The rental truck was damaged up the sides and had a foul smell inside the cab. I had to get an air freshener to cover it up over the 7 hr drive. Also the rear differential had an old leak that left 2 oil spots on my new homes concrete driveway. This is no way reflecting of Midwest Ace Hardware as the trucks had been dropped off at that location in the condition they were in.

Checked in online only to wait for almost an hour in the store for them to figure out if they had the equipment we reserved and to do the paper work which was supposed have been complete online. The truck had service lights on and was in rough shape. The biggest issue we had with this was during the delay we had movers reserved and being paid by the hour, through UHaul.

What happened to getting a full tank of gas? When I got the truck, the fuel gauge was at 3/4. Just before I returned the truck, I stopped at a nearby gas station and filled it up to beyond 3/4. When I got to Ace Hardware, the gauge showed under 3/4 and I was charged a gas surcharge. Gas gauges are not that accurate, so please go back to the system of a full tank.

This place in Manhattan Kansas has always been my go to location they truly care about costumers. Always helpful and quick to fix any issues that my arise. The owner of this location should be commended for the caliber of employees under his employ. They bring great credit upon U-haul and provide service as outstanding U-Haul brand ambassadors. There was fingerprint dust all over the 3 handles of the truck. You could see where police had taken the tape and pulled off fingerprints. I got overcharged by over 100% after I dropped off the truck. It's creepy to be given a rental (there weren't other trucks available) that's been the scene of some sort of crime.

Ace Hardware as a location is fine and is as good or better as any U-Haul center I've used. What needs serious help is your mobile check-in process. The upfront work I did at the time of reservation saved no time, and once on-site, the process was time-consuming, cumbersome, and I still had to go into the store to get a key, furniture pads, etc. If you're going to offer mobile check-in, it needs to work more like car rental services where the key is in it, any upgrades handled, and I can hop in and go. Without significant improvements in the process, I'll never use mobile check-in again and would recommend others avoid it, as well.

Even though the trailer was brand new. the back rubber seal was not water tight and during the trip the boxes toward the door got wet. All that would be needed is a small plastic wedge to add to the door to get it to seal all the way.

I had bad experiences on the weekend with a younger worker who was so rude. When I picked up the Uhaul that gentleman was nice and helpful. My tow folly was unsafe and had to drive to another city to get one. Then down the road 3 states later had the same issue with another trailer.

Arrange some seating for customers who need to wait in line for a bit. First thing in the morning is always a bit hectic. Those whom are moving you can expect us to be tired already. You guys are doing your job with inspections and such. Customers would like to have a seat if waiting for more than 10 min. Overall not bad.

I picked up the trailer on the way to the location I was picking up the stuff to bring back to Tennessee. After picking up the trailer I got to the site of my pickup and realized the trailer was not big enough. I asked for the next larger size trailer and was told they would rent me another trailer but I would have to pay for both. I only needed one trailer.
