Drop-off closing time was misstated by two hours. Closed at 6pm rather than the 8pm we were told. Check-in was therefore only told that we were OK with no formal procedure of pictures, inspection, etc. Made us nervous.Albert L.

I had used the app to arrange for 7:00am pickup. Went to the lockbox to get the key out, no key. Called UHaul and their rep was very nice, but ultimately the best advice she could give was wait until 8:00 when the store opened or go to another location and she'd transfer my info. I waited since the time it would take to the new location would now be same time Ace would open. Once Ace opened, the UHaul guy moved all the trucks returned overnight before helping me. Went inside and their computers were down. I finally got out of there 1 1/2 hours after I initially arrived. Pulled out of parking lot and the engine light comes on. No way I was going back. I'm already way behind schedule. Got the truck back after saying a few prayers for the transmission not to fail. I liked the app and the ease of its process, but the overall execution was terribleTyler M.

Was surprised the drop off location was open on Sunday. Thought I would have to use the U-Haul app but was instead met by Ace hardware rep who took care of the return.Martin M.

Takes like 30 minutes to get a truck not including the very long wait in the lineâ€"very outdated system. Most uHaul locations didn't even have trucks/vans available w/o reservationâ€¦ so we waited in line for no reason. We are renting trucks here, not opening a bank account. Slide my ID, I'll sign some papers, and give me the keysâ€¦ should take 2 minutes. We have 1 main job, which is renting trucks, unless uHaul corporate is satisfied with their revenues, there should be trucks when people want them. I know they're not cheap and there's logistical challenges; but the business is renting trucksâ€¦ so no customer should be turned away or made to wait an hour to walk-in and get one. The return of the truck was easy, and quickâ€¦ not even 3 minutes in total. That's how picking it up should beâ€¦ as close to that experience as possible. I'm available to come in and fix all this, $350k a yr is my rate ;)michael R.
I asked for pads and did not find out until I was there, that they are not provided. I also received truck with 1/4 gas left. This is NOT how a person should expect their experience to start. Not a fan of U-HaulStacy D.

I had to wait over an hour to get the rental, because the guy at the desk was having issues checking me in. I call customer while he was trying to check me in and they were not help. I finally got the rental after an hour, to find that the rubber on the door was falling off. For 700+ Miles I had to deal with that. On top of that the truck had trash in it from the previous renter.Qusam A.

The truck died after i parked it in the parking lot in front of my apartment. I tried to start the truck again and it won't start. I called the road side assistant and they dispatched a mechanic to take a look at it and it took 2 hours to get the mechanic on-site. After troubleshooting the issue, it turned out the truck can't be fixed and it needs to be towed. I asked the customer service about an alternative and they advised that i have to wait till the next business day to go to a location and pick up the truck myself, which i saw it is insulting and not appreciating the customers time and commitments. I had to move my stiff that day and U-Haul didn't bother to work with me. I asked for a refund and have them pick up the broken truck and they did after wasting another hour over the phone talking to the customer service.Omar E.

I filled the gas tank to the line that was requested before dropping off the truck (which was more gas than what came in the truck to begin with, by the way), the station was 1/4 mi from the drop. But when I got my receipt, they charged me for 2 more gallons of gas. I thought that was pretty lame.ADAM F.

POORING RAIN. Taking photos and then the drop box was at the front of the building. The text said to take the "KEYS" and place them in the drop box. Got to the drop box and seen a spot for the contract. Had to go back to the rear of the lot, unlock the truck and go to the drop box again in the rain.Kenneth S.

There was a piece of body panel sort of hanging, I used a zip tie to make sure it didn't fall off. It was also a bit leaky and I'm glad I didn't pull onto my new driveway with it.Scott B.

I don't really understand why the online process for pickup was so lengthy. I did everything on the phone I needed, and it still took over 20 minutes inside the store to get the key to the truck. Fortunately moving is a long process and a little extra time is not that big of a deal, but I did have about 10 people standing around my house waiting for me to come back with the truck. Not sure if this process can get rid of the redundancies and streamline it to get you rolling faster, but it would be helpful.Alex W.

Had a reservation for 12:00. But my truck was not available untill 12:45. This caused problems for the move for all people I had helping and no one at Ace hardware offered any discount or help with this disadvantage . The back of truck was slightly dirty with some mud. The man who checked me in called and said the truck I reserved wasn't available. I had to take a smaller one. We requested moving pads and he told me they didn't have them when I arrived. The folks there were very nice and tried to be helpful but the check-in process was extremely slow. They had only one computer and several people picking up trucks. Perhaps that was unusual. I hate giving them a bad review but my experience was horrible, some of it not Ace Hardware's fault. The truck was filthy inside. I did not notice it when I rented it or when loading but everything had black dust all over it when we got to our location. We will have to hire a steam cleaner to clean the carpet. My second complaint is not really Ace Hardware's fault, it is U-Hauls. When I rented the truck I also reserved blankets and moving dollies. Well, it turns out that that location does NOT handle either one. They rent trucks, they do not have supplies or blankets or dollies. U-Haul should know this and it should not have allowed me to reserve them. Huge issue for us, trying to move heavy furniture with no dollies and no way to protect them with blankets. Not sure I will trust U-haul again in the future.michael F.

The dolly I rented was not in the truck, I had to go all the way back to the store to get it. The inside of the truck was covered in dried mud. My belongings were filthy once I was done.Bradley M.
