KENNETH HThis review has nothing to do with the local provider of the uhaul service. It has everything to do with the absolutely terrible service that I experienced from Uhaul. I spent 1 1/2 hours of my time at the counter of the local ace hardware in Jefferson Iowa due to the total lack of service from the terminal at this facility. The local people at this location were totally frustrated both when I tried to make the reservation for a simple 4X8 trailer and when I came to pick it up. I will NEVER rent anything form uhaul again after this absolutely terrible and frustrating experience. Again, the local people at this location were excellent - the entire U-Haul experience is horrible and I would never recommend Uhaul to anyone!!!

Steve BThis drop off location review is not applicable since the truck broke down on the road and were nearly killed or severely injured with the loss of a front wheel bearing and failed brake system as a result of the bearing failure. We never made it to this location.

MARK MGet your computer system updated. I did everything online to speed up my pickup process and it took almost an hour to get my trailer. Every time I rent a uhaul they have computer problems and it takes twice as long as it should!!

JEFFERY CTo start, they changed our pick up location to over 50 miles away, causing more gas expenses. Secondly, computers weren't working decent, so took almost 1 1/2 hours to get everything done properly. Then when we went to get truck to attach trailer, the check engine light was on and wasn't running properly. Had to go back inside to request a different truck, and when they switched trucks, they didn't change the amount of fuel, so when returned truck it took longer to drop off because phone calls had to be made. Overall, we lost over 3 hours of time, and close to $70 in added fuel expenses!

Tammy GYour website doesn't always work or is incredibly slow. I couldn't check in my trailer via website I had to ask the uhaul rep to do it for me. Lot of wasted time for something that should have taken only a couple minutes to complete.

Kenneth QI made sure I had the gas gauge where it was when I picked up the truck. They charged me $27 because they said I was short 2 gallons. Uhaul scam warning! Make sure THEY fill the tank before accepting vehicle to avoid unnecessary costs.

Sarah OThe windows were filthy, I did not check wipers before I left and I could not see at all with the wipers on. I paid for moving blankets and they were not in the truck. I picked up the truck when they were not open using the iPhone pickup so nothing I could do about it unless I delayed my move for a day. I made and paid for the rental a month prior to picking up the truck and they called the day before I was to leave and informed me they would not have the truck available at the location I was to pick it up and if I wanted one I would have to travel to a town 50 miles from where I was supposed to pick it up. I have used Uhaul numerous times before and never had such bad service. When I called to tell them they forgot to put furniture pads in they told me they would refund the money for those or I could drive another 75 miles to another town and get some there. I felt the customer service was pathetic, like I was putting them out for them screwing up my reservation pickup.

RONALD SI got the truck with 5/8 tank of gas. I took it down to half. I came under my miles estimate. According to the paperwork, 4 gallons would bring tank back to the same level. I put in 5 gallons RIGHT before dropping it off. I STILL got hit with an $8 fuel charge. No, it's not much, but either the paperwork needs an update, or the vehicles should be sent out with full tanks for an less objective reference point.
CHRISTOPHER TU Haul itself can make it so it doesn't take 45 min of paperwork to rent an appliance cart. It wasn't a trailer or vehicle, which are understandable. Big picture U Haul. Thanks.
DAMON CThe top right brake light was not working. FYI. Kind of biggie with traveling long distance in winter time low sunlight hrs. Blinkers worked.

Carolyn BHad to pay 40.+ more due to more milage, was told I could return to Ace hardware/uhaul location at town in Iowa. When calling location in Jefferson they said i would have to pay an extra charge, but extra milage would not have to have been paid had i been able to return in town my lives in and where furniture was unloaded. Makes no sense.
Joe GI was told 3 different amounts to rent a u-haul. I didn't get the size I need, was a waste to rent. I ended up using the truck for one load, had friends use there personal vehicles to help finish move me. I don't plan to use U-haul again. Will use a different company in the future!

Mark NThe location wasn't the problem. The problem lies within the technical aspects. I spent one and a half hours at this location trying to rent one of your car dollies. The manager of the store had to call three different people to be able to get my information to submit. They were all very patient and kind. I also tried to submit my reservation online beforehand and opted for the $9 insurance that is offered online but come to find out it is not offered in the store. I tried to opt out of the $16 insurance but was charged for it anyway. There are no other services in my area thatprovide what U-Haul does, and we have to use them often. But if there was anybody else we definitely would go elsewhere.
Angela AThe process needs to be made easier. Why are you not able to rent blankets etc online by themselves. Every time I rent a U-Haul product no matter where it always takes 1/2 hour or more
