U-Haul Order # 23215817 Hello, I wanted to contact you about a very unpleasant experience I had working with U-HAUL. Around 7:00am on May 6th, I went online to the U-Haul site and ordered a truck pickup for 5:45 pm that night. Around 11:00am I called U-Haul to change my reservation from 5:45 to 8:30pm. The person on the phone informed me that they changed my reservation and that I would be having a mobile pickup. They told me that I would be receiving a confirmation email or text message soon with information on how to use mobile pick up. I never got an email or a text message, and I could not find my reservation online. An hour later, I called back multiple times and was not able to reach anyone. I then called a different U-Haul in my city, and was finally able to reach someone. I told him that the people at a different U-Haul changed my reservation, but I didn't get a confirmation. He told me that my reservation was never changed, and it still says 5:45! No changes had been made. So, I asked him to change the reservation and to please wait on the phone to see if I get a confirmation email/text. We verified that my contact information was accurate, and he changed the reservation. However, I still did not get the confirmation. The person on the call repeatedly insisted that the reservation was in the system and that something was probably wrong on my end. He told me that I need to call someone to check my internet connection and that my data on my phone was probably full, and that's why I wasn't receiving confirmation. I knew that was not the case, because I'm a teacher who works from home and relies heavily on internet for my job. I had been receiving emails and text messages all day. I told him that I don't feel comfortable arriving to the U-Haul site alone at nighttime with no confirmation. I felt very hesitant about taking his word for it that my reservation was there, but he insisted that I should. He confirmed the details with me, and he told me how to go about mobile check out when I arrive to the site. Finally, when it was time to pick up the truck, I drove to my designated pick up location (Assistive Automotive), and like I thought, there was no truck for me to pick up or reservation. I immediately called the 24 hour support number and told the person on the line what has been happening to me and asked her to help me get a truck. She said that the people at Assistive Automotive did not set the truck up, and I cannot pick it up from that location. I had this reservation since 11am and had confirmed it with multiple people throughout the day. Why would they have not set up the truck by 8:30pm? I found that very frustrating when everyone I talked to from U-Haul insisted that everything was set to go. She then, told me that I would need to go to a different U-Haul location further away to get the truck. She changed my location in the system to Security Self Storage. glad that a vehicle was available but it stank and I saw roaches in it while moving. No one want to inherit someone else bugs while moving. The vehicle was not clean nor was the agent very attentive to this.SIMON S.
The staff at this location are sometimes out of the building tending to the property. In order to contact them to pick-up/drop-off equipment or buy supplies, you have to first call an answering service that takes your personal information before then contacting location staff and asking them to return to the office. It's a time-consuming process for someone hoping to quickly pick-up or return equipment and will deter me from buying packing supplies from this location in the future.Margaret S.

I couldn't pick up my truck for over an hour. I called for support and was forwarded to the exact same number, then forwarded to a number that rang for forty minutes. When I finally got some help I was waiting for a chat response for 30 minutes, then they cancelled my request. I managed to get back to that page and waited an additional 15 minutes before getting the code to get the key. It was dark and raining outside, I'm just glad I had people there with me during this process.Ivana V.

We needed a truck just for a quick sofa set pick up. Melody greeted my daughter and me as soon as we walked in the door and was extremely professional, curteous, and friendly. Melody made our experience very simple which is sometimes not the case at other UHaul dealers. My family and I will come back to this location anytime we need to rent a truck. I was very frustrated that the equipment I requested and paid for wasn't in the truck when I picked it up. Since you pickup and return the truck using your phone, there's no way to remedy this. Trailer was left in grass after a rain. Previous renter had left trailer after getting stuck in mud. Got stuck trying to leave with trailer, had to get truck to tow out car and trailer. When we left the next day on trip, the trailer lights did not work. They had worked the day before. I was completely dissatisfied with the pick up location. Trailers should NOT be left in soft, muddy grass. Attendant offered little help, saying I would have to contact UHaul. I would not recommend this site for a UHaul pickup.Robin F.

Overall , the experience of picking up the truck and getting the contract was great. The individual helping me , Melody, was very polite and thorough about explaining the contract, insurance and gas. What I did not like was being charged a gas fee. I specifically noted the gauge when I picked up the truck and stopped to get gas a block from the facility and had the gauge slightly above where I received it. ( better than where I started). I also parked the truck at drop off and took a picture of the gauge level with my phone as proof. I called and said I would not pay the fee, and the woman I spoke with was polite and issued me a credit.Kevin M.
I made a reservation online for one location only to find upon arrival, I had to go to another location. When I got to that location, customer service was fine. She told me to drive around back where I assumed someone would be waiting and hook me up to the trailer - as that's what happened all the other numerous times we've rented a U-Haul. But, apparently it was a DIY. I hooked myself up and drove off, feeling angry and like a theif. Drop off was just fine. I had gotten there before the location but she was already there. She left me go in and drop off the trailer then said she'd check me in when the store was open. Again a DIY situation - went back and dumped it. I'll never go back.Kim B.

Had to spend excess money to fill a tire that was almost flat. Stated FM was aware air was needed and rep did not have air pump on site. Rep suggested to find gas station and put air in the tire. Other than that service was good.Deatrice P.
The truck was clean and in good shape, but it smelled like cat urine. I reserved an appliance dolly. It is a small location and it didn't have an appliance dolly. I had to drive across town to another location to get one. You shouldn't be able to reserve a dolly if they don't have one, it cost me time and mileage money. The attendant was nice and apologetic but it cost me. When I entered my zip code the website directed me to a location across town, I didn't know there was a larger center 2 miles from my house.James M.
