I dropped the truck on a Sunday morning. They charged me $20.00 fee because it was "after hours"??? Every time I rent from Uhaul it is a horrible experience. NOTHING HAS IMPROVED.Margo D.

The trailer was basically OK. There was a nail in the right front tire - I had to have this replaced at home (New London, NH) by U-Haul's road service. The other problem is that the trailer hitch ball assembly was set up so that the trailer tongue's lowest point was about 1" above the road. I ended up driving to the Concord, NH U-Haul location 30 miles away to have the ball assembly properly set up (turned upside down to raise the ball location and have the ball moved to face up. The Newport location sold me a ball bar that dipped down less, but the trailer tongue low point was still way to close to the road. Once the Concord U-Haul fixed up the ball assembly, the trailer tongue low point was 4-5 " off the road. I should add that the man who helped me in Newport was friendly and helpful to the degree he could be. I don't believe he had the tools to change the ball to the other side of the ball assembly bar. In the future, I will pick up any U-Haul trailer in Concord, NH (or other full-service U-Haul location).Richard W.
Uhaul made this renting experience a night mare and I will not be using you again. Terrible customer service. I am talking about the Springfield VT location that screwed up my rental so I had to drive 45 miles round trip to get from Newport. The people at Newport we're great.RICHARD S.

Returning the truck was not easy. Could not find the email from the company. Had to go back to the U-Haul setting and work my way through from there. Another customer returning at the same time. Could not find the email or a way to re-register.Alexander B.

UHaul's on line check in and lock box application is horrible. I got to the location on time. I followed the instructions, and the application to allow me to get the key to the rental stalled. I tried the chat option and calling the 800 number. The "wait" time was 30-45 minutes. Thank goodness there was someone at the office. He told me because I didn't check in "on time" my reservation was gone. (I couldn't check in due to your website issues!) Also, someone else took the key from the lockbox I was supposed to pick up. Without the help of the gentleman behind the desk, I would have been totally left hanging. The people behind me in line were laughing because it apparently happens all the time. Unless you fix your check-in and application issues, UHaul will lose all credibility and customers.Arlene A.

For some reason upon trying to retrieve uhaul the GPS or phone app indicated we were in the wrong location. We certainly were in the correct location. Had to be on phone with a customer service rep for nearly an hour before being given a pin to retrieve keys in lock box. I will only rent a uhaul again if I can speak with a live person at the location.Devin S.

I rented a 6x12 trailer. The trailers opening measures 53â€. That was a huge problem. I brought the trailer back after 2 hours because my item would not fit. Now the guy tells me I have to work with uhaul for my refund. No one has called me back 6035604884. Unacceptable service and product was not what was expected. Cherylcheryl C.
Pick up was exactly how it should be. Truck was clean and ready the people helped without any trouble. I had to deal with a different uhaul place to get a transport trailer for my car and as I was almost there to pick it they called me and canceled it so now I had to drive the truck down and fly back to my home state and drive my car down costing me thousands extra and they said oops nothing we can do. I have never had an issue with uhaul and have used them several times but now I will be using a different company now onAndrew D.

Bill in Claremont and the counter person in Woburn were the only helpful people I had contact with from Uhaul during this entire painful rental experience. I made a reservation over a week in advance for a 9AM Claremont pickup and when I was called Friday night they wanted to move my pickup location 30 miles out of my way ! When I explained that I had a reservation for 9AM in Claremont the response from the CSR was " you don't have a reservation, you only have a guarantee that we'll call you back" ! That is about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard; your site allows me to put in my pickup and drop off locations and times and also accepts my payment for those locations and times but that's not a reservation ?!?! Your website should have a big banner on it stating "You can pick whatever location and time you want but we're going to give you what works best for us " !!!!!!Bill O.

The man who checked me out was rude. He charged my card prior to us inspecting the truck, than got upset when I questioned the amount as it was closer to 170 than 130. He did he couldn't go back to it and that maybe he wouldn't rent toâ€¦MICHELLE J.
Someone changed my reservation and the only way i found out was they called asking why i didnt pick up the van Friday..., i rented for Saturday and only for a day, they changed it to a week and to Friday pick up...uhaul 800# said it was the location, location denies doing it. Clearly given my last three rental experiences with uhaul there are sone major issues. Van wasn't swept out very good, there was old ranch dressing and McDonald's bags behind seat...otherwise van was newer and in good mechanical condition.Seana F.

I have tried numerous times to file a customer service complaint and even the website refuses customer comment. In general, I wouldn't recommend UHaul to anyone anymore, especially if they have to deal with the UHaul in Newport NH! When I called in a complaint to the main office, the drop off location in Newport, NH retaliated by adding false charges to my account for an extra day (that I did not have the truck) and a cleaning fee (the pictures I sent in upon return show the truck clean-not in the condition their rep tried saying it was in, they threw the blankets around and then took a picture). Use a different company, or at least avoid the location at the former Sears on John Stark Hwy in Newport, NHdawn W.
Charged an extra day even though they were no open any earlier ( closed when I call 5pm sat, did not open till 10:30 Sunday). I was asked to unhook my own & to move it in line with the other trailer. Never have I ever had such poor service from a uhaul agentMary S.

The equipment was clean and drove fine. But unfortunately 25 miles into a 125 mile trip, the exhaust pipe fell off the truck and got runover on the highway before I could stop and pick it up. I did run back and get it. I left it in the truck. Made for a long loud trip. I did stop at a rest area and got some toilet paper to jam in my ears. The metal cab of that truck made a very efficient amplification chamber.MICHAEL K.

The electronic return process is a nightmare. You forced me to remain in a dark, remote location taking a million stupid photos to return the truck - or be penalized an extra day for not returning it, even though I had only had it 4 hours and the location was closed. The key drop box was not obvious, either. U-Haul sucks. The kid at the counter when I picked up the van was great. You do not deserve him.Lauren D.
