Picking up a trailer took a VERY long time. I rent cars every week and it takes 5 min on average to do that. It took nearly 45 min to pickup this trailer. Not good at all.jason V.
Some of the lights on the trailer didn't work We waited 2 hours at for them to fix them. We weren't very happy at all considering we had a schedule to maintain. The staff worked hard to get us on the road and were friendly though.James S.

The guy working that morning was late to work. They were supposed to be open by 0800 and he showed up about 7 minutes late. Then I was apparently blocking his parking spot with my truck, and then he tried to wave me forward through his blacked out tinted windows, when I didn't see him he got out of his vehicle and asked what I was doing?! I told him I was here to pick up a trailer, then he said â€œI was blocking his parking spotâ€, I said I was sorry I didn't know, â€œcan't you see that's my parking spot!â€ He said (There was a rundown truck and a handicap sign just down from that, where he parked looked like a walk path!) I told him that I didn't realize this and he said â€œoh I just thought you were being an asshole.â€ I said I just couldn't see you waiving me forward. So he told me where I could park! Then at about 0812 he opens the shop. Smoking a cigarette he walks inside, shuffling things around and then turns on the open sign. I walk in and he is at the desk still smoking a cigarette! So not only was I being bothered by the smoking but he preceded to explain how he hasn't used this new system and his help that never comes to work befor noon are the ones who usually do the computer work, and tells me this while swearing heavily. Now I'm not going to say I don't swear but In that kind of a work place that shouldn't be happening. And I shouldn't have to stand there and take in second hand smoke while waiting for my paper work to be ready either. So things to improve on: -way better customer service -not smoking when working with customers -not swearing in front of or at the customers -make sure the trailer is cleaned off and ready to be presented to the customer -make sure you're open when your shop is supposed to be -all in all I will not be renting from this place ever again! And had I not needed that trailer that morning I would have just left and found other means of transporting my car!JACOB T.
The truck was dirty inside and out. The wind shield wipers were worn and did not clear rain from the windshield. The front drivers wheel had such a loud squealing noise that I was worried that the wheel bearing was going to give out in my less than 500 mile trip. There was so much play in the steering wheel that it was a chore to keep it between the lines. I have rented before with very good experiences, but this was bad.susan M.
Jerry's Hiway Service location is definitely the better U-Haul location to rent from. The staff was very helpful and their service is superior to the other larger U-Haul location in Helena.James S.

When I arrived, the staff was replacing two of the trailer tires with brand new ones. The existing tires weren't worn out, but they wanted to ensure that I wouldn't have any issues during a cross country trip. That's customer service!Steve W.

When you see a long move/drive, reach out to the customer. I would have gladly driven to another location to get a newer truck for such a long drive. I am sure my experience would have been different with a bit more (any) customer service.Mike W.

Bearings really felt and sounded like they needed re packing with grease. Trailer floor wasn't very clean on pickup. Uhaul REALLY needs to put tongue jacks on these. Lifting a tongue that heavy by yourself for after hours return is asking for a back injury.Jonathan S.

I was really Impressed with Jerry's Hi Way Service. I called to let them know that I was going to be late picking up U-Haul because of traffic issues. He stated that they normally close at 1:00 on Saturdays but he would wait for me to get there. They were super friendly and kind. I did not have the same experience with U-Haul on Lyndale Avenue two weeks earlier and was over charged by the Lyndale location.natalie D.

I arrived at exactly 9 for a 9 am pick up. Shop closed until 9:05 then it took time to get started as they answer phone calls and took care of their dogs. I don't know whose problem it was, they blamed it on uhaul and I'm inclined to agree with them. Computer was so slow in getting me registered. I didn't leave until 9:40 and still didn't have all the right paper work signed as we gave up on it printing:( I had people waiting on me! there is NO reason it should take 45 min to get a truck for a 3 hour rental! The shop was to close at 1:00 so I arrived at 12:55 and already closed. Overall frustrating. Ps I rented a truck a month ago and similar experience. Took it as unusull but now know it's standard. Boo uhaul! Wish we had other options to rent so I could use them instead. Employee was apologetic. There were two other groups waiting behind me, cannot imagine when they got out of there!!!Theresa Q.

Why my reservation was changed from the first u-haul location to a second location when the scheduled pick up time was after the new location closed is beyond me. Seems to me the first u-haul location should have picked up the reserved item from the second location to avoid situations like this. I scheduled a late pickup on purpose because it took us 7 hours just to get to the pick up location. Picking up the reserved item before 1:00 p.m. was not an option. Poor planning on u-haul's part.RENEE W.
