The attendant couldn’t get it to work in their computer, so they called U-Haul direct and they got it done. It took over an half hour to do and I felt that was way to long.

Aside from the store appearing disshevilled and a bit grimey, the storekeeper is abusive towards UHaul customers. He has made me wait at every instance (five rentals in the past 30 days) to both rent and to return the vehicle, while he serviced other customers and did whatever on his phone - talking, texting, browsing??. On average, renting from this location wastes over an hour of my time at each occasion. To reduce my wait this time, I completed the entire transaction on my cell phone and went inside only to collect the key; his response was that I had really screwed him up by doing that, and proceeded to redo the rental using a different vehicle, citing that he was hoping to collect an extra $15 from some other customer based on the fuel gauge - Im still unclear how that was supposed to work, but he clearly is expecting to cheat someone out of an extra $15 somehow. He is not only abusive to UHaul customers in favour of others, but requested that I review a text exchange he was exchanging with another customer, and made a disparaging commment to me about a disbled individual who was in his store. In the past couple of visits, he gave me grief about refuelling the vehicle at a location other than his, claiming that I am taking his money. Tonight, he threatened to charge me a cleaning fee if i rented a van from him again and refuelled elsewhere, pointing to an alleged piece of dirt the driver's footwell. To sum things up, the behaviour of this individual comes across as disingenuous at best and perhaps even fraudulent at worst. This is my last try at dealing with him. I'll use some other rental agency next time. I advise caution when doing business with him - take pictures before & after, etc. Sounds like a hassle? Yeah... That's why I'm going elsewhere next time.

UHaul needs to counsel its franchisees about berating customers for refuelling at a station other than the renting agency. I was told last night by the owner "I'm not happy." And "Don't expect any favours next time you want to rent. I might not rent anything to you if you're going to [gas up elsewhere]." And "I don't care about the $10 I get from UHaul, I only do this for the extra revenue from gassing up." UHaul customers are routinely made to wait until all other (gas, car wash and convenience store) customers have been taken care of. It takes 45 minutes to get out on the road from this location. I'll be looking to rent from someone else next time i need a truck. As a repeat customer, I dont expect to be treated this way. No, as ANY customer, this is unacceptable.

This location is in a gas station. Although I may have been in front of the line it was clear that some one buying chips took priority. It took far too long to get the paperwork done after seeing a dozen or more people served in between me.

I had asked for a 17' truck and was told it does not exist and i would have to settle for a 15'. Our stuff just barely fit and we had to leave some things behind as we could not do 2 trips. It took almost an hour to get the rental in place because he kept leaving what he was doing to wait on customers from the gas bar and customers wanting to purchase lottery tickets. When one of the customers said she would wait while he dealt with me he told her no as it was going to take another 1/2 hr tor me anyways. If he hadnt been interrupted so many times i am sure the process would have taken a fraction of the time that it did. This left us with less than the amt of time that we were hoping for, He also forgot to include the price of the appliance dolly and furniture cart of which i had to pay for separately. The truck was not full of gas (something i think would go a long way in customer service) when we received it thus necessitating even more time to fill it. There was also a misunderstanding about some moving blankets that he insisted we stole!!! I wasnt aware that we had to rent them. I borrowed 2 and thought i had put them in the back of the truck when we returned it. However, it was close to midnight when we unpacked my vehicle and the blankets were buried under stuff and not noticed in the dark. We received a call the next day accusing us of stealing and that the police had been called. I was naturally upset that i was being accused of stealing when it was just a misunderstanding. Once i realized that the blankets were still in back of the van i immediately assured him that i would bring them back. He told me he didnt want them back and that i now had to buy them. For sake of arguing with him i agreed to purchase them so that he would call off the police. I tried to explain that it was just a misunderstanding and that in no way was i intending to steal anything but he didnt appear to be convinced. He wouldnt let me finish a sentence and kept insisting that my 2 sons purposely moved a van to that area of the parking lot just so that they could steal 2 blankets. I mean REALLY???? I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone now and i will never rent from this particular U-haul establishment again. A simple phone call asking about the blankets was all that would have sufficed and i would gladly have returned them with my full apologies. I really wasnt aware that you had to rent them. I saw them sitting outside on a crate and just assumed that i could borrow a few. He also chastised me in front of customers in the store that was not very professional in my opinion. My brother had words with him as well that apparently didnt go over very well with him either. All in all a totally unsavoury experience that i dont wish to repeat any time soon.

GREAT staff at the Petro Canada U-Haul location!

the problem with this location is, it is a Petro Canada gas station, and usually there is only one person working at the time, who has to look after customers buying gas, lottery tickets, propane, etc. and also the uhaul business. both times when I rented a van and a truck, there was considerable customer traffic, and the employee was back and forth, as uhaul terminal not near the main cash register.

Easy to pick up. Van was clean and new. No issues other than the owner of the gas station wants you to fill up at his station or he gets an attitude.

I had to pay $200 to drop the trailer at the location I wanted to because the pick up location person used MY ADDRESS as the drop off location for the trailer.
