I was sent to unhook and drop the trailer in a specific location by myself. Certainly not the service I received at other Uhaul locations.

Thomas MerrifieldI was moving a client from Bluffton s.c. to Orlando Florida. I made this reservation about a week and a half maybe 2 weeks in advance. I was supposed to pick up a 26 foot truck from 11 Oliver ct in bluffton got a confirmation for it. I had stoped by the office cause it was by my daughter's gymnastics. So i went in just to confirm and im glad i did cause they didnt have said truck on the property nor were they going to get one. This was 4 days before my departure. My client was riding on me and me alone to do her move for her worry free. Not the case. So i said to the man behind the counter. Please do what you can to find me a truck .As her house was sold and had nowhere to go other than the destination in Orlando. He found me truck in beaufort. 20 miles out of my way.so 40 round trip. I was to be at her house at 9 a.m. my appointment for pick up was 8 a.m. i was at the beaufort property at 8 a.m. nobody at the office. He didnt get in till 9 a.m. so not only did i have to wait an hour to get the truck .my ride to the u-haul property did as well making him late to work .not only that 2 others were hired to help with the loading, so they had to wait an hour as well holding up the loading process. So i get in the office at 9 . Of cours a little irritated cause of the lack of communication on U -haul and waiting there for an hour. The offica had nothing i had paid for and needed for the move. I needed appliance dolly, 24 blankets,and a lock.none of whick were on the property so i needed to go buy blankets and a lock at the local deot which waisted more time and money. There was scaps of food on the floor of the truck. a dirty plastic spoon and empty red bull cans. Not to mention there was barely any gas in the vehicle when purchased 38 miles to empty to be exact. Another stop and more money right off the top. 120 dollars of gas and the wasted time with that all beins said my nephew was in Orlando with his mother at Disney. I had a reservation to meet them for dinner which i did NOT make due to lost time on U-Haul's behalf. To be honest this was the worst costomer service i have ever had. And i have used u haul many times .not sure i ever will again. I honestly feel like i should be fully compensated for this .horrible experience. I have never once had to say that to any company of any kind my whole life

Barry BumgardnerIt took 45 plus minutes just to rent a car carrier. I was first in line got their just before 9 am. Look at the time on my rental contract of when I finally got the equipment. It SHOULD not take thar long. Uhaul struck out on this one.

Frank YoungI ordered a 26' truck. When I showed up to pick it up they didn't have it. The clerk's response was " I don't have your truck because the previous person didn't bring it back". They didn't try to help me locate another truck. From their response this seemed like business as usual. I settled for a smaller truck and wasn't able to move all my stuff. I asked the clerk if he could of called me to let me know it wasn't available and he responded "I suppose so". Not the best experience! It will be hard for me to do business with U-Haul again.

CASSANDRA SIMMONESWhen I picked up truck it was listed as 7/16 full of gas and truck showed 160 miles to empty. I returned truck showing 180 miles to empty, so more gas than I received truck and closer to 1/2 than 1/4 full, so looked like 7/16 to me and certainly more gas than when I received it. But after drop off I received a bill that said it was returned 3/8 full vs 7/16 full and was charged for 4 gallons of gas at $4.50 per gallon plus a service fee. Four issues with this process, 1. When you only have 1/4 and 1/2 lines on gas gage, 3/8 vs. 7/16 is subjective assessment by pick up and drop off attendant. 2. No proof was provided to justify the extra fuel charge. 3. This puts burden on customer to try to put enough gas in truck to get it back to 7/16 full, running truck while filling to see when gague hits that subjective amount ( all against warning signs on not fueling with truck running) which I did, and 4. Forcing customer to put more fuel in than at pick up to not get hit with fuel charges, which I did but still hit with charges because of subjectivity of process. 5. Puts burden on customer to stop for fuel at least one time more than they otherwise would (middle and end vs. Just end) unless you can get lucky or calculate fuel economy and put in enough fuel at first stop to finish trip and end with 7/16 tank of fuel. Simple solution is provide truck full and expect it returned full as all major car rental companies do. If not returned full, then customer pays to bring it back to full. No subjectivity and no extra burden on your customers.

Wanda MayseThe check engine light was on but the employee said it would be ok as the truck just needed maintenance. We had no issues although the truck looked like it was ready to retire. 90,520 miles with several scratches and dents and the black weather stripping above the windshield was very loose. Glad it didn’t rain!
Edward ChelliceThere really wasn’t any checking upon return. I briefly spoke to the agent and he took my keys and explained that I would receive a email receipt which I did. The receipt was accurate but I had taken pictures of the vehicle and dashboard information both before and after to make sure things were accurately reported in the final bill. Overall the final results were fine.
steve werstiukMy intention was to rent a cargo van. However, there was none available. The UHaul representative recommended that I use a box truck which I did. I had never driven a box truck and was somewhat intimidated. I must confess, I had a GREAT experience. The truck was easy to drive and I was able to complete moving items that I purchased. I will most definitely use UHaul on Salem Road again and highly recommend them to everyone. The representative was a consummate professional who provided excellent customer service!

Roslyn FelverHe told me the truck was full when picked up in MD which was notvtrue. I had to go fill tank to avoid a $75 gas charges and was told that would add extra mileage. So mad, I went and spent $50 + mor dollars, returned truck and left keys inside.
