The person who gave me the truck was rather short with me and then also gave me the wrong truck, creating an issue when I returned the truck. He told me not to complete my mobile check in because he was completing the check in for me on his end, but then didn't change the number of the truck I was getting. I felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave very quickly.HOPE S.
The truck had half a tank when I picked it up. He lied on the form and said it had 15/16 of the tank, leaving me with an additional $63 bill. None of the additional equipment I rented was there. He laughed and said â€œI was shit out of luckâ€ would not refund the money he basically stole from me. Over all the pick up location was terrible.joshua R.
My feedback here is not for the Portland Street Service Center (which was fine), but rather, for what happened the day before my reservation. I received a call from a UHaul representative THE DAY BEFORE our major move to tell me that the 26' moving van I reserved a month prior would not be available in Burlington, VT, and that I would need to drive 1.5 hours to St. Johnsbury, VT to pick it up. That's three hours on a moving day that I spent driving to pick up a van when the entire time I thought it would be available in Burlington. Why did you contact me the DAY BEFORE our move? Do you have any idea what we had to do to accommodate these changes? Not only did we end up spending more on our move because of the fees associated with moving other reservations, we also missed our final walkthrough appointment. Please, UHaul, do not ever contact a customer THE DAY BEFORE a major move to essentially tell them they have to drive an extra three hours on a moving day to pick up a van. WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE FROM UHAUL MAKE THE VAN AVAILABLE IN BURLINGTON??? I RESERVED IT A MONTH PRIOR!!! WHY PLACE THE RESPONSIBILITY ON A CUSTOMER???ALBERT O.

There was no lock on the storage area. We live in a relatively safe area so we were ok but it would be nice just for peace of mind. The attendant for the sign out and return of the truck was very nice and accommodating. It was a helpful solution to our dilemma and I would rent one again. ðŸ˜Šjanice E.

Given that everyone is Covid sensitive, you wold expect that at least the inside cab was disinfected. It was disgusting. Someone had several small dogs in that cab and there was fur everywhere!! There was drool on the windows and spills on the floor with fur attached to it. I am allergic to dogs, so the pleasure of cleaning went to my 13 year old on moving day. Not impressed. Also, the cab leaks rain thru the seat belt hole on the passenger side. Not impressed as we travelled thru many storms and I only had one change of clothes. Soaking wet shoulder...we paid a mint for that rental and will think twice next time.CARL K.
Portland is dirty. The guy took forever to help me. Seemed more concerned with his cell phone. Would not give me my deposit back even though it was brought back in perfect condition. Made me wait for uhaul to mail me my deposit back. I would not recommend this location to anyone.christopher C.

to start the truck was dropped off 40 miles from where it was suppose to be so i had to make a 80 mile round trip to get the truck not a 8 mile round trip to where we where told drop of was to be then told all hooked up and ready to go and find out he never checked lights on trailer and they did not work after talking with him doing my own work on it got parking lights to work no brake or turn signals total of over 2 hours on hold got someone and they sent a service person out got them working that was a total of way over 5 hours of dealing with it in the rain loaded truck and hooked trailer back on loaded car and the ratchets had not been serviced or lubricated so did not work proper i had to spray with wd forty to allow then to tighten properly trips to Roanoke was fine truck run great got there went to make a courtesy call to where truck to be dropped found out no longer a dealer he helped some but as i said he was not a u-haul dealer and he was very helpful but i still had no place to drop on hold 45 minutes she answered she goes can you hold i was not happy said sure why not only been 45 minutes now she hung up called back and 45 min on hold again that lady was nice and after a time found me a place to drop of on Salem drive only 4 miles away i will tell you i think your service is not good in many ways now with that said the last lady i talked to and the lady that name was Nancy they where both very nice and helpful and the gentleman at the u-hual dealer where i did drop the tuck off was very good and pleasant its to bad that you send things out that are not ready for the road i am glad i am a all around person and can do work on trucks and trailers someone not knowing about things could have loaded a car that may not have tighten down proper i am sorry to feel this way but i do have a nice day thank you Daivid Oh Ps the truck was not clean on inside floor was dirty and dash glass never cleanedDavid L.

Our truck was an 24/7 pick up and the assigned truck was completely obstructed by cars. It took 1.5 hours on the phone with uhaul to sort this issue. I would not recommend renting from this location.LYNN B.

This location is closed for the next two weeks. We only found out because a "friend of the owner" was driving by, saw us siting there, and told us as much. There was no sign on the door or message. We had to cancel our reservation and re-reserve a truck with mobile pickup, all while sitting on the side of the road. I will not rent from this location again.Ryan A.
Unbelievably bad customer service. It's in the contract for you to call me the day prior to give me a place to pick up the uhaul. What I didn't expect was to have to drive 50 miles in the opposite direction to pick up the uhaul from where I was moving. This resulted in me needing to call 3 times to get a service agent who cared enough to help. The first guy hung up on me, the second told me there was nothing to be done. And finally the 3rd gave me a free day to pick up the truck early and extra mileage to cover the distance of the move. If that hadn't been done, I never could have finished the move in the time necessary and would have left me paying another 200 dollars for one day. That would have screwed me over in so many's I can't even type them all here. I had to cancel several things in order to come get the uhaul a day early. Way over complicated what should have been a simple move.Zachary L.
Someone came to help us right away and we just left the truck where we parked it and he said don't worry I will take care of it. Everything excellent then we get a receipt by email so quickly. U-Haul is the greatest. So helpful and incredibly easy.RICHARD W.

The place is mess, Attendant was not helpful or friendly. Then he ripped me off for gas. Drove 95 miles put 5 gallon of gas in for $25, could not but more send they did not take cc. So here's my issue. I had a drop off point in White River Junction. When I called to find out which location (there are 2) I was informed that I had to return it to New Hampshire. That was not the agreed upon return site. After I called customer service, very poor by the way, they said tough I had to drop it in New Hampshire and they wouldn't help me in any other way. I ended up dropping it in St Johnsbury and I will NOT be charged an extra fee for that since you all changed the drop location. Unacceptable behavior on your companies part. So your customer support, which is very poor, would get a 1 on a 1-10 scale with 10 being high and 1 being terrible.Michael M.

Location was easy to get in and out guy was nice but never gave us any paperwork .so we didnt know milage etc to tell the uhaul company when we had a issue. Called and left a message about 4 charges on my account for 2 rentals nobody has called me back the uhaul app sucks kept freezing my phone up everytime I used it. Also when I called in to dispute something I waited 20 mins for someone to answer the rep was friendly and polite but he put me on hold to transfer me to the dispute dept and I was on hold 40 mins and nobody picked up.vickie B.
Better selection of trucks at all locations, 10 foot box truck was very loud and the box sounded like everything was being slammed from wall to wall while going 10 under the speed limit everywhere on good roads that weren't full of pot holes or tight turns. Seats don't have much space to move if you are tall or have long legs. Loved the back up camera so you can comfortably back up using side mirrors and know that you're not going to back over someone. Plenty of power to tow or haul whatever you need which was very nice. Equipment was very clean and looked almost new.John H.

The truck was stuck had to wait for them to pull it out. The guy was rude stating that was just a parking lot for them (I-haul). The truck had not been swept out garbage to include plastic gloves were in it. I think part of the reason it was stuck was that it didn't have winter tires on the truck and this is Vermont. There was only one person at the drop off location and when I called from the gas station prior to dropping it off, I was told to park it across the street, because of the size of the U-Haul. When I took the paperwork and U-Haul truck key into the drop off location, I was told to put everything on the desk. I told him that it was full of gas and it had been swept out as required. He told me I was all set and would get an email or a text for the billing. He did not inspect the truck, but told me he would move it soon. Not what I had expected?Douglas T.

I Had a great experience with the owner. Truck was clean had gas in it I had no issues what so ever! He's always busy which means he does things right.. He's good at what he does....jennifer K.
The only issue I had was I ended up an hour after my pickup time and didn't realize my reservation had expired halfway though my checkin process. As a result it took 20+ minutes to get everything sorted. The video is a bit misleading making it look like 2-3 minutes. The remote validation process was at least 10 minutes. It wasn't clear that I stayed in the app the whole time I figured the person doing the remote validation would text or call to say I'm good to go. A few of those details can be improved: clarity on what happens if you're late, more text communication, more clarity on the remote checkin process and what the order of events are during it.Jessica I.

I would never recommend this location to a friend. The business was supposed to open at 8 am, he showed up at 11 am. This completely derailed my day and ended up costing me money because I had to cancel the help I hired at my destination. I'm pretty sure he was drunk when he finally arrived. He charged me for things that I didn't get and specifically said I didn't want on the order. I'm uncomfortable with him having access to my credit card number, because I don't trust I won't be charged again or my information stolen. I expect a minimum level of professionalism from UHAUL, this was an unacceptable way to conduct business.Matthew S.
Asked to have the return destination changed to a closer and more convenient one. He supposedly did that but when I checked the contract before returning it was still the Barnstead location which ended up putting more miles on the truck and getting charged for overage.RICKY H.

This location is more a filthy auto shop than a queen U-Haul location. The personel was misinformed as to my drop off time. After receiving a call from U-Haul and being told I could drop off after hours, the person that this location told me my drop off needed to be at 12 noon, which had passed, and wanted me to pay for an extra day. I of course refused, noting my conversation with U-Haul, which I believe is archived somewhere in the system.mark B.

The equipment was clean however there is definite water leaks, and some questionable patch work on the roof. This in no way was the dealers fault but I'm certain the last person who serviced this RV did so in a hurry. Check lower front corners and roof out for leaks. As a former employee and manager for this MCO and someone who still owns stock in the company and is a member of the investors club, it's disappointing when our equipment isn't up to par.Kevin H.

The Littleton UHaul did not have a unit for me and I had to drive 50 miles out of the way. They could have called me. I was supposed to be charged $14.95 but was charged 35.00. I am very disappointed.Richard M.
