The drop off location that I reserved (and received a discount for, prompted by UHaul on reservation) was not showing when I picked up truck. There was a different drop off location and more expensive rate. The staff at pick up location was nice and helpful, but we lost time on our day waiting for them as they needed to call UHaul corporate support to get the rate changed back to the discounted rate I agreed to at reservation. Seems like it was just too hard all around.

carl hThis was a great U-Haul rental location. The couple working there were nice and friendly. Definitely take the time to enter all the information into the U-Haul app/website. This will save you tons of time checking out the truck. There are hard stops on their end if even a tiny piece of information is missing. So save everyone the trouble and upload all the standard information before you get there. Otherwise, the nice lady working there will have enter in all the information on her phone and it will take much longer to check out.

Ryan HWell first of all stay open for the hours that the business is listed for. JP automotive in burien Washington. I rented a van from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Was told there's no charge on my card. They're just holding it till I get back and we'll add at the miles and figure out the total at that point. Also just told to bring it back in 4 hours as I rented it for, so I did actually 3 minutes early. Early 3:57 p.m.. but there's no one there. No one answering the phone. No one answering the building. The door says they're open until 5:00. Called U-Haul customer service they told me to call the U-Haul something rather that will check me out for the vehicle. Otherwise I would still be responsible for a vehicle that I've returned and put the keys into the drop box because you all wasn't there when they were supposed to be. But I'm still responsible for the vehicle over the weekend? When I brought it back exactly when nothing's happened to it obviously but my plane is. Why should I have my name on it still when I returned it? Plus I was charged $42.91 immediately after I pulled out and rented the vehicle so that wasn't true when they said that that I was going to be charged when I got back. And the vehicle was in $19.99 van rental not a $42.96 van rental. So I got double charged. They were nice when we took the van but when no one's there whatsoever when I turn in back in, early mind you. Clean. Gas replaced. I went 4 miles. Was charged 11 miles, PRIOR to me ever even taking the vehicle out. So it was a guess? Because I have picture of the before odometer and the returned van reading as well to verify. So long story short, first I was lied to. Was told card is charged and one pays as they return. Obviously. Very much so. Thas Obvious and makes sense. I mean Why would you get charged prior to them being able to see what mileage you drove as it cost per mile? That's why I was surprised to see money withdrawn for my account prior to an exact dollar amount that was guesstimated. Because no mileage has been driven yet at that time. So the fact they put 11 miles or whatever it was was not accurate whatsoever. You guys will say that it was just a pending transaction. But"pending" transactions as anyone knows. Say I had $100 in checkin for example figuratively speaking, and I have a pending transaction for $47 my account will say that I have only $53 spendable or accessable because the rest in put aside for your "pending" transaction. And shows the same $47 TAKEN out of checking, by you.The EXACT amount of the difference is the amount that is withdrawn that I cannot access anymore at that point because it's held aside automatically to cover the upcoming charge. (The one that was made before I even drove the van). So it's most definitely taken from my account as I cannot access that money if it's pending. My main problem was no phone call, no email, not text, zero. Nothing reported to me when getting the van at noon all the way up until I returned it at 357pm. Not a notice , update, information, notice, acknowledgement of any kind in regards to the simple duty of possible letting the customer know you won't be there when I return since , like anyone else I would have assumed there are open till 5pm as it say on the door and the receipt. And internet. And webpage. Xnd corperst uhual confirms this when I talked to them as well. Worst of all is the customer service rep online tells me that "unfortunately my name will checked in with the van over Thanksgiving and the entire weekend, and I'm liable and responsible for it." No way! It's not MY fault your uhaul quit early. It's not my fault I wasn't called. It's not my fault I was charged prior to even getting to the first location the storage unit. These are all 100% uhaul errors. And I'm the customer. The customer who returned the van early.This is why I give negative stars. The erroneous miles and pretty much the whole darn thing should be credited for the hassle and experience as I've been a uhaul customer for over 45 years and NEVER had a issue prior that was anything close to this. I mean, not open when advertised they are, closing early, telling noone, including the driver of THEIR brand new $40000 never rented , was first one ever to drive for a rental, and they wouldn't be concerned about the vehicle?? Or if they planned on leaving one would think they'd notify me. And want to ensure the van was left in good condition. Which it was I luckily documented by picture. Everything on the parked it but when we picked it up it was on the side of the building on them road on a shoulder next to the building. So if it gets sideswiped or something by somebody which I'm sure it won't. But I'm sure as heck not going to have my name underneath it when I returned it on time as supposed to just because they didn't do their part of the agreement. Or do their part of the agreement by... I don't know following through? We're at that very least having the courtesy to Notify

ALI ASigned up for contactless pickup, only to find the truck in a gated area. When I asked for help I was told to present my rental agreement. Employee didn't seem to understand that I didn't have a paper rental agreement. I was told to "call U-haul." Finally, she agreed to process a rental. This seemed to be the exact process I would go thru had I walked in off the street. What is the point of booking online if the employees are unable to process these bookings. Frankly, I wouldn't usually complain, but the service was anything but friendly - and this is the second time in two weeks I have received poor service at U-haul.

Julia CWhen I had arrived to the JP Automotive a couple minutes early I had assumed it might be a couple of minutes to get everything together due to my early arrival. But with the 15' U-Haul arriving before I did, I also thought it would have mostly been prepped for my departure. Yet actually it was far from it and still sent off with me as is. The truck was completely filthy with some sort of liquid stains all over the floor, the cab reeked of smoke, there were random personal belongings still behind the seats and a half smoked marijuana joint in the driver seat. And finally the gas to which was marked on the uhaul customer print out at 1/4 of a tank of gas (as I was told by JP Auto & u-haul company standards should be grounded or undrivable until filled to a proper level of gas), the truck was actually at half of a 1/4 tank and I barely made it to my actual apartment address in Seattle. After all was given to me in such conditions, all the business owner did for me was sweep out the back of the truck (that I know of/ did not physically see such action preformed). I can understand some minor things here and there, but what my wife and I received was completely unacceptable including the price being higher than what was quoted at around $650.00 with insurance included (actually $717.00). I also understand that during the summer times where most people move and truck availability can be slim (especially during our current pandemic), but what I received was absolutely unacceptable from minor to high standards. I am not asking for anything in return but someone needs to know where standards are severely affected to which no customers should experience.

FREEMAN HYou charged me for 6 furniture blankets that I didn't receive nor want and than you said I didn't return them. Being I never received them it's something I can't return. Would love to have my money back. I get that I didn't check my original receipt and that on me, but they never mentioned them when the gave me the original receipt.
William WWe reserved a dolly but the location did not actually have a dolly. We then went to 3 other uhaul locations to find a dolly to rent as we could not move our heaviest items without one. None of these locations answered their phones, so we had to drive to find out that they also did not have dollies. That delay -- almost 2 hours searching for a dolly -- caused us to exceed our rental period, and be charged again. If the dolly had been with the truck as reserved, we would have been able to return the truck early and not incurred these extra fees. Also, is it normal to round up the mileage to the nearest 10miles? we did not drive 30miles, more like 22, but were charged for 30.
