I will be contacting this location. I was charged a cleaning fee for a truck that was not cleaned when I picked it up. I checked the truck before I left. I'm not even sure why I was charged because I had nothing while the uhaul was in my possession. I noticed some crumbs in the cup holder and a water bottle behind the passenger seat as I exited the cargo van but it didn't belong to me so I didn't bother to clean it. I'm not sure if that's their way of making more mo way or getting over on customers but the van was inspected by an employee before I pulled out the parking lot. I didn't receive the typical paperwork I normally get and how I normally check the rental back in. I'm a long time uhaul customer. I've rented several cargo and moving box trucks, plus I have a storage building with uhaul. I'm very displeased with my experience. Cleaning the truck, not a cleaning fee was ever mentioned upon signing paperwork or retrieving the van. An additional $25 dollar for trash that was there when I got it is unacceptable and I would never recommend that junky, cramped location to anyone!Mikki L.

We used truck for only 7.5 hours. Returned with more fuel than we received in it. Was told we had an additional 50 extra miles and after returning on the same day before 5pm. We were charged an additional eleven miles over the 173. Also was not compensated for the extra fuel.Danny M.

My experience was very good. Reserved online, truck ready to go, check out was smooth check-in even easier. I know what to expect when I get a truck from U-haul, a well used high mileage vehicle but the cab was clean and it got me to my destination and back with out issue and that's all I need. Would certainly recommend Shouse to anyone doing a local move.Barton B.

I would love to be able to use the mobile app successfully to return a truck. But in two rentals within the last month, neither of my attempts to do so were successful. The iOS app gets hung up on the part where you need to take a picture of the dashboard. Either the picture taken doesn't show up in the app itself so it can be submitted, or the button to continue from that section never becomes active to move on to the next step. Clearly there's a bug in the photo section of the the iOS app. Instead, for both rentals I had to just drop the key in the box at the facility, and hope that the staff process the return correctly on their own. I discovered that even though I took multiple pictures with the app trying to return the truck, none of these pictures were actually saved on my phone, so I didn't even have my own evidence of my mileage and gas level. So that's another area where the app could be improved. I understand why you don't want to let people choose an existing picture from their album, and need to take it in real time upon returning the truck, but you could at least let the phone save the pictures for me so I'm not dependent on your app working correctly. Thankfully the staff at both locations were really great and helpful.Michael M.

I was told by by this location that I was not covered by my insurance to drive a pickup with uhaul. I had confirmed with farm bureau that my Insurance did cover me driving the ihaul truck.David S.

Made a reservation for a 10' truck one week in advance then was notified the pickup location was going to change. I was supposed to use the mobile pick up and the app would not pull up my reservation. After checking in at the counter I noticed my contract was for a 20' foot truck and was told that is all they had. Then then they no note about the dolly I wanted to rent in my original reservation. The truck I was given was in absolutely terrible shape. TONS of pre-existing damage. I asked the man if it came with a lock or if I could purchase one and he tried to tell me it locked when it closed, which obviously isn't how it works and then told me he couldn't help me when I asked to get an actual lock. So the next morning I had to go to a different location to buy one.Olivia O.

I selected the self service check in and was told I couldn't be helped I had to do everything on my own through my phone after standing in line for 20 minutes. I was told once I completed the process on my phone I needed to come back inside to finish with an agent which wasn't true I had gotten the keys already in the lock box. THIS location was great. I do have an issue with how my reservation was handled through Uhaul.com. I booked my rental and was scheduled for this location, then I received notice that it was switched to another location. I got to that location and there was nobody there to assist me. I called the Uhaul customer service number, only to have my reservation moved back to the ORIGINAL location.Charles H.
Truck was rented on 7/21/2022 at 9:45am. Truck was returned on 7/23/2022 at 2:56pm. I was charged an after hours fee of $20.00. This is unacceptable. This place needs customer service training. I felt rushed and nothing detailed on the rental until I dropped it off. Trusting rep would have my best interest on this transaction. Turned out to be more of a rip off. Please be warned. Take pictures before and after pick up and drop off. Check engine light came on a mile down the road and after I turned it back in the guy was aware of it. Scary. All I heard was there's nothing we can do about it and my hands are tied. Oh and I'm sorry you agreed to this. I'm the one who's sorry. Never again. Tricky business. Dropped off the same way I picked it up. Went over 7 miles and had additional charges of $26 because the gas hand was not straight up and down on half but exactly same way when I drove off.sherron J.

I was a first time user of Uhaul. I spoke with a gentleman over the telephone and requested a trailer for rent. The man was friendly he advised that the had a trailer I could rent. He asked how long will I need the trailer I informed him no longer than 2 hours. I responded to the Yadkinville location to pick up the trailer a young white male with no customer service personality assisted me. Never went over anything just completed paper highlighted some areas and I signed. We got the trailer and that was that. I was in the process of picking up lawnmower and various items inside the house. My neighbors and nephew told me that you can rent that trailer for that price all day didn't have return in two hours. Not knowing I would be charged twice I continued moving and packing truck. The time started towards 5pm so I called to see what time they closed. I advised my name and she said you were supposed to have trailer returned by 3:30 pm. I then asked but you can rent trailer for all day correct. She then said but you told the processor of your agreement that you would return it by 3:30pm. I said yes but this is my first time renting a trailer. My complaint is I should have been told about all day rent options prior to asking how long or at least advised my options. I think this is a poor way of servicing the public. I would not recommend this location. The youngman acted as if he did not want to do my paperwork just a bad experience from start to finish. Being charged twice is totally unfair. Enigine light was flashing when I first cranked the U-Haul. I was told by a large man named Dexter that the vehicle would be fine even though the entire cab rattled when you started the engine. I did make it to my destination, but nobody should ever be forced to drive a vehicle with a FLASHING check engine light is on, I have driven many U-Hauls in my lifetime and have never had a terrible experience like this. I will never use U-Haul again.Nate E.

We were given false information regarding prorated billing and were fooled into renting the equipment. I am really really upset and will never rent from Uhail again. The customer service representative was ignorant and unwilling to make things right and didn't care that we were given the improper information.
