was told by Hometown auto where I booked the trailer that the price was $235 and each additional day was $54, Then when I picked it up it was $378 which is $150 more than I was told, also the first place I was told to pick it up from didn't have one so I had to wait 3 hrs to pick one up from another location, probably won't use uhaul again after what happenedNorman F.
I was charged a cleaning fee after the rep said to leave the truck. It needed absolutely nothing done, It was exactly as it was when we picked it up. I emailed them back and asked that they re-issue me a credit for the $25 and they never called or emailed me back. Poor customer service and shady business practice.Jodi B.
I originally reserved online for a rental, but when I arrived to pick it up the location had nobody working and the doors were locked. I called all three numbers listed and nobody answered. The address is 400 35th St, Marion, IA 52302. I did contact U-haul and was able to drive to another location and receive another rental trailer.Devon W.

We were told they would refund us one day since we returned it early. This discussion hope red prior to rental as we didn't know how long we would need it for. We were reassured that if returned early, we wouldn't pay for two days. We returned it before 2:45 the next day.JOSEPH F.
The person working in the store was nice. The time was messed up so he promised he would fix it. We picked it up at 2:43 pm. But drop off says noon. So he said he would fix it. The next day at 1230 someone called and was rude to my mom about being late for dropping off the truck. My mom was very upset, the man said we were being charged for two days and we had to bring the truck back right away. We hurried and got the truck back at 12:50. Went i went inside the kid who rented us the truck said he no remembered he was suppose to change the time. When my mom said she was upset that he was rude he just looked at her and said what do you want me to say ? He then said he was sitting right next to the guy when he called us and he didn't think anything he said was wrong. I personally think he should have handled that better. They did charge us for two days. We only had the truck from 2:45pm to 12:50pm the following day. So we didn't even get it 24 hours. We have already called customer service and they should be taking care of it. However making a stressful situation even worse was just very frustrating. People at those stores need to be more careful with how they interact with people.Judy J.
Everything went smoothly, so, I have no major complaints. The staff was a bit nonchalant first thing in the morning, but we got the job done. The cab was not cleaned when I picked up the truck, but they swept it out. Drop off was nice, and the folks were a bit more perky and communicative. I had tried to call ahead to reserve the vehicle, but as several reviews stated, the phone is never answered.NEIL B.
The drop-off location was a joke.I appeared to be a poorly maintained converted gas station. Upon arrival I went into the office and waited for approximately 10 minutes for service. When no one showed up I went outside and waited for several more minutes before deciding to park and unhook the trailer. There were several people nearby loading a car on a trailer and I approached them and asked if they knew if any U-Haul staff were available. One of the men said he was in charge.I told him I was returning a trailer and he said to just leave it. I also asked if any paperwork was necessary and he said there wasn't and to just leave the trailer. I was surprised to receive notice from U-Haul for an extra 2 day charge when I returned the trailer the day after I had rented it at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon. You can improve your service by raising your standards for customer service.Darwin B.

When I set up the Sierra reservation, it would have a been a nice extra step if they would have looked at my vehicle to notice I did not have the necessary wiring. It wasn't until a week later when I went to pick up the uhaul (at another location, in Cedar Rapids) that I found out I needed electrical stuff for the trailer lights to work. I guess I just assumed all vehicles had this "built-in" somehow. I may be more ignorant than other customers but for me this would have been helpful. Otherwise, they were very helpful and nice.Kimberly V.

Pick up experience was terrible. No one communicated you had to be there right at 8am or your reservation was cancelled so I waited 2 hours to reschedule the truck and once I got it rescheduled it still took 40mins to be approved through the phone process before I could even take the truck. The location was not the problem UHAUL was the problem. I reserved online for another locaiton. A rep called a few hours later and had to move location pick up due to inventory or something. OK that was annoying but fine. She ASSURED me I was set up completely for online pick up since the new location did not open until 1.5 hours AFTER I needed the truck. Got there ready to pick up at the agreed time and I could not do it. After waiting a LONG time (at least two others came and had much of the same problems picking up thier reserved trucks), trying to call Uhaul and unsuccessfully speaking to 4 people on the phone (one agent suggested I switch locations for pick up to one open BUT I could not pick up there for 9 hours!!!! Why would I do that?) with UHaul it was time for the business to open. YES, 1.5 hours after my arrival! The man at the office was pleasant and helpful....even funny! That was nice! He indicated that UHaul did not properly secure and activate my reservation (or something like that) and that was the problem with the digital pick up not owrking. Luckily he was able to help, a truck was available and from there things went very well.Christina R.

Took over 15 minutes to have my license and picture verified when picking up. I did early check in even. This facility seems very run down. The truck was clean, but the facility was most certainly not. It should also be advertised that even though this facility HAS gas pumps, AND advertises a gas price...they do not carry gas. So don't waste your time trying to fit the 26' truck into on of the gas stalls just to be told they do not carry gas.Veronica F.

Took well over an hour through the required mobile pickup to finally get the truck and one of the two dollies we reserved. Despite being charged for it, we never did receive the second. Not that I would have wanted to go inside the dirty dilapidated former gas station where they are fencing what is obviously drug paraphernalia. Took all required pictures and documented existing damage to the truck. That evening after part of our moving crew didn't show up we extended the reservation for one day. Received a phone call the next day that the truck was late coming back and needed to be dropped off immediately to go out of state but we could pick up a different 26-foot truck. After scrambling around to accommodate as we didn't want to disrupt someone else's move I called as requested to notify them that we were headed back and was told that apparently the truck no longer needed to be returned but nobody had bothered to communicate that. Nor did anyone email an updated contract as requested. Returned the truck the next day at 2 p.m.- 2 hours before our 4 p.m. cutoff cleaned, refueled, and swept out. After 10 minutes of wandering around in the drug paraphernalia we were finally able to find someone to help us. He proceeded to wander around the truck for another 20 minutes before coming to interrogate me about a small baseball sized dent in the top corner of the cargo area of the truck because it had not been marked with a damage sticker according to him. From 5 foot tall I couldn't see if there was a sticker or not. I pointed out to him that there were several large significance scratches and dents that were not marked with stickers that I had photographed as part of the check-in procedure and encouraged him to pull up those photos to compare. The only photos that he would show me were clearly quite old as there was barely a scratch or dent on the entire vehicle. He became quite belligerent about charging me for the damage and when I told him that he could either pull up the pictures that I had taken and submitted when I rented the vehicle or he could submit it to his insurance which I had paid $15 a day for he became downright irate. Told me that I could stand there quietly while he dealt with me or else. After a minute or two of furious typing on his iPad I Got a notification from my debit card that he had just charged me an additional $200. Not, as he claimed for the alleged damage to the truck, but for an assortment of extra days, dollies that we never received or used, so on and so forth. At that point, between arguing with him, waiting on him, and being interrupted while he sold pipes and sodas I had been there over an hour. Rather than make a scene or escalate the situation I informed my card company that I was disputing the charge and walked out.JENNIFER S.

This location was in disrepair. There was no one there to help us or answer our questions and the truck we wanted to get had no keys in the box. We were forced to call uhaul and get another, smaller truck than we had asked for. This was inconvenient and frustrating.Gordon H.
The gentleman was friendly, kind, and very nice. However, the van was not securely attached to the car transport and the tether strap completely came off both front tires completely - twice. I had no notification that the store would not be open and that I would have to complete the entire process online. I was in contact with customer service no fewer than 7 times on the phone and received little help. Once I finally was able to access keys to the vehicle, they were the wrong ones and I had to contact customer service again. It took me a total of 90 minutes on site to finally gain access to the vehicle I had reserved.SCOTT K.

The location was fine, the mobile 24/7 service needs to be improved. I spoke with corporate uhaul more than once about our reservation, and it was never updated in the system correctly bc no one knew what my reservation was. We had issues with the size of truck, the time of reservation and our dollys. The truck needed an oil change and sounded like it was about to break down. We were charged for dollys that weren't even on the truck or we didn't use. This was a terrible experience and we will never use uhaul again.Jonathan M.
