Very nice people, ready on time, easy return

Joseph PI applied for over the counter service and was set up for online service, which wasted 30 min of my initial reception time to move. Secondly I ordered a dolly, the dolly I received had a broken wheel ( $7 lost) and the vehicle was dusty/dirty inside the cab. I also wasted 25 min returning the truck, due to online return service. I was not happy with my experience and wish to receive reimbursement for the dolly.

gwen cHORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! Online pick up Instructions are HORRIBLE! You need to rewrite the instructions for fixing a mistake, or a rejected photo. It took me MORE THAN 1 HOUR to finally get the keys. An observant assistant (Natasha) noticed I was struggling and called me to talk me thru the process. She saved the day.
Eugene GThe online system was nothing but frustrating. I selected Counter Pick Up but was told when I got there that I had to do it on my phone. I have an Iphone which apparently doesn't work well with your system. The lady at the 800 number was no help either. The gentlemen who manages the Midas store stepped up and helped me out as he sensed my frustrations. Without him I wouldn't have been able to complete the very frustrating online process.

ROBERT KI usually go directly to an actual Uhaul store but this time I went to a Midas store to get the truck, I have to say this was the worst experience I ever had with Uhaul and will never use a pickup location again! I will let my friends and family know the same ! The actual store and person working there was average BUT I basically was doing everything as if I was an actual Uhaul employee it was awful!!
Luis MI originally had truck reserved at Lakehurst Rd location in Waukegan for 7:30 pm but gate code didn't work. Called and was redirected to Midas location for same size truck. Truck was dirty inside and had slightly over half tank of gas. Was able to retrieve it by 8:10 pm but clock still running from 7:30 pm. Trucks A/C shut off every time you accelerated and fan control was broken but at least on. Windshield wipers were garbage and had to use Allen wrench to adjust drivers mirror that was looking at side of truck and not road. Transmission shifted hard several time from first slamming into second. Anxiously waited whole trip for truck to break down. Not comforting or a pleasant experience on a 600+ mile trip.
Tad G1st off when I arrived at this midas location it took 1hr for me to get the truck and I reserved it online. Second because of this my return time was 56min late so they charged me a 50 extra bucks for another day and didn't even let me keep the truck for the extra day. 3rd the interior of the truck had food every where in the front under the seats. 4th this truck had transmission problems. It would jerk at random! My overall experience was bad. I have rented from U-Haul many times at other locations and this was the worst! The guy at midas were great people. I just hate that U-Haul would middle man this situation and let midas take the heat. Very poor

Geri W**** DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. This was a TERRIBLE experience. First, when I tried to pickup, the uhaul website stopped working. The staff at Midas were reluctant to help me and kept telling me to call Uhaul. I was on hold for 40mins. The uhaul representative called Midas (I heard him answer the call). And then he grudgingly helped and got me the key. Before I returned, I made sure to install the app. I finished the process on the app, but it didn't give me any directions on how to return the key. Again, I went to the Midas guy who said Uhaul would give me a code for the lockbox to put it in. I called Uhaul. On hold for 1hr. The representative didn't have a code to give me, and said there was supposed to be a dropbox somewhere - well.. Midas threatened me that if he took the key, I would get the $250 lost key charge. In the end, I just tried all the lockboxes, one was open, so i put the key in there and walked away... I was still on hold at this point for 1hr 20 mins b/c the represeentative without the code put me back on hold.

Gregory DAt 7:20 am on the day to pickup the truck for a one-way move I received a call that the pickup location had changed. Location was 15 miles away.
Jerry VI had a very hard time during this pandemic in getting a truck because it wasn't a regular location, it was just a Midas and the person in charge there wasn't even the nicest to help, it took the third try to talk to him in helping me with my account thru his end because my account had lock me out, not only that I think I got over charged by five dollars because of the mileage not sure how to fix it. But I wish I just had someone there to direct me touch free. I can still use my eyes and ears without touch. This experience sucked
KELLY CThe truck was in good driving conditions but was not clean at all. There was dust all over the dashboard and door panels. It was not vacuumed and a lot of dirt stains on the floor. There was also strong odor of cigarette. I found it shocking that the application was asking me wether the truck was clean for another family to use and once I clicked no it was adding a cleaning fee for a mess that i did not do at all. I put the yes clean for another family because that's how it was given to me and I have video recorded of how dirty it was when I picked up for evidence if they try charging me a cleaning fee.

Rosario AThe mgr was horribly rude and sent us off saying equipment wouldn't work (hitch). We left to go to another U-Haul spot only to find out the original equipment at the first place would work and had to go back. After an hour of all of this the mgr then made us feel uncomfortable in his shop. He also didn't come out to help with hooking up the trailer to our car, nor did he come out to inspect it was done properly or check the trailer lights. I will never again use this place - ever.

Forrest WI was charged $70 dollars, plus another $3.57 was taken from my account for a truck plus fees that came up to $69 and some change. The representative at that location did not or would not issue my receipt because he wanted me to pay an additional $3.57. I will never rent from UHaul again. Overall it was horrified and I will tell everyone I know to rent from somewhere else besides here.
Lashandra WYour website was down at this location and I had to notify the manager of a terrible skipping transmission. Regular maintenance should be done to ensure the customer is safe vs. the customer paying extra for liability and safety concerns.

Rafael SAllow more miles for trips because the drop off location plays a part in the amount of travel going to be done. Although I did not go over many miles(only about 5 or so) I still feel giving customers more breathing room to accomplish a move would be nice.
Aaron BIt took the guy 45 minutes to get my rental agreement ready off the computer. He changed what i already had ordered. Taking off insurance after he asked me 3 times and told him yes i want it. That took another 15 minutes for him to fix his mistake. Suppose to pick truck up at 10:00am. Was there at 9:50am did not leave out of the place til 11:45am. After everything was done online all i had to do is pay. The guy didn't know what he was doing 3 different contracts were printed out. Card was swiped 5 times. Very disappointed in u-haul today.

James HAwful service from UHaul in general! Bait & Switch - booked several days ahead of time and when we went to go pick up (at alternate location because suddenly our preferred location had no truck) it turns out the location we had scheduled to drop off at was not available either! we had to choose another location and when we went to drop off there - the location stated they were no longer affiliated with UHaul. We had to search out another UHaul location and drive there only to find out we could not drop off there without approval. 15 minutes on hold with customer service then to be disconnected. Call back again and after another 15 minutes on hold were able to arrange my drop off. Could not file a complaint. Evidently you have to return and pay for rental before you can request assistance/complain. I won't spent another 15 minutes on hold but I will never rent from this Bait & Switch company again.

Alex BOpted out of insurance on my reservation. Upon pickup I was given a price higher than the one on my reservation, turns out the employee slipped in safe move insurance without asking or even mentioning it at all. Total scam and the last time I use uhaul.

shelah gI reserved a trailer at the Grayslake location. But I had to drive to Waukegan to get it. That really is a miss on customer service. Make the customer go out of their way instead of honoring the commitment made weeks prior. Huge miss.
