No one answered the door of the shop when we arrived to pick up the trailer. On advice of grandson who was with me, we just took the trailer from the lot as he has done before at UHaul. Unfortunately he based his experience on renting a van and not a trailer. Apparently, the same rules do no apply. Who knew? Next day while on the road I got a call from UHaul who accused me of stealing the trailer. Wow. This rental experience was a quite a mess. However, this is the second time I have rented a UHaul trailer and they are very impressive. Strong and pull true. Will rent again but not from those people.

Absolute worst experience with a truck rental in my life. Was specifically reserved in a location then they moved the pick up location 25kms out of my way, changed pick up time from 8:30am to 10:45 but still expected it returned at the same time, took over an hour to complete pick up, then charged me $27 for fuel even though it was exactly at the level it was when I picked it up. I will never use UHaul again. Awful customer service, terrible experience, I recommend going anywhere else!

There was no windshield washer fluid in the truck, and the windshield was very dirty. I also did not get the 10 furniture pads I paid for.

Vehicle had exhaust leak that went into cab of truck...headaches. Brakes poor, horn doesn't work,overdrive doesn't engage. Not the most shining example of yourfleet!

Service was atrocious, things were not confirmed I had to drive 30 minutes further at arrival. The attendant was rude and snapped at me which I snapped back so he decided to yell. My rate was supposed to be 92 or 94 I didn't take the dolly so should have been cheaper. The truck was filthy. Abs was on brake light was on truck was shaking. And a pile of soil was there to make it easier to tip the truck.

The lot is dark and feels unsafe. When I picked up, it was raining quite hard - the lock boxes with the keys were positioned so that I had to stand and be dripped on from the roof while unlocking the boxes and retrieving the keys. If this contact-less pick up is going to continue, recommend at least having a shelter with a roof and some lighting for the drop boxes - and more lighting at the back of the lot.

Not any issues with pickup location...its uhaul corporate which gave me problems. Was dissatisfied with having not been able to switch drop off location

The self serve check in process was horrible and I needed the assistance of the attendant to complete the pickup. I was told that the issue was due to my not picking up at exactly the right time. This is ridiculous. I have never picked up a rental truck at the exact time of the reservation. The app wouldn't accept any of my submissions, but gave no errors.

Location easy to locate . Parking area needs some attention ( mud, piles of fine stone at entrance, parking for your vehicle should not be the case of move your truck out and place your vehicle in that spot ) The owner was very efficient and friendly and even with Covid 19 the whole transaction was smooth . I will rent again from this Franchisee

The rep at this location seemed helpful while remaining very cautious about COVID-19. Return process was pretty quick and simple. U-Haul customer service from the call center was absolutely atrocious though. I will not use U-Haul again because of how awful the experience was. Our reservation was significantly changed multiple times within 24 hours of our expected departure. In the end, we didn't even get the truck we booked because there were none available anymore, even though we were guaranteed a specific size already. We also had to drive significantly out of our way to pick it up, adding almost 3 hours to our drive time for the day. On top of that, our finalized booking was actually wrong. The customer service agent entered the wrong pick up time and if I didn't call to inquire, then we would've been standing there 5 hours early twiddling our thumbs and wasting time. Honestly, I never ever want to go through any of that again.

The process was really bad. There was just one person dealing with all calls and customer support. In the piddle of the pickup call (waiting outside) the person put me on hold for 5 mins because someone else was calling about a rental (sale)

I have rented from other UHaul locations many times, first time at this location and also the last. I was reassigned to this location from my preferred location after booking due to equipment availability issues. The owner/operator was very unhelpful and abrupt/rude. He gave very poor instructions on how to proceed in picking up the rental, leading to a confusing experience at pickup. Then I was unexpectedly charged 50% in extra fees without warning after dropping off my rental, the first time I have ever been dinged for extra fees at any U-Haul location. Next time I'll rent elsewhere.

I have been renting UHauk on a regular basis. this is one U Haul that I will never go back again, and i would advise any one that wanted to rent an U Haul never to go to this rental site. It is a rip off artist. Be aware.

The location was hard to find, not well signed, and there is no waiting area. The checkin is a window. I did appreciate the flexibility to chose which unit I wanted from the available options. I do not like the liftgate options, so I was happy to get one with split doors.

My pick up location was changed from Almonte to Kanata. I received the first email about pickup in Almonte and 2 revision emails with different confirmation numbers. I received a phone call telling me I could only have the van until 2:30 pm and then the contract came through stating 24 hrs. It was all really confusing.

For the most part everything was O K. A little frustrating at times because I am in an age group that has trouble with all this technology ,text messages, pictures from ones phone ,etc. etc.

The truck smelled like smoke and when I flipped the visor a pack of cigarettes fell from it. The barcode scanner didnt work causing me and another client to wait for everything to be done manually. Other than that it was fine.

The gentleman running the place was friendly and helpful. Very nice to deal with. I think that truck needs to have the transmission checked, it took a long time to change gears. American vehicle with all signage unilingual english too

The man who spoke with me was rude, overbearing and unhelpful. He also stood too close to me without a mask and I was uncomfortable being that close to someone during this pandemic. A stressful experience.

The bar code did not work when I tried to sign in and get the keys for the truck. I called the 1-800 number and was sent to the French only line. I was transferred numerous times and was given no resolution. After 1.5 hours the gentleman at the location was able to help us. Terrible service. Delayed our entire move. We will not use Uhaul again. Also what is the $25 cleaning fee?

I would make the billing process more transparent. It was confusing as to whether I was on a weekly rate or the rate was arbitrarily chosen. You have to rent a van to understand this confusion. The person I was renting from indicated that they had nothing to do with billing and was pleasant but was reluctant to discuss the financing of the arrangement.

My problem is not at all with the location. The location owner was actually the only good thing about my entire experience. The app for the car rental did not work, requiring at the last minute my passport of a copy of my lease (?). That's after many useless steps of taking my own photos, photos of my driver's license, etc. If the owner hadn't happened to return, I would have ended up without a vehicle. My other problem is with all these hidden charges ($15 for collision damage, which I turned down at the time of the booking, cleaning fee of $25 (really? for a 4 hour rental?!) As they say lesson learned. A uniquely negative experience in my decades of car rental. U Haul is blacklisted for me.

It was tricky to get both the odometer and the fuel gauge in the same photo when there is a warning message displayed ("Oil Change"). If there is a way to clear the warning and display mileage it would be good to advise people how to do this.

I was surprised that you had to use your phone or iPad to complete the transaction. Not everyone has data on their phones. I know that this is how the world is becoming but we still have people who are either computer illiterate or cannot afford these modern devises. Tom was very friendly and helpful. Great sense of humour.

My biggest issue is with U-Haul. The reservation system is a maize that took hours to navigate. Because of this my original reservation never was processed. And then when picking up the vehicle a lot of the information had to be provided again and one had to have the ability to take photos and send them - let's make it simple.

Missing the dolly I paid for. Tried to call the customer service, was put on hold and eventually hung up on. Also, the man at the location was rude to my father and I when picking up the truck and was not helpful.

The original reservation was made for pick-up at a different location, but a truck was not available when it was supposed to be. The independent dealers had to search for a vehicle that would suit our needs, and one was found. I think that U-Haul could do a much better job of tracking the vehicles so that this would not happen.

The staff member you had at this location was a great guy who was doing what looked like the job of 2-3 people and managed to get everyone taken care of during these COVID 19 times. Very nice gentleman who works there.

Covid protocol was on place but poorly communicated. Info was passed among customers waiting outside in rainy conditions: call tel number posted in window to alert the 1 agent of your arrival. No pick up of call and mail box full so no message could be left.

I requested 24/7 online pickup at 7:30am, but when I arrived the website told me I had to wait until 8am when the location opened to complete my rental. I wasn't happy that I had to wait over half an hour to sign-in as I had movers waiting for me at my destination. When I was awaiting confirmation of my ID (which took nearly half an hour) another customer said he was already approved for the truck with the same number as mine (TM 2817T I think). I had the keys in hand at this time but I assume the truck was double booked. Once I had the truck it was great to drive and I have no complaints about the actual rental, but the check in process was not pleasant
