I rented a 20 foot uhaul for two days, I explained where I was moving from and to and how long I would need the uhaul. With that being said I should've been told ahead of time on how much I would be charged. However 28 days later I get billed for $484.00 because I went over the mileage even though I explained how far I was moving and how long I would need the uhaul. I am very disappointed and I feel as if I had been basically scammed and severely ripped off. I was not clearly told how much more it would cost. Clarity is horrible!!!Crystal L.

HORRIBLE experience overall. Never intend to use U-haul again. I ordered a 26' truck, on Wednesday, and the day before I was scheduled to pick it up, Saturday, someone called to tell me there wasn't a 26' truck at that location, only a 20' truck. The lady on the phone was VERY rude and displayed horrible customer service. Then on my pick up day, my pick up time was 4pm, I received a phone call that I would have to pick the truck up by 12pm because no one would be there to give me a key. Keep in mind â€œPearl'sâ€ is a gas station that is open well past noon. When I picked the truck up no inspection was complete. I didn't sign anything, I was just jaded a key and had to try each door of the trucks in the back until I found the correct one. Then, I received emails with places I was supposed to sign where there was just â€œXâ€ where my signature was supposed to be. While using the truck it started to rain and the passenger windshield wiper was broken, so I could literally only see out of one side of the window. Lucky it was the driver side. Upon returning the truck, I put 6 gallons of gas in it, which brought it back to where the tank was at. Still, I was charged another 4 gallonsâ€¦meaning, according to the mileage reported on the invoice, that truck only gets 6.7 miles to the gallon. That truck averages 10. Again, upon return, no inspection was completed. I was just told to park it in the back. Horrible, horrible experience. I will never use U-Haul ever again.Charles M.
I was supposed to pick it up at a Sam store off when I got there I was told I was supposed to get it somewhere else that was unacceptable . Then when we was loading my items the door would not close had to call for roadside service that was a major inconvenience . It made my moving experience a nightmareBetty C.
This was not my first choice of pick up location. It is a grungy little food mart. Not inviting at all. Will cancel my truck next time if I have to go there. Gave us no paperwork showing starting mileage or anything.Paul C.

The rental guy called four hours early and told me I needed to pick up the truck RIGHT NOW. I told him I wasn't scheduled until 1pm. He said no. Now. I finally was able to pick up the truck around 1 and he seemed very annoyed. Handed me a key and said it's around back.Joseph N.

The inside of the truck was clean, the outside was filthy. I got no walk around, no inspection other than what I did myself. I could barely understand the guy behind the counter at the gas station. Are there any locations in Bsrdstown KY, that are U-Haul rentals first, and not gas stations first with the U-haul functions as an afterthought?James E.
Pickup was a mess the man at the counter was super rude. He told me they closed Uhaul remtals at 5. After inisting I had a pick up at 6 he finally got on the phone and I was given the key. Drop off was easy and a different guy working the counter was super friendly.Robert T.

Originally I was supposed to pick up the truck on Thursday at the Preston highway location. When I got there they had no 15-foot truck for one way and told me my reservation was not until Friday. I had workers to help move stuff into the truck that day. On Friday the truck was not to be picked up in Preston highway area but instead in Mount Washington. Since I was already a day behind schedule I called the Mount Washington area manager to ask him to call me when the truck got there. He told me it was not there yet and this was after 12:00. I then called the U-Haul office and they checked and said the truck is there and put me on a three-way call to Mount Washington. Now he said the truck was there. We go to get the truck and he doesn't even give me a contract told me everything was email. Also there was supposed to be a dolly in the truck and there was not. He told me he doesn't have any dollies. My drop-off location was originally millville Delaware which is about 8 miles away. U-Haul changed the drop off location which was 20 miles away and there was no one there. We put the key to the truck in a lock box after locking up the truck. I was not happy with this U-Haul move at all. The truck itself was fine though.Deanna J.
Online my only option was a 2 day rental. I took the truck back a day early and with over 20 miles less than allowed but was charged full price. I will tell everyone I know not to use uhaulTony C.

It needs to be more clear that this is a U-Haul rental facility. I was confused and uncertain about whether this place was legitimate because it was just a random gas station. The personnel was not helpful, and at first refused to help walk me through how to use the equipment. I was told by U-Haul customer service that when I arrived for the rental, someone would help me learn about how to use the trailer and attach my car, because I was nervous and had never done it before. When I asked the man at this rental place, he told me to watch "a video on YouTube" and only helped me after I was clearly distressed about the process. I was also charged an additional $270 by this man, which I am disputing with U-Haul because I did not authorize this charge and it is listed nowhere on my contract.savannah E.

This was not a fault of Perals, but my original location was elsewhere. When they didn't have the equipment I ordered Uhaul did not contact me to change my pick location. It was by chance when I stopped at a random location that i found my new pick up spot which was Perals.Nicholas C.

The seats were damp and there was water standing in the cup holders. The rubber flooring under the pedals was also pulled loose and bunched up under the brake pedal, making a VERY un-safe condition. The staff was not very friendly, and communicated very poorly. If I had not just recently rented from another location, I would have had NO idea about my responsibilities and the requirements i needed to meet before I returned the unit. If I was not in a predicament, I would have never followed through with my rental, I would have gone to another U-Haul location.MICHAEL H.

U-haul representative was rude, not informative. He did not ask me if I replaced the gas in the truck. My fiance had to ask, after we started to leave. Then he over charged me by 100.00 per my original quote. I was not given any paperwork when I check out, and left the gas station. I had to call back to the main branch after viewing my bank statement. Regional office, was polite and helpful. Especially Robert. I will not rent a u-haul truck from Mt. Washington "Pearls" again. Have them go somewhere else. Upon return they need to checkin the UHaul in a timely manner. Workers did not checkin the Uhaul in 24 hours after we dropped it off. The location is a gas station/store. His UHaul business was an after-thought. He couldn't find my order, and had me get on his laptop and look for it using my reference number while he continued to check out patrons of his gas station. Tell the person who is renting it it is reserved out. Not expect me to bring it back 35 miles out of way. 14 hrs early an pay extra then resolve the problem myself.... Very disappointed in overall treatment.Teresa M.
The truck was dirty with mostly hay and other small items left behind. The truck had Mark's on it that werent put on the paper as well. When we mentioned this all to the guy he just blow it off. I know there was a language barrier but we shouldnt have to clean out our truck before using and we didnt want to be held responsible for marks we didnt cause. We however got no where with him. I will say this isnt our first bad experience, the 2 times prior to this at a location in Bardstown, KY we have received dirty trucks from there as well. If a charge is being applied for a dirty truck then someone needs to be cleaning it out and every truck needs to be cleaned before renting it out. The online form kept going back to less than 24 hour rental, we even spoke to the guy he said 8 am return, but all emails said 8 hours prior at midnight. We do have pictures of the truck before we left the lot.James T.

person there was not interested in helping at all. I had rented and paid for two days, but only kept the truck for one day. I wanted to ask about a refund but the person would not/could not address my concern. I am out over one hundred dollars simply because the person would not discuss a refund. The service from this location was very good however I rented a truck from the Preston highway facility a week plus in advance the truck was not available and no one told me prior to me getting there. The manager of the Preston Highway store was very apologetic and found another vehicle for me.The issue at hand is the truck was smaller I had to drive 30 miles out of my way to rent a vehicle and I didn't get the job donetodd C.

I had initially set up a rental over the phone with another location nearby. When I arrived the staff there notified me that â€œuHaul Corporateâ€ had taken the trailer and I would not be able to rent it. The staff was friendly, and arranged for me to pick up the same trailer at another location nearby. I drove to the other location and if I had not pushed for the local propieter to contact someone by phone then I would not have been able to rent from this location either. He continually told me, with severely limited English, that he had no trailers there (the trailer was parked right outside). I told him that I had confirmed the reservation with the other location and he reluctantly called someone by phone and I was able to rent the trailer over the phone. Both pick up and drop off were unsupervised and no assistance was given hooking up the trailer or going over any safety points. Overall, I was extremely unsatisfied with every aspect of this rental except the trailer itself. The trailer was in perfect working condition, other than many tie down points (this was a car hauler) were rusted and bent. The straps were fine and I was able to utilize the trailer for my purposes.CORY J.

The company was personnel were nice. Unfortunately the tires were not fully inflated to normal 80 psi upon pick up. I could drive the truck but I had difficulty finding a place to check and fully inflate the tires.Doris H.

Keep in-mind that this is a convenience store first; deli second; gas station third; and also a U-Haul provider. The guys are nice, but barely speak a lick of English. My experience was totally disorganized; didn't have the furniture dolly I requested; had to talk with an English-speaker over their phone to complete the contract; and they neglected to disclose there was a â€˜per mile' charge for in-town use. $100 for a 20-footer for 4-hours â€" ugh. Worst part is that it was on empty when I got it and filthy. I'd go to another location if possible. Good luck!BRIAN M.

Pearls was great but the size I reserved a couple of weeks ago was not there. I reserved a 15 foot and had to get a 10 foot. Uhaul is a joke and I will never rent from you all again. Everything is a hassle when dealing with the company.Phillip T.
Took a little while for the owner to get access to the check in site. Waited almost 15 minutes just to be able to start the process of getting the truck because computer was so slow. Gentleman was incredibly nice and apologetic, equipment was very clean and well maintained, and the process of checking it back in when we were finished was incredibly quick and painless. Did not have the 26' truck I reserved. Had to take extra load due to this, and I get charged an extra miles fee. Had nowhere near the amount of blankets I reserved, did not have the dolley I reserved. Took almost 45 minutes to complete the pickup process. I was charged an extra day because my drop off location closed early that day. Then, I get the bill and am paying some damage/missing fee with no explanation what that issue was.
