I booked a truck for towing a trailer three weeks ago. I was told at that time that I had to supply my own receiver and ball as U-Haul no longer does. On the day of rental arrived at the location as a pick up truck (U-Haul) was driving away. Went in and was told by the clerk at the counter that U-Haul had changed the rental on Thursday to a van, however I received no such information as I specifically required a truck with towing. Clerk told us he had no other vehicles and could not get one and that the truck would be available after 3:00 PM that day which was of no value to us as we had to be in Oakville by 1:00 PM. Clewrk said U-Haul did this to him all the time. We called number provided and spoke with a reservation manager who said that clerk changed reservation nation and closest truck was Stoney Creek. Tried to explain that we had specifically reserved a truck and he told us there was nothing he could do. We asked to be contacted by a Manager. We were never phoned. We happened to circle the block and the truck was back. Went inside and the clerk said he was calling U-Haul as his system had our reservation removed and he could not find a phone number for us. If we had not gone around the block we would not have gotten the vehicle and would have missed our appointment. Very unhappy with lack of customer service at all levels, each blaming the other as opposed to taking responsibility and failing to have the vehicle we needed when we had reserved it three weeks prior. I would be extremely reluctant to say anything good about this experience and definitely would not recommend it to anyone given the horrific lack of service.

The truck I received had a VERY strong smoke smell and was not clean inside - there was garbage and debris in the cab There were also cigarette burn holes a couple places in the ceiling

Be more transparent with the pricing quotes over the phone. We got a quote over the phone stating the cost would be around 50 to 60, then when it came to the actual cost it was twice as much. The cost want the problem, it was the lack of transparency. I seems like they quoted very low in order to get me in, then when I was there the switch comes into play. Then when the customer is in it's harder for a customer to say no at that point, since they are already partially committed. This kind of practice is dishonest and deceptive and it needs to end. Seriously, they had the same info before I came as when I came in after, yet the results were different. Just be honest is all I am saying.

The vehicle was terribly dirty and smelly from cigarette smoke. Ashes everywhere and garbage . Would lead me to think there was no sanitation. Very disappointed . Was expecting something different from U Haul !

Service at this location was excellent, the gals were friendly and helpful. Prior to renting the vehicle, I had purchased U-Haul cartons from this location and the fellow was also very accommodating and actually helped me carry them to my vehicle. This was my first time dealing with U-Haul and I found the whole process to be very easy - even reserving it online and sending my driver's licence online. I would have liked for the floor of the cab and and the back of the van to have been cleaner than it was, but the vehicle was well modern, well maintained and was very good on gas mileage. Thanks U-Haul for a pleasant experience!

We have rented from this location before and were quite satisfied with the service however with the reality of precautions for your staff the well being for your customers was not respected! We picked up our unit where it was obvious there had been no cleaning and disinfecting (wipe down) done in the cab of the unit. Personal drinking cups and bottles were left by the previous renter. I hope for your benefit our health is not compromised for this lack of care by this franchisee. I ensured the vehicle was wiped down and cleaned for the staff at our drop off location! I would recommend that as a company you follow up with our pickup location in Simcoe and suggest they review Covid-19 protocols. Kind regards Sue Baxter

The trailer tire pressure was badly off!! One tire was 25 lbs and the other was 65 lbs!! Had I not checked the tire with 65 lbs would/could have blown on the highway. Not sure what maintenance is completed on a regular basis but this should have been corrected before renting out.

When I booked, I was trying to use a closer location but your website showed not the size I wanted was not available at that location. I drove by that location twice to pick up and return this vehicle, and both times there were 2 in the yard. Would have been less kilometres and more convenient.

When I rented my 10ft U-Haul box truck the back smelled so bad I couldn't even stand it. I had to move one item in and step out for a breather. Smelled like music festival Porta Potty, if you want a higher rating I would look into bleaching that truck to disinfect carnage that has took place back there. Regards Trev

Our truck wasn't ready for pickup as it was reserved online two weeks prior. I was called the morning before and they had the wrong size truck reserved at the wrong location. Only then after my own inquiry did they ask me to switch the pickup location to Culver from The Queensway address. Upon picking up the vehicle which was supposed to have 24 furniture pads reserved, we were told none were there and that we had to get them from the other location. After going to the other location ( Queensway ) a woman says she only had 12 pads. She brings them out to me and they are soaked in water and have mold growing on them. After all of this Frustration I called customer service hoping to be assisted in light of what had happened, I'm met on the other end of the line by a gentleman named TJ who presumes to correct me of the details of my own experience I'd been having all day both over the phone and in person with other uhaul assistants. This TJ felt it more relevant to correct the manner in which I was presenting the details of my day then displaying any empathy for the situation and stress I was under. To the point of even mocking me over the phone. I finally did get the issues resolved, but all in all a horrible experience moving under such incompetence.

The location is fine, it's the Uhaul service that is a problem. I wanted to use the trailer for a couple of days but there is limited availability in our ENTIRE area. The same problem happened earlier this fall when I wanted to rent a truck to pull my boat to storage. There was ONE truck in the WHOLE area and then suddenly it wasn't available rent one day... despite sitting on the depot's lot for over a week! Your customer service helpfully suggested that they could set me up with a truck from Brantford or Hamilton. Those locations are 50+ km from my home. It would have tripled my cost and quadrupled my time on the road. Please increase availability of trailers and pickups in Norfolk County. The trailer that I just rented stank terribly!

How about a rating for UHaul itself!? For the last 3 times I've rented (always a 4x8 trailer) I have had problems including: no clear direction on were to pickup the trailer, trailer location outside of my area causing long distance trips, over charges thus needing to call to have corrected, wrong size trailer provided, different rates for repeat/same rental, and prerental online disappearing. There is a huge communication issue with your company - it's not the businesses that have the trailers as I've ordered online and via phone direct to the 1800 number provided. This will likely be the last time I rent from your company.

We were really disappointed with uhaul. Not the location. We booked weeks in advance and could not get the truck we needed at the location we needed so we had to go to a different location. And uhaul was completely indifferent to the issue and at times the female phone representatives were quite rude

Got a charge of 29 dollar + charge on my credit card because i accentially locked the keys in the truck. I had insurance but the person at the store or the person on the phone was not helpful. I should get the money the store took refunded to me . Will never rent from uhaul again more trouble than its worth

The 26 foot truck was like brand new it had 36,000 miles on the truck it's squeaks so badly that I scared people on the road. I only use the truck for 30 miles today. It must be taking more care of a truck that only has that many miles on it. The service at the shop was fantastic. I will rent again from U Haul Mike Shapiro thank you

We were lucky that my son had data on his phone to be able to do the return after hours. There has to be a better way. Both me and my husband do not have data on our cells and would not have been able to do the return. It seems like a sketchy neighbourhood and was not inviting when it was dark out. Would rather make the return at the corner of HWY24 & HWY3.

It would be nice if the store opened sooner. 10 am makes for a late start. If the truck could be picked up after hours without starting the clock, that would help.
