Even though the trailer was brand new. the back rubber seal was not water tight and during the trip the boxes toward the door got wet. All that would be needed is a small plastic wedge to add to the door to get it to seal all the way.Nathaniel Y.

I had bad experiences on the weekend with a younger worker who was so rude. When I picked up the Uhaul that gentleman was nice and helpful. My tow folly was unsafe and had to drive to another city to get one. Then down the road 3 states later had the same issue with another trailer.Walter C.

Arrange some seating for customers who need to wait in line for a bit. First thing in the morning is always a bit hectic. Those whom are moving you can expect us to be tired already. You guys are doing your job with inspections and such. Customers would like to have a seat if waiting for more than 10 min. Overall not bad.Dolly H.

I picked up the trailer on the way to the location I was picking up the stuff to bring back to Tennessee. After picking up the trailer I got to the site of my pickup and realized the trailer was not big enough. I asked for the next larger size trailer and was told they would rent me another trailer but I would have to pay for both. I only needed one trailer.Tony H.

The only issue I had was the online self turn in. The app couldn't find my location and even when I entered it manually, no luck. I had to pay the additional $20, I was to tired to bother with it.Dannia B.

I had a lot of difficulty and confusion with the reservation. The different representatives would contradict each other, and many messed up the reservation whether it was for the wrong day/time/place so I was on the phone for well over 2.5 hrs. When going to pick up the rental the woman was very nice but she said the reservation was messed up and was actually scheduled for -15 hours. Then when I went to return the van virtually, the link would not work and I sat on hold for over 40 minutes before it disconnecting and the â€˜immediate' online chat option never responded to me. So I had to go the next day and return the van inperson to avoid the fee.Megan M.

This comment is not about Midwest Hardware but rather a comment about Uhaul. This was a shockingly bad experience from booking the truck with uhaul a month in advance, all the way to the drop off. Uhaul changed our pickup location twice and had us driving 1 1/2 hours just to pick up a truck. They didn't notify us of the change until the day of the pick up and had our entire family scrambling to change our moving plans to accommodate uhauls unorganized mess of scheduling. Not enough truck available. Uhaul phone rep spoke poorly of this location stating that they were â€œ just a bunch of teenage boys who don't know what they were doing.â€ When we arrived the full grown men who helped us were very helpful to us while managing a line of angry customers whose uhaul truck rentals are screwed up just like ours was.Shannon H.

I've been using UHual for a few years now. The idea of a $20 fee when we don't use the website/app to return the trailers is pretty disappointing. When I dropped off in another location in the same town 6 weeks earlier, I got an email telling me they found the trailer and everything was good. Instead of feeling good about it, now I'm concerned I'm going to be nickel and dimed with stupid fees. Because of the $20 fee with the signature, I'd recommend other places until I have to sign it there too.Michael C.

Uhaul policy needs to be updated or the way you book changed. Nothing wrong with the location simply everything wrong with Uhaul reservation policy in general. I should not be able to book a certain vehicle for a certain day at a specific location when it shows available. And then the next few days get a call giving a complete location change over 50 miles away from where I even need to use my uhaul. AND the uhaul we did get wasn't filled with gasâ€¦BUT I still had to put some in it so I wasn't charged. Ended up putting too much but won't ever see that money.Alexis C.

The lady Clerk at Ace Midwest Hardware in Manhattan was rude. I reserved at truck online and paid $38 something and the clerk at Ace told me "so what" - really. When I returned the truck the man that helped me must have had a bad day. Surly, surly - it took a very long time for him to look over the truck - I really think he did something else while I waited. The truck worked - I rented blankets at Ace Midwest in Junction City KS and those folks were on the ball, cordial, efficient - what is with Ace Midwest Manhattan that they have such an attitude. I am a 70 year old woman - rented lots of trucks over the years - never been treated like that.sheryl B.
I called for three days, sat on hold forever and eventually hung up. The second time I called, early in the afternoon, I was told they would take my number and call me back. They never did. I called the next day and was still on hold as I drove across town and stood at the counter where no one was there 20 min later. They acted as if my questions were annoying and couldn't give me an estimate on the price to do what I wanted to do. I had to stand there and use a calculator on my phone to determine the best course of action. All of this could have been done over the phone if they would ever answer or call back. The truck itself cornered like an aircraft carrier and despite being only a 10' truck half filled, would not go the speed limit on interstate. This is a safety hazard. There is obviously a limiter installed, the gas pedal had about 8" of play where it would try to speed up and then the motor would shift back down and not let you accelerate. They also do not tell you about all the charges that will be applied, such as a hefty "rental tax" beyond the rental fee and mileage. In my opinion, all trucks should be full when checked out so that you can just fill it when you return it instead of trying to guess how much gas to put in at 4.50/gallon to get to 11/16. WTF is that? 11/16? I don't want to have to do mathematical calculations and estimates of guessed gas mileage at the end of a friggin move. Overall, they made me feel like I was a burden to give them my money, and it was too much money to begin with for a little truck and a short distance. But what can you do? Capitalists are going to be what they are and exploit all they can from people in need. And when you have to move, you have to move so they take you for all they can.GARY H.
I had to switch trucks. The first one only had 36,000 miles, but when I applied the brakes the front end shook like it needed an alignment IMMEDIATELY. I called, went back, switched to truck with 86,000 miles and it was much better. No issues while using.Anna P.
