Man who helped me was unmasked during covid pandemic and he was surly. Before checking any details, he told me my wife had to pick up vehicle even though she told person with whom she made arrangements that i would pick it up and she provided a copy of my driver's license. It's inefficient and rude to lay down rules for me as though i am breaking them without even knowing what is going on. Truck worked fine but staff needs lesson in courtesy. Especially, he shouldn't unnecessarily bug me with rules that aren't relevant. Apparently more interested in authority than service.

The mileage on the odometer was significantly higher than what showed in the Uhaul system. The agent stated he could not update it. The result was me having to pay for over twenty miles I didn't drive. I can document the miles I drove. Repeated attempts to resolve concerns have been ignored.

The pickup location was respectable and the Security Pro owner was helpful and competent. The Uhaul check in process needs a major overhaul - quite clunky and lengthy.

I didn't have a problem with the truck or anything necessarily, but I was very uncomfortable with the return process. I returned it after hours and it was dark and there is no one around that area and no lights. There was a man on the street watching me as I arrived and I waited for him to walk away before I got out to take the pictures required for return, one of which makes you open the back of the truck and take a picture, leaving yourself super vulnerable. As soon as I got out and opened the back the man turned around and started walking back towards me. I slammed the thing shut and jumped back inside and locked the doors. Seriously, you're creating a human bait trap, what if someone comes up behind me and locks me inside this moving truck and takes me to their torture basement? You should have an option to come back in the morning and complete that stuff in the daylight. I know I'm paranoid, but I did not feel safe.

The cab was dirty. While there were no wrappers or trash inside, there was a sticky soda drink that dried all across the cup holder section. Also, there was dried mud and dirt in the floors. Worse, though, was the fact that the agent was unfriendly and acted as though I was an inconvenience. Who hires these people to represent your business?? That said, it was the ending of my experience that is driving me to complete this survey. I picked up the truck with just slightly less than 1/4 of a tank of gas, and it returned it with the gauge exactly at 1/4 of tank, so I added slightly more gas than consumed. However, I was charged $55 for 6 gallons of gas plus a fee. I drove the truck 70 miles, and have receipts to show that I added $18.09 in gas, slightly more than 6 gallons. This would equate to approx. 11 miles per gallon fuel consumption, which corresponds to the fuel economy of a 15 ft truck. The fact that I was incorrectly charged $55 for more gas is borderline fraud.

The guy in the office was rude. The cab of the uhaul was dirty. Not terrible, but sticky. No where to park. I had to park a block away and walk.

The guy at the desk could have been more polite..just because he was having server issues with the computer doesn't make u be a jerk..he didnt greet anyone and his vibe was off unless he was dealing with u personally. I had been standing there for a long while after is other customer took forever, and then he skipped over me and took another customer without acknowledging I was there waiting..my husband was upset..but we kept calm.. So after he finished with everyone else then he finally told us his computer was movin slow and we had to wait longer so then he offered me a chair... He just needs to work on his customer service, I felt racism may have played into this a little bit

gas tank was at 15/16 full. I was told to bring it back at same level or pay penalty rate for gas fill up. There's no way to fill a gas tank and know you are at 15/16 full, without shutting off the gas and turning the key in the truck to check the gauge multiple times. So, this practice in effect rips off the customer, because the only way I can know is to fill up the truck. Recommend you always rent the truck full.

Firstly- I booked for remote vehicle so that I can pick up with my smartphone and not have to wait for hand delivery. Pick up time was 6 PM and when I reached the place at 6:20 PM and tried to press pick up my truck on my U haul account which I was asked to do originally, It said your truck is scheduled to hand deliver, Please wait for the office to open at 8:00 AM, so anyone who is trying to reserve for midnight or planning that, Please don't. Also, I filled the gas as per the markings they gave me, and still they charged me for the gas. Poor Service overall.

The vehicle wasn't clean, which wouldn't be a problem, however I got charged a cleaning fee of $15. This doesn't sit well with me. Do not give me a dirty car, and then also charge a cleaning fee on top of it. This means, you charged a cleaning fee for the previous customer also. The staff member was friendly, the location is convenient.

The truck has a rough engine and absolutely no acceleration power for a bit. Check engine light came on and stayed on. It has 110000 miles so needs some maintenance.

This was the dirtiest vehicle I've ever had the displeasure of riding in or driving. The staff was pleasant enough but the vehicle could be mistaken for abandoned or lived in. It took two of us 20 minutes to clean it before we could even stand to drive it. Happy to provide photos of the squalor.

I was told to drop off the vehicle on the street where I picked it up on Saturday. The very rude customer service rep, James, told me I couldn't drop it off after hours, when I had told him I had already dropped off the keys in the after hours box. Employees/customer service need to be trained on what is required and let the customer know. I was on the phone for 1/2 hour dealing with this. Thank you.

Rented a truck for less than 1.5 miles. Still got charged 10 miles. I absolutely understand the service fee and charging for not putting a gas on it because I was so tired already,but I believe it was overcharge. They charged me 60 plus dollars something and they charge me another 130 plus on the next day. Totally confusing and not highly recommended. I was charged for a extra 130 dollars for not putting a gas for just 1.5 mile? are you serious? it wasnt full at all when they gave us the truck. totally disappointed. First time to use a UHAUL, totally the last time too.

I was there to pick up a truck at 8am as I had a very tight time frame for moving. Sales person arrived late. Sales person was very rude. Truck was empty and had to filled with gas.

We had a 3:30 pm pick-up time, the office was closed, no-one available. We had to wait almost 20 minutes before someone showed up. The van we got smelled like urine, like someone pissed in it. It was disgusting. If I had been doing a one way trip I would not have accepted the van. I took it because I knew I would only be in it for very short time periods. Basically, dealing with U-Haul sucked, it was a bad experience in every way.

We picked up with just over half a talk of fuel. We returned with more than when we rented. Rental agent emailed a receipt but included a fuel charge that should not have been on the receipt. We called to correct and he was beligerent, saying we lost our chance to correct the error and that we'd have to "take it up with corporate". This experience may result in us using another company for rentals in the future.

I showed up at 5:40 as I made a reservation online prior to picking up my U-Haul. I made the reservation for 5:45 pm as I had people coming to help me after work at 6:00 pm. I arrived and the man said, "I don't know if that U-Haul is even working." Which made me uneasy about driving it. I then had to wait 40 minutes to get the U-Haul. I did not leave the building until 6:20. So everyone I had helping me was just waiting around on me while I waited for the truck. I finally left, 40 minutes later, and headed to my moving location. As we took the first load down to the truck we went to open the back of the truck only to find a lock on the back of the truck! A lock that required a 4 letter word to unlock. We could not open the back of the Haul that I had just waited 40 minutes for! I called the company that I had rented the truck from but they were closed. I called customer service. The first person I talked to said that nothing could be done and that they would put me in contact with a regional expert so they could find another truck for me to pick up. As she connected me to a regional expert I got disconnected. In the mean time all of my belongings are just sitting on the side of the road as we cannot get into this truck. I called customer service a second time. This time they said they should be able to help me and connected me to a customer service representative. It took 10 minutes to finally speak to someone. They pulled up my contract and found that there was no mention of a lock on the truck. They tried calling the place I had rented from, no luck. They emailed, no luck. Called the contact they had for the place, no luck. So after a 30 minute phone conversation the customer service representative was out of options. Just as we were about to give up I finally got a call back from the company I rented from and the man gave me the 4 letter word to open the lock. He was unapologetic and seemed annoyed at having to assist me. I am extremely disappointed that what should have been a quick and easy move after work turned into an all night long process. I was not happy with this experience.

Store did not open until 8:15, vehicle rented was not available, mileage on vehicle was on contract wrong. Good news, another vehicle was provided, although late, customer service person was helpful and pleasant. Hood was not latched on vehicle which caused the negative on clean and maintained. So other than some lost time, it was ok.

The guy was asleep when I came in and ignored the phone ringing, which is probably why no one answered when I called too. He took 20 min to get the truck which cut into my time, and when he gave me the truck all he did was point out the truck and gave me the keys with no explanation on how to return the truck.

I just checked my bill. I did not add fuel because I drove a relatively short distance and the needle moved minimally if at all. I was charged for 5.5 gallons of fuel after driving 18.7 miles. That = 3.4 miles/gallon in a mid-sized cargo van. I BELIEVE THAT IS A SIGNIFICANT OVERCHARGE, PERHAPS UNINTENTIONAL PERHAPS FRAUDULENT.

was getting some attitude from the vendor. then upon returning vehicle less than 2 hrs after rental and before 3 pm in the afternoon(location hrs were to 6PM) store was closed. i then had to call U-haul to find out how i was going to return the truck. after 45 minutes the store attendant return. when he returned someone called him in his office where again he was giving attitude over the phone and then turns and yells at me for calling U-Haul. when i was just trying return the truck. this will be the last time i use U-Haul and definitely will never return to this location for anything.

Normally when I've gone to get a truck an agent will come out with me and confirm any damage that is already done to the truck and confirm the gas level with me. This attendant didn't do any of that and had me sign the contract without looking at the truck. When I returned the truck, I put it exactly where I picked it up, and somehow it was overlooked and I received an email saying I hadn't returned my truck at all! wow. And then I was overcharged for gas refill.

The driver seat belt was broken and unusable. Windshield and mirrors were dirty. I reserved the vehicle online. It took two tries since the online program kicked once. Then I discovered the first try did work and now had two vehicles reserved. I called and had one cancelled. I selected this location but the vehicle was reserved instead at another location. Reentering all the data again added about 40 minutes to finally have the vehicle. The software was as cumbersome for the Uhaul representative as it was for me.

My reservation did not have insurance. I was forced to pay insurance as the location saud they could not remove it. I am a corpotare fleet driver, i did not need any additional insurance coverage

Online form let me schedule a pick up at 8 am. The man at the store didn't arrive until 8:05 and told me he had to check-in the uhauls from last night before he could check them out to me. The internet was slow and his computer was even slower so it took almost an hour for me to get my uhaul. Not to mention, I had filled out the pre-check-in stuff online beforehand to make it faster. The guy also had no appliance dolly like I had requested. The employee was super friendly and helpful.
