This location was difficult because the trucks are located 2 blocks away from the location so I had to go to location, get back in my car, drive to the truck, do all the steps, drive back to the key drop, get the keys, drive back to the truck again. This location should come with a clearly visible WARNING.

The contactless process involved a lot of surprise steps (needing an alternate contact, or a passport or lease agreement which _nobody_ has on them casually) and ended up being pretty high-friction, though it was still ultimate convenient. The online chat help was friendly, efficient, and effective, which helped.

Attendant on-site was not friendly or helpful in explaining the process of getting access to the key box. The address said 17th and Ashland, but the trucks are actually parked on 16th and Ashland, which I would not have known if the attendant didn't rudely inform me.

I called customer service and told them about how filthy the van was, how it smelled like an ashtray as did my couch when I removed it. I even sent pictures of how filthy it was. With covid this is unacceptable I expected some type of refund. Didn't even get a call back.

The van had a box left in the driver's cabin from previous customer. We also sanitizer wiped the handles/ steering wheel/ cup holders and our white wipes turned brown. Those surfaces should be wiped down inbetween customers at the very least. When I returned the vehicle, I called the number attached to my rental 3 times to verify my return but there was no answer or call back. We also returned the vehicle with more gas than what we picked up the vehicle with.

The van i rented as soon as I pulled out of the parking lot have a messagethat it needed an oil change. There is no on site personal to talk to. Basically, you call the person on your phone. Even looking for the place, i must of past it up 5 times before I realized that a small uhaul sign was posted on the building. Why not a sign or 2 on the sidewalk?

This was a very interesting and alarming location I'm a female and I was very shocked concerned and upset first of all there were people living in a garage makeshift car wash and some random other things that were going on in that garage a gentleman that had no teeth that was older handed me a house phone to speak to the gentleman who actually on that facility this will cause me to not use U-Haul at all I am a Dr. a first responder cardiologist and it was a disaster from day one my reservation had gotten routed to 17th in Ashland in my original reservation was located at 500 West Cermak I had to walk to Ashland which is 1700 unbeknownst to me that it was going to be in a Be unsafe area not Not to mention no one on the premises was wearing a mask I see thousands and thousands of people die every day from the coronavirus I was quite upset there was no hand sanitizer there was no napkins there was nothing this is a very poor excuse and unprofessional to say the least for U-Haul to have a place like this I tried to call and speak to someone and every single individual that I spoke to gave me the runaround I've contacted mayor Lori Lightfoot to inform her how horrible the whole set up was and that no one was wearing mask at all it was unhygienic and it was unclean in the evening at night you had to return the truck and there was nowhere near the address I hope you

Give the customer what they ask for not say they have a truck, when they don't. I will never use u haul again. I will tell everyone I know not to also. The truck was filthy and stunk. That's just starters, drove like crap, they're was boxes and filth in the back of the truck. It was obvious they do not know what they are doing when it comes to scheduling. It was a horrible experience, just being real. If people would only could only DO THEIR JOBS.

The app is hard to use. You have trucks on one street and the lock box that are a block and a half away from each other. It's not very intuitive, but the map and pictures help. Also when you are waiting to be approved it would help to have a countdown. Otherwise you just stare at your phone and have no idea if you'll be able to open the truck or not. The only thing that's good is that you can pick it up on a Sunday! Otherwise it's hard to find a Uhaul spot that is open on Sunday.

They were very unfriendly and the UHaul van was dirty and wet. I had to wipe floor of the van before load the van. They also forgot to tell me that I need to come get the utility dolly from them after picking up the van. I had already arrived at my destination when I realized the dolly was missing. When I called they told me to come back to get it. They told me they would compensate me for their mistake and for the inconvenience of driving back and forth by taking off the extra mileage added on to the van. However, when I was billed after returning the van, there was no adjustment of the mileage and the amount billed. The owner, Donte, is very argumentative so I will not even be contacting them to try to get this bill adjusted. But I would never utilize them again. I already warned my roommate not to go to this specific location.

The location was fine but I had a lot of problems with the online check in and check out, which I wasn't anticipating as it went very smoothly when I used it about 1 year ago. Also vehicle needs an oil change according to the dash board light, that would have been more stressful to see if it wasn't such a short trip to pick up a couch.

I never received a code to use the self-service feature. This resulted in someone at the auto shop having to call someone on the phone. The person I spoke with initially stated that I didn't have a reservation, even though I'd made one 11 days prior to picking up the truck. When he did find my reservation, I kept asking for the lock box code and the person on the phone raised his voice a bit at me in a seemingly impatient way, even though I'd told him several times that it was hard to understand him. Finally, the truck was dirty. Since we're in the midst of a very contagious pandemic, I'd expect that the trucks would be serviced more frequently.

The truck worked but everything else about this experience was awful. There was no attendant present when I showed up at the time of my reservation 4. I had to ask someone on the lot what to do and they had the owners phone number. When I called I was told to come back in an hour because they were unsure if the car was returned. I had to walk to the parking location and call the owner back to let him know the truck was there. Then wait 15 minutes for someone to show up and another 15 minutes to check out. This are 45 minutes of my check in process. There was no explanation for what to do when I return the truck but to drop off the keys. Then I received a text after i dropped off explaining that they would charge a $20 fee if I didn't complete the online form. I then had to drive back to the location to get photos and share my location to prove I dropped it off correctly. This place is terribly run and was an awful experience. I will be renting from the Home Depot next time to save myself the headache and 2 extra I wasted before and after my move dealing with this very unprofessional management and their unexplained processes.

Van smelled of HEAVY smoke and it took a lot of effort to get cleaning charges taken off of bill for not being responsible of the dirty van. Change oil light was on and representative told me it's ok to drive on a rental van that needed an oil change. Check tire pressure was also on. Did not come with the dolly or moving blankets I requested. I ended up getting my money back for the extra charges but it was not a pleasant experience. Do not recommend the mobile pick up.

Other than a very small sign outside and a piece of paper inside there is nothing to show that this place is a U-Haul pick-up/drop-off location. I was ushered in by a man who couldn't speak English very well and then told to call a number which turned out to be an individual's cell. While waiting for the guy to show up I was subjected to a long rant by this old black guy with almost no teeth (honestly he seemed homeless but I guess he worked there?) about how the Coronavirus is nothing and that people are going to start getting robbed. Luckily I am a pretty patient and calm person because to most people this would have been an incredibly uncomfortable situation.

For the Ashland location, it looks like a car dealer. Very hard to tell it's also a U-Haul dealer. The location to park the trucks is on the street before the actual dealer. It was a little confusing, but the workers were helpful.

This was a terrible experience. The dispatcher did was not there when I arrived, it was a place with no visit entrance. Once there I got in it was sketchy and no one knew why I was there, eventually someone helped out they called the owner, got him in the phone with me however it was a dingy phone and I could barely hear the owner, on top of which someone at the facility was pestering me. The owner did not give any instructions before picking up the truck. It wasn't even park at the facility I had to walk 2 blocks down to get the truck. Also was not explained properly how to return the key. They were to lock boxes.

The facility was disgusting and had no heat. No one there could assist so we had to sit on the phone with the manager while he checked us in. We froze our butts off while he kept putting us on hold. The truck was dirty and had a horrible smell of cigarettes which stuck on our clothes. Worst rental experience of my life.

The truck was filthy. The inside was covered in cigarette buts. I brought the truck back with more gas than it had when I rented it and was charged for gas? I was scheduled to rent it as 9am. No one was there until 9:20.

The van was not displaying the correct mileage and gas information as the information online and now i have to deal with making sure i dont get charged more. The website crashed and didn't save any of the inside pictures i took of the van. The verification process was lengthy and inconvenient.

I needed to be somewhere at 6 oclock and missed my appointment because the phone check in didn't / doesn't work. The vehicle wasn't where the map said it would be, I wasted time looking for it, and then I stood there for an hr in the cold uploading photos and calling customer service, causing me to miss my meeting, and not even need the vehicle, and lose out on a lot of money for the weekend. The manager there was able to check me in but he was very rude to me. Then on check in, they overcharged me for gas, and were extremely rude when I called about it. Thankfully I took photos! Always get PROOF!! I would not recommend. Not a very good experience at all.

The location was confusing to navigate and not very welcoming. The truck was also several blocks away from the pick-up location. It seems like the staff is doing the best it can, but this was not an ideal pick-up location for me.

Location was closest to me and easiest to get to. Uhaul you need to get your things together. Nobody asked me for my driver's license. People working there were drinking alcohol. They were struggling to connect on a nearby open / free WiFi. I was afraid of giving my card information and them stealing it from me. The place is so shady and I would not recommend it to anyone. The people helping me were nice, but everything else seems super shady. Uhaul - Have you guys even looked inside ? People are living there. People were not even wearing pants. One person was in underwear. I'm up for you guys being in the neighborhood but you guys are bringing us to an unsafe place. Feel free to call me. There's much more I have to say. It is a terrible terrible place ! Terrible !

This place is in a very non safe area. You walk up to where the U-Haul sign is and there is a drug addict with three teeth yelling at you about where you are trying to go. You then get inside a very scary, and unsafe car dealership, to find that the whole service is being run by a boy on high school in a room with more disgusting garbage in it than I have ever seen. My U-Haul was “guaranteed” by 2 pm. It do not show up until almost 4 pm with no gas in it. Not only would I never recommend this to anyone, because of the area, service, and lack of consideration for the customer, but I also think U-Haul should shut it down. Someone will be robbed minimum there in a very short amount of time. If you would like me to ever use U-Haul again I will need my money back.

I reserved online, and, with respect, it was a little confusing. The first gentleman I spoke with, the one on-site, didn't initially know about my rental, and there were a few phone calls, and some back-and-forth with a second gentleman on the phone. I guess HE had the computer or whatever, because, over the phone, he confirmed my name to my reservation? He then had me hand the phone back to the first gentleman, who then got me the key to the truck, parked a few blocks away. There was some confusion there though, because he thought I was going to be returning the truck, and started explaining what to do when I returned it. I told him I had made a one-way reservation, and I was worried I was going to get put back on the phone again, but I guess it was fine, because he told me where to find the truck. The only kicker was that somebody added Safemove Plus onto my reservation at some point, and it definitely wasn't me. (I spoke to a wonderful woman at U-Haul by the name of Christine (sp?) and she patiently and professionally corrected the extra charge, so please let her know she saved my trust in you!) All the same though, what the heck? No hate, but not cool, guys at the garage, not cool... TL/DR: I guess I'd just like a little more transparency and paperwork on the front-end.

We will not be renting at this location again. The owner was rude, the truck gas was on empty at pickup and trash was left in the back. There was no paperwork or walk around to point out the previous marks/broken items on the truck.

When I arrived there was no Uhaul employee. I had to wait until someone showed up, when a person finally came, to my surprise the truck I rented was not in the right place when I made the rent through Uhaul's website. The people who picked me up told me that I should get the truck somewhere else and that he would not go with me, so he gave me the truck key and went alone to the place. I got in the truck, called and went to my house to get the things of my change. I took all my stuff from inside my house and when I went to put it inside the truck I found that the back was locked with a padlock with a password and of course I did not know the password because no one told me that there was a padlock and no one accompanied me to pick up After many minutes on the phone with the Uhaul attendants they told me that I would have to go back to the pick up place, return the truck and pick up another one. Then I returned to the place of origin, which is not a Uhaul office, it is a mechanic's workshop, I was treated badly there and shouted at me because I went to ask for a different truck because what I got was locked! After much discussion and shouting they took me to another truck and finally went to my house to make my move. All the planning of my day was lost. I lost 5 hours of my day because of Uhaul, I stopped working and my children were alone. This was the first time I rented a Uhaul truck, and I hope to never do that again, because my experience was extremely bad. Unfortunate!

I was given a type of Uhaul I did not want. I specifically asked for the 9' cargo van because I did not feel comfortable driving the bigger truck. However, I was given the larger truck with no option to get the smaller van. I Was very disappointed in this.

A/C only blew lukewarm air in the Uhaul. Temperatures got so hot in the cab of the truck, I had a closed soda can explode somewhere outside Atlanta. 2/10 would not recommend Uhaul as a company to anyone moving across country.

The location was ok and people friendly but the self service app was very difficult to use. Also the equipment is parked on 16th street but key pick up is on 17th street so it hard to review the truck/van for damage then get back to access the key from lockbox

Although everything turned out fine in the end, the men at this facility were not attentive or reassuring. When I dropped it off the guy grabbed the keys from me and said “okay you're all good”.... ahhhh I don't get ANY confirmation or check out? How did I know they weren't gonna just drive away with it. How will u haul know I dropped it off on time? Once again having to do the job for them I had to check out on my phone and wait on hold for 30min.

There was a lot of confusion about pick up. When I made the reservation I requested a specific location and 8:30 am pick up time. The day before, I got a confirmation text with a different location and 9 am time. I showed up early because I still needed the U-Haul at 8:30 and usually picking something up early is not a problem. Turns out, it was. While there were about 5 employees there, the only one who could check out U-Hauls doesn't start work until 9. I didn't get out of there until about 9:20.
