Not sure what has happened to U-Hal recently. My pickup location was changed 5 time (no joke, 5 times) after I kept getting "assigned" someplace I did not choose and was not at all convenient. Finally got the truck at an unmanned parking lot........had to call a number and wait for call back. Tried to go through a check in process on laptop and GPS didn't think I was in correct location. Had to wait to download mobile app and then could not get the scanner to read my drivers license..........total mess. Was then "assigned" to a different drop off location the morning of my return, turned out to be some abandoned junk store and had to walk around and try and find someone who worked there. Geez! This process has somehow become U-Haul deciding what they think is convenient for them and informing you where you will be going and when. I felt like I was an employee of U-Haul during this rental process as opposed to a customer. If there's a net time rental, I'm going to ask that I get paid for moving your trucks around where you want them to be, since this company is no longer about being helpful to their "customers".

The location itself was dirty and unpaved. Very substandard setup. I did not care for the whole automated online process. When I called the recommended phone number on site due to me having trouble locating the keys to the vehicle despite the online instructions, the guy was a real smart-ass — “If it were a snake, it would’ve bitten you”. The description online of where the keys actually were did not match their actual location, so it was not “obvious” placement, despite the guy’s comment. Also, I was put in a position to where I accidentally ran over an important box due to having to reposition the returned truck after I was instructed online that I had to submit photographs of ALL sides of the truck upon return. That I did NOT appreciate at all. So, I will not be using this location or this type of service in the future. Give me the old in-person setup on an actual paved lot anytime.

Would give 5 stars but this location needs to be paved. It was extremely muddy. Very glad someone was there when I showed up. I like the self serve idea but having an attendant is preferred for U-Haul rental. Chose this location due to short distance from my house. Equipment was in great shape so would use again. Just not after rain.

Need to come up with a better process for individuals with temporary drivers license. Took me 55 minutes to complete. And that’s with me calling just to nothing. Staff needs better training

The windshield was completed dirty. Not dust, but a smudge all over inside and outside that I had to hand clean. The truck body was completely dirty as well. The truck was also damaged from a prior renter. This truck should not be in circulation with U-Haul. Finally, there was no one at the U-Haul site for pick-up during posted live hours.

I needed a truck at the last minute and the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was wonderful and got us going within a few minutes. Will definitely use this site for my future needs and highly recommend to others.

As part of moving, you look for items that will not increase your stress. Renting from this location did just that- no stress with the whole rental process. Just a few minutes on the app and I was on my way. Great experience, highly recommend this location.

As a woman it was muddy, it was dark, and no one was there who could help. As a matter of fact three other people drove up to rent and didn't know how to do it. Also the number that was displayed to contact for problems wasn't even a working number. I think that if you have an office some employee should be there at all times especially when they know you have reservations. Marla Diaz

Robert was not even there during normal working hours, there were no pads i requested in the truck, check engine light on in truck, Robert had no cushier service, very rude to a customer.

This is a remote drop off site with no personnel on site or at least it was when we returned the trailer. This status should be made clear to customers so they know what to expect.

Sorry. I don't ever leave bad reviews. Maybe the person that was suppose to receive the trail I was dropping off had a family emergency. If so, I apologize. I busted my butt to get this dropped off before 5pm and no-one was there to receive it. I called twice to the number provided but no one replied. The trailer I rented was perfect and did a great job. I had to inflate one of the tires twice but other than that great.

Returning the vehicle was a little tough. Trucks were a tight fit. Came into the area of return and had to do a turn around to get the truck facing in the right direction. I order 2 dolies, appliance and a normal 1. Didn't receive the appliances dolly but got charged. Try to contact no answer, have up.

The 15ft truck I rented needs repair work. Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank " P2096 - Engine light was on when I picked up truck. Poor gas mileage Front end stabilizer bars need replaced. Dangerous vibration at speeds of 55-65

Videos explaining process and online help do not match this location. This is an unmanned location and the process for picking up keys and checking in are completely different. There is no 'desk' to go to and you mus call the number at the location (which does not answer immediately) to get assistance.

Detail more completely what to expect with "remote rentals". The expectation was that remote pickup procedure would go much smoother and much, much quicker. Above average frustration.

We didn’t clearly understand the “local move” option and that we had to return the truck to the same location. If we’d have known that, we wouldn’t have done that. We tried to pick a return location closer to our new home, but that didn’t work apparently. Got charged 14$ for SafeMove when that wasn’t something we asked for. Check-out was incredibly difficult despite following instructions and not have the order show up in the app. I spent at least 15 min on the phone trying to get it figured out. Check in was equally difficult because the QR code at the location was broken and couldn’t verify I had arrived. Owner of location didn’t answer phone. Finally, got it to work on the website with my location. The entire experience left me incredibly frustrated and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately, I have to go back tomorrow and rent another truck to finish the move.

On the website it says this is an in person location. This location is simply a parking lot with a phone number to call to check in the vehicle‘s. No service is provided at this location. When you call the phone number to check in the vehicles, nobody answers the phone number. I had to call six times before someone returned my call. The employee then gave instructions that were incorrect, and when I called to expressed my concerns regarding discrepancies he was a rude, used explicit language, and offered to charge me less if I gave him a better rating for his poor service. This location should 1) answer the phone 2) have service as advertised 3) not threaten customers regarding ratings and improve tone/language. I would never use this location again.

U-Haul trucks were parked in muddy areas. Getting to the vehicle was slippery due to all the mud. I had difficulty using the mobile check in so I called the local number that was listed on the sign and the man was rude, asking me if I saw the video. (Which I did)I he then proceeded to tell me that the keys were in the vehicle and not in the lockbox. When I returned the truck to the same location, I had trouble with the mobile app , it couldn’t identify my location. My privacy setting was on. I had to call The U-Haul rep who was very helpful and explained that the privacy setting on the safari app must be on as well. It would be nice if the video explained this step by step, too. I rent U-Haul trucks quite often and this is the only location that I would not recommend.

Excellent service. Location was closed when I picked up via mobile app, but the proprietor was at the site cleaning trucks and he assisted me as i went through the process. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The original location for my pickup was Boerne, TX. Got a call from U-Haul one day before informing me they didn't have enough 10 ft trucks. Had to reschedule me to Camp Bullis Rd and do self dispatch. Upon arriving at Camp Bullis I had trouble with self dispatch. I called help line and the lady told the keys for my truck weren't there and she wanted to send me 20 miles farther! I insisted on help. She called the owner. He came over and saved the day! He was courteous, friendly, and got me on my way.
