When office personnel leave to go out on the lot a phone number should be post at the door and that employee should have the phone with them and answer it. I had a 3 pm pick schedule, arrived 10 minutes early and found door locked. The phone number posted on the door, when I called multiple times no one answer. The employee finally came back to the office at 3:10 pm. So I waited outside for about 20 minutes.

More than half of the lights on the trailer were not working. When I called this location to report it and try to get it resolved I was told that I had to get the 1800 number from the email they did not have it on hand to give to me. They seem to not care for my safety towing their trailer. When I returned it to this site they wanted to know all about the lights and then resolve it. Is safety a concern to uhaul?

Signs weren’t visible. I thought I was in the wrong place. I asked was this uhaul when I walked in and she rudely pointed to a small uhaul sign near the bottom of the door amidst many larger signs on the door. And rudely said there’s a sign there and one there! I continued to get a rude attitude throughout the whole ordeal

The person who was issuing the trailer did not know what she was doing. She kept losing the information in the computer, and even though I did an per-registration on line, she kept asking for the information which was in the computer. It took over an hour to get the trailer, and meanwhile, the line was backing up behind me. Maybe it is not the attendants fault. Maybe she wasn't trained properly.

I was called 1 hour prior to my pickup time and told that my reservation was overbooked!!

The location itself was fine and the staff was as helpful as they could be; however, I had a horrendous experience with UHaul directly, which destroyed any good will towards UHaul. I'm currently trying to start a customer action file.

The customer service rep was not in the office when I came. I had a last minute change to my pick-up location, so that's understandable. But the business cell phone had been allowed to run out of battery, so I couldn't contact anyone.

I have used U-Haul many times over the past 15 years. This was the best U-Haul experience I have ever had. The office is very clean and organized. I was waited on immediately; the staff person was very professional and assisted me with any questions or concerns I had.

Outstanding Customer support! I was pulling a UHaul Trailer from Nebraska to Virginia, Prospect KY was my stop for the night place. The trailer's light harness had disconnected from my car and was damaged by the road. I needed a replacement section of the light harness to replace the damaged part to enable safe lights on my trailer. I called ahead to "My Uhaul Dealer" and contacted the UHaul manager (Paul, dealer #26434) at 13306 West Highway 42, Prospect KY 40059. I explained my situation and my requirement. I don't know Paul nor have I ever met him. I was a voice on the phone who required assistance from UHaul. First, Paul expressed concern to get the trailer lighting fixed for safe driving at night. Second, Paul offered to stay for 2 hours after closing time, until I arrived to ensure the correct part was replaced and to ensure proper operation of the trailer lights was restored. I declined the offer so as not to inconvenience the manager, especially after closing time. Finally, Paul call me back and authorized me to stop by his dealer location, to swap a good wire harness from one of his similar trailers and leave my damaged one behind... AT NO CHARGE. The customer care, his kindness, support and trust provided to me, a stranger but a customer, in a time of need, is commendable and a noteworthy example to the quality of character and leadership shown by this Uhaul Manager. I am so pissed off right now i will never use your company for my business family ect. I had a tire problem called customer service yall extended my time and i went to turn it in and instead of being charged 83.00 i was charged double which was 193.00. I am sick to my stomach ur your customer service lady that I rented through and Yorktown Virginia was absolutely rude cussing cussing at my children very disrespectful and I will never ever use your company again

My wife was given a quote of $153. When I picked up trailer, I was charged $173.80. I filed a complaint at Deer Park U-Haul in Newport News and the Owner/Manager gave me a written quote of $153 after tax for the same destination (she had to submit an "alternate price request"). Godfrey Waswa from U-Haul responded and said it was due to price change. U-Haul Reference #1845763. I think I am owed $20.80 because the difference of the original online quote to my wife, the same quote from Deer Park manager (after Ocean Storage had charged me the the $20.80 excessive fee).

Requested pick up location was Mercury ave.....enroute to pick up I get a call giving me an alternate pick up location....30 mins farther away. I get to the originally requested pick up location and there are 3 5x8 trailers (he size I reserved online). Reps at the Mercury location give me the excuse they are reserved for local moves. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! If I could have cancelled in lieu of a different company UHaul would have been history. If I have a choice in the future I will choose Penske or another brand. Very poor act UHaul. BTW, the ladies at the alternate location were very nice. Much better than the Mercury Rd reps.

I tried the Newport News branch first and was told they wouldn't rent a truck out over memorial day for longer than 12 hours so tried Ocean Storage where they also have uhaul trucks. The employee was very patient and helpful. However, the system would not take my booking nor my credit card so she had to call customer service and was wating for an answer for an extremely long time. The male whom finally answered too was very helpful and rectified this situation and my booking proceeded. I was given a price of $59.00 for 3 days. When I returned to pick the truck up I was informed that I would be charged .99 c per mile. This information wasn't told me initially and would have caused me to replan my moving if i had known. I also wasn't allowed at this facility to leave my vehicle at another location which caused for double mileage. So my fee when from an agreeable $59.00 to several hundred, I would have never have rented this, but found myself in a bind due to arranged commitments and proceeded to rent the truck despite not having the finances to do so at such a high charge. It is very deceiving when the trucks advertise the option leaving th vehicle at another location and then not been informed aobut all the hidden and extra costs. I didi call customer service whom shared they are requesting a reduced fee but have not heard anything at this time. Very deciebtfull service that I would never had agreed to if I had been told ALL the fees up front!! I would have done this with my own trailer over a period of time.

They only have very limited amount of equipment. No one helped make sure everything was hooked up right and no one to fix anything’s if they were needed. By the time we got everything hooked up we discovered we had problems with the lights and went back for help of which the lady in the office had left with only a phone number

Thanks for your professional and friendly service. My experience was truly a great one working with Ashley and Beverly. I plan to recommend this U-haul and storage facility to everyone I know especially those who are in need of these services. The facility is very clean and made to create a safe atmosphere for storing personal items.

I requested moving blankets with my order, but they did not have any. I'm not certain if this is the location's fault, but if it is, they caused me a serious inconvenience. I made this reservation weeks in advance, so I cannot understand why something so simple and important as moving blankets could have been omitted from my order. Otherwise, everything at this location was good.

The place looks good and secure. I did not like that Uhaul nickel and dime. I went over a few miles and had to pay extra $14usd. I returned the truck 48 hours bedore schedule and with more fuel than when I got it. And that was not recognized. I like how I was helpep by the personnel but the rules of the company do not match that. Only will use it again if there are no more possibilities.

I drove 40 minutes to pick up a 26 ft truck with an auto transporter just to find the truck wasn't there. I understand some people bring equipment back late however, I courtesy call saying the truck wasn't there yet would have been nice.
