My reservation wasn't taken for 22 Nov to 7 Dec instead of 22 Nov to 2 Dec as I requested. I was told when I got to drop off location I could have it corrected and get my money back. Was a lie. I was taken for a ride in more ways than one. Very disappointed.Taron G.
It wasn't clear how to return to this location. I went into the convenience store and asked the clerk. She said to just put the trailer on the side of the building. I would not recommend anyone to go here for a uhaul. They are very unprofessional, don't speak very good English and the person who does the booking for uhaul isn't there; you have to talk on the phone for the person to do the transaction. The equipment that they said they had on the website, they didn't have, so they gave me the runaround to find the equipment on my own. They charged me for a truck for damn near $500 dollars that I never moved off the parking lot and told me verbally that the truck was canceled but no email confirmation for it and I've been fighting for a refund since 10/16/2022. It is now 10/24/2022 and still nothing. They have really inconvenienced me with charging me way more money and them not having everything I need when they said they did. Inconvenienced me from the 6 hour drive that I needed to take. No one wants to answer the phone when you call. So you have to go to the store to do anything. This is a convenient store in the rough part of North Charleston where they steal the equipment and the people who are doing the uhaul rentals there really don't speak very much English so please if you are going to get a uhaul go to the actual uhaul store and not one of these knockoff places because you will get ripped off like I was. Just go to Penske. You get newer trucks and be equipment and everything is done at ease. Didn't even take me 10 minutes to get everything I needed and they relieved my anxiety, stress, and inconvenience that uhaul has brought me. I will never deal with uhaul anymore after this.Sherrell B.

Location is horrible, rude and unhelpful employees. Be prepared to have someone roll their eyes and tell you to go to the U-Haul up the street. My advice, go rent from an actual U Haul store and not the local convenient store/ sit down restaurant.Gabrielle N.

You can start by improving customer service. I came to ask a couple of questions and the lady was so rude! She and her coworker were unnecessarily rude. How can you be rude and can barely speak English?! Terrible! I will NEVER go back or recommend anyone to go there!Snovia S.
We drove approx. 500 yards to the first stop light and the trailer (that was hooked up by the dealer) popped off the trailer hitch digging into the road. Fortunately, the chains kept it from totally separating from the truck. Had we not been stopping for a red light, and hit a bump this had the potential to be deadly.Robin W.
I spoke to someone inside this old store in disrepair and wreaking of cigarette smoke and she couldn't speak English. She pointed to where the truck was but there was no one to walk the condition of the truck or ask questions. When I went inside she called someone but couldn't get them on the phone. The truck was dirty on the passenger side and had a dent on the front right fender which was not marked. I took pictures because I had to go. Will look at other rental choices next time.RONNIE A.
The people who own the store are incompetent. Gave me the wrong keys and when I pointed out that the contract said it was a different truck. She started yelling at me as if it was my fault. If this how haul works then I will start renting from Penske. All I can say is that they have terrible customer service skills and are not a benefit for Uhaul.Webb C.

Truck leaked in the cab passenger side. Window was shut. Had trouble fueling this truck because nozzle kept shutting off at every gas station we tried. Loud and in need of attention. Check engine light on.Mark B.

When I told the lady, whoever she was I reserved a uhaul online she first insisted that I was lying.. She speaked very little English and was very rude to me. She then proceeded to call someone on the phone who then asked to speak to me and found my reservation..Upon returning the uhaul, again she was very rude..I will never rent a uhaul from this location again and never will I refer anyone else to.Poor customer service and communication skillsCenethea W.

Location was unclear on where to check in. Check in did not reflect reservation correctly (wrong drop off location, missing trailer coverage). Poor communication from vendors. Vehicle was dirty in cab (cigarette butts and ash) and box. When I returned next day for car trailer pickup, they told me none were available and gave no alternatives. Was on phone with Uhaul customer service for 20 minutes outside until another employee came out to allow us to take a different trailer (which the original employee told us they didn't have). This employee hooked up our vehicle to the car trailer improperly (tire straps loose, backup chain hooked to gas fill tube, etc). We took the trailer to another location at 4788 Dorchester Road where Elliot took great care of us and fixed the trailer issues. Do yourself a favor and visit that location instead.Colin L.

Clean at least the inside of the vehicle. The inside windshield was extremely dirty and so was the cab interior. Also, the fuel was less than 3/4 when I received the truck. When I returned the truck to the final destination, I had slightly more fuel than when I picked up the truck but got charged for fuel! (I disputed and provided photos when picking up and dropping off the truck). And mileage on the contract was also different than what the actual mileage was when I picked up the vehicle (contract said there were less miles than the odometer did). I have also tried to receive a refund for this disputed fuel charge and have not gotten ANY RESPONSE. The people at the location where I dropped off the truck were nice and they at least tried, but tell me that the refund has to come from the originating location. I received an email that said "If you have any questions or concerns about your moving experience or the attached receipt, please contact me at..." No name, but some email address - so I tried to contact that email address. Not even a courtesy response saying either someone will look into it or even to say "we're not refunding". This is terrible customer service.JEFF F.
I have pictures to show just how bad the truck was when I got it. The only reason I took it was it was the only one that I could get. From the papers to the food to just being nasty with the bugs on the outside windshield etc it was horrible in the cleanliness department. I got the truck on the 6th of September I let it sit for a few days pack front to back with my goods, when I went to get it ready to go on Saturday there were roaches in the inside coming out of everywhere, I hadn't opened the truck for all those days in between so I had to spend my own money to fumigate the insides of this truck. I have pictures to show everything that I'm claiming, I will not be renting from U-Haul probably ever again unless it's an emergency and they're the only ones in town, I would say for anybody that wants to rent from U-Haul look it over with a fine tooth comb to go over it. It showed no real signs of bugs until I got it home and they were underneath the mats in the padding they were everywhere from the food I would imagine that was left in there and not cleaned out from the previous renter. The truck itself ran pretty good but the cleanliness was very bad. I've rented vehicles in the month of September probably three times and every one of them were filthy dirty in the inside. Not a happy renter with U-Haul, I would recommend not using them unless they change your policies on cleaning and cleanliness of the trucks! One more thing when I went to run it it was left on a quarter of a tank which meant I had to drive and put a full tank of gas in it which I didn't really appreciate.matt R.

Owners came late and store was dirty. Online reservation showed the truck could be picked up before the store opened and that was false.Steven Z.
The lady I worked with to check out the truck was great. Nice courteous and prompt. After a couple of minutes of driving I came back to return the truck and swap out another one because it sounded like it was going to explode. Initially I thought it was just loud, but after the check engine light came on I knew something was wrong. When I returned I spoke with a different gentlemen and told him that I needed to swap out the truck for the above reasons. He told me that he had no available trucks. I reiterated that I could not drive this one and he held firm. I asked if he could get on the phone and see about finding me a new one. He told me no and that I needed to call Uhaul corporate to sort it out myself. I got angry, we yelled at each other and I left. As a representative of Uhaul he should have at least done his due diligence and tried to help me find a new truck but instead I was kicked to the curb. I eventually got on the phone with Roadside Assistance and was very expertly taken care of.Aaron L.

Dirty and not customer friendly location. Guy tossed us the keys and could care less about offering any assistance. Van smelled of body odor and had a piece of the weatherstripping around the windshield hanging off which I had to repair. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.Michele S.
The person at the counter couldn't pull up my reservation so I had to wait 15 minutes while he waited on other customers and then made a phone call to take care of me. I requested a 10 foot truck with a 4 wheel dolly, neither of which they had. The truck they gave me was a 16 foot with the higher deck, and it was dirty. But they did only charge me for a 10 ft. truck, so that was good, but having the higher deck and having to deal with a ramp made things a bit more difficult than they would have been had I been able to get the 10 ft. truck.Patricia D.

Was given a different trailer than I was originally supposed to have which was fine until they called me 4 days later looking for the trailer that I never received. I was charged for the 4 days of not even having any trailer because I returned the trailer I was given on the same day.Daniel M.
Owner of location was rude, unprofessional and over charged me on mileage, to be precise 96 miles over. Wanted to charge me .99 cent cost per miles when U-Haul charges .79 cents per miles. I never received a copy of my contract when picking up the key, usually it's emailed to you if you don't get a printed copy. Worst experience I ever had since I've been using U-Haul. Never ever again would I go to that location. It wasn't my choice as I was transfer there when I did my reservation with King street location , Charleston, SC because they were booked. I've filed a claim to get refunded for the extra mile charges. Waiting to see how U-Haul corporate handlers this matter.Reina G.

I went into the location which is also a convenience store. Multiple people standing waiting for help, and both ladies working walked away. My appointment time was 10am. I waited and finally got keys in hand by 10:25-10:30. I was told to just walk to the back and get a dolly..ok.. first truck had stuff still in the back. Second truck had trash in the cab from previous people, and it sounded like it was going to blow up at any minute. My return time was to be 6pm. I showed up at 5:45 and put the dolly back where I got it from. Went to the counter and handed the gentleman working the key and he just threw it on the table and went on about checking out customersBrandi W.
Agent was horrible. They didn't have the truck for the previous customer. Then after waiting 45 minutes they get to me and tell me there is no reservation. As I'm standing there I get a text from Uhaul! I showed them my reservation number but that didn't help. Then the agent puts me on the phone with an absolutely rude woman. How is it that back to back customers reservations were screwed up? The agent did nothing to help. Also the location is like a third world country grocery store. Horrible service. The back of the truck was full of water so I had to push all the water out and mop it before my stuff went in. It was very dirty inside the cargo area. They also didn't apply the same discount I received at another location so I ended up paying $8 less for a 16 ft truck than I did the 26 ft truck for the same time and distance. He said he didn't know how to apply the discount. I will not be using this location again.Philip C.

I showed up to 2155 Credit Union Ln, North Charleston, SC 29406. Where the trailer was supposed to be but when we got there they said that someone was supposed to have contacted us that our trailer we rented had a blow out and the changed our pick up location. But we never received a call when we got to the new place we walked into the adress they gave us but there where 2 other businesses there with no signs on there place that indicates they rent u hauls. We went to the liquor store they said no that it's next door. When we go into the grocery market they had no signs were to go the front Conroe pointed to another counter and said they do there. When we got done with the paper work they stayed inside and never came and look at the trailer or helped hook up. Thankfully my brother was with us we barely were able to lift the trailer up to the hitch it was a 6x12 cargo trailer witch didn't have a crank handle and it was in the dirt. When we lifted the trailer up it ended up rolling a little bit and smacked my truck. Didn't leave any damage. When I brought the trailer back they didn't tell me we're to put it or come out to see if I needed help unloading it took me 10mins to get the trailer off my hitch and that was beacuse of how heavy the trailer is and it was just me. This location is not easily marked, there are not good directions for where to leave a U-Haul and it is not a safe area. We had issues with the app loading that prolonged our time there and were concerned about safety. Driveway is littered with glass and bottlesRobert P.

The people running this location didn't even speak clear English nor the they reporting accurate mileage for mile out or in therefore customers are being over charged.
