I've used Mt Pleasant Hardware to rent U-Haul moving trucks before. I highly recommend this location due to their excellent customer service. Super kudos to Brenda! I've moved out of their area, but honestly would still use them if at all possible. Our move was terribly stressful and done in awful heat, but they made it easier by just being kind and understanding. I can't thank them enough!

The engine check light was on which was concerning from the moment of rental. It would have been great if they could have gone over a few functional items - like the tow haul button, the mirrors, the back latch, etc. the height clearance etc. walk you through the basics don't assume customers know. They were missing 2 of the rental items I had paid for and couldn't figure out how to credit me back the $27. Seems like it should have been easy. I await my credit.

I took the location because it was a 10 minute walk away. The cup holder was dirty with loose tobacco I believe. The cab also had a coffee glass bottle stuck to the floor behind the driver seat along with a shipping box on the floor. The location is a bad location to have to squeeze out of with an over 15' truck. The trucks are tucked behind a narrow hardware store customer parking lot, leading into narrow busy downtown streets. As far as picking it up the employee I talked to inside was great. Then the owner/boss came out of no where and scrambled all his paperwork while telling him to hurry up. The owner/boss then took over and threw me my receipt while telling the nice worker to get out of the way...annoying when your paying 840 dollars for a one way trip to Maine, and just want to get concerns answered.

I looked the truck over when I picked it up, including the inside of the truck bed, but did not get into the truck bed until I got to my storage unit. Upon opening the back of the truck a huge waft of garbage smell hit me and when I climbed up into the truck it was clearly coming from inside of it. My guess is that someone had rented it to move garbage. I brought the truck back early as it was unusable with that strong of a smell. I requested a refund but was denied because I had “driven the truck off the lot”. They offered me a different truck but with no discount after such a waste of time. I was told to call corporate so I am STILL in the process of trying to get a refund. The truck should not have been rented out in that condition.

The truck ran rough, and has an exhaust issue. It was loud even with windows up and AC on. Bacuase of the exhaust/rough running engine it burned more gas then it should have, costing me more money then I should have had to pay for gas. The truck smelled badly of cigarette smoke which was also annoying and uncomfortable for me. Keep in mind, I couldn't put the windows down because of the engine noise. I was pretty unhappy with the whole thing.

Store staff was friendly. However it took me almost an hour to get the truck due to issues with their computers. Now, I rented the truck for 24 hours on a Saturday. I asked them how to to return the truck and their mentioned for me to park and drop the key at the Dropbox. Because they're closed on Sunday's. On the following day I see a charge of $20 for after hours drop. How fair is that. Makes no sence.

There is nothing that has to be done different. Mark took care of the reservation and Elvis took care of me when I got to Mount Pleasant Hardware. There was also a young girl there and a black gentleman that were friendly as well. I've always had good experiences at this location whether it was renting a truck or needing services from the hardware store. Thank you, Kenny T.

Used self check in but after completing the required questions the server was not available so I had to go into the location to complete check in, pay and get keys. When I returned I experienced the same or with the server before t after 3-4 tries it worked. Not an efficient service and creates wasted time.

The owner and his daughter were both so helpful, kind, and had a sense of humor even during the busiest time of the day. Truly seemed like genuine and nice people. If I'm ever in need of a uhaul I'll definitely be returning to this location. On top of the truck help, their store is packed with all things hardware and more. Absolutely worth a trip for that alone! Bravo for a family business!

Very upset with the rental agent. When we rented, we explained that we were awaiting a closing date and would need it anywhere from 3 days to we weren't sure. We asked if we could rent it 3 days and extend if needed, and were told we could rent it for 5 days, then extend, and if we did not need it that long, we would receive a credit for any unused days. When I questioned it, he said it would appear as a credit back on our charge card. Then when we returned it, we were told he put it as a one way rental and there would be no refund, as U-Haul does not refund. We would never have agreed to rent it for more than the 3 days if we knew this. Your agent assured us it was in our best interest do do it this way (we didn't get any discounts) and never mentioned a one way rental. He even suggested we drop it near where the house was as it did not matter. Then it all changed. It appears as if this was all designed to cost us a lot of money we can't really afford to lose when it was unnecessary if he had done what we wanted in the first place. We deserve that refund as he misrepresented the entire transaction.

We had a problem opening the gas tank to refill it. At the gas station, I had a AAA driver come to check it and he couldn't open it, as a result, I was charged $18 for gas that could have cost me $6. I drove the truck 22 miles

I had a complaint about my bill they told me that I had returned my truck 2 Days Later that was a lie I returned it the same night I took it out how about around 6 a little after 6 I'd say put the key in the Dropbox I waited for my bill didn't get it till two days later they charge me for having a truck for 2 days then I called reported it and let them know the guy refund it some of the money well long story short there was supposed to refund me my money back some of it my bank statement says they never gave me back my money they just charged me put full price please someone contact me or a refund me the money that I'm old and if anything can y'all check the cameras out this location because I came in that evening like I said talk the truck and left the keys they're telling me my gas wasn't full and the truck was 2 days late please let me know sincerely Cindy Northup

I HAVE RENTED FROM UHAUL PLENTY OF TIMES IN MY LIFETIME AND HAD NEVER RECEIVED A TRUCK AS DIRTY AS THIS ONE ON THE INSIDE. BOTH DOORS HAD TO BE SLAMMED VERY HARD IN ORDER FOR THEM TO CLOSE.THE ENGINE SUCKED AND THE PASSANGER MIRROR DIDN'T WORK.WOULD NEVER RENT FROM HERE AGAIN.
