I live in Strathroy, Ontario. Upon going to my Local Uhaul office to reserve a 15 foot truck ( or any other sizes) on Wednesday September 22 2021, for either Friday, Saturday or Sunday of that coming weekend, I was told "there was absolutely no trucks to pick up in Strathroy" and that if I wanted a 15 foot I would have to drive into the City of London about 30 kms away to pick one up. ( And also drop it back off in London). Upon seeing a 15 foot truck while driving by BOTH Friday and Sunday THAT WERE CONFIRMED AVAILABLE TO RENT at a local convenience store Uhaul Dealer on Albert Street in Strathroy- I am extremely disappointed and would AT LEAST expect Uhaul to refund me the 89 cents per 60 kilometer that I had to drive into the next city to use a truck when there was a 15 foot available to rent in Strathroy. My location didn't have the truck I needed so I was redirected to this one.it was 35 min. out of my way and added mileage to my rental.i was given a better rate but it was still inconvenient.the person at this location was excellent.u-haul should have transported the proper size truck to my location.that would have been customer service.CLINT N.
I talked to a uhaul provider to book a truck for 10 AM at 107 mount pleasant. and I received the email for the order. at the day I went to the place 30 mins prior to 10 AM. I waited in line for 30 mins then the guy told me my reservation was relocated to 153 gladman ave and I did not receive any thing as a heads up prior to that. I took the bus there asap and got there at 11. the person tell me I have to return the truck at 2 PM. I tell then I previously booked the truck from 10 to 6. but he doesn't accept. At the first location I was told uhaul is booked for 24 hours! but now I have to return the vehicle in 3 hours!! so I rush to move my stuff in 3 hours. It took me 4 hours to move. And I was dying at the end of the move. I return the truck and now I receive my receipt for 120$ !!!! they chrged me 26$ for 15 L gas (I moved 13 miles) and 20$ for being 1 hour late. I know for a fact they had other truck around for other customers but they decided to charge me for being 1 hour late. nobody told me I was relocated. I had 3 hours instead of 8 that I booked for!! and they charge me 120$. It was a horrible experience and it was their fault.kian K.
The owner of this location, Mike, was extremely rude and unprofessional with us. We confused our pick up time and thought that it was made for 9am but it was for 8:30. We got there at 8:45 and called in advance to let him know of our mistake. Once we arrived, he went over the check in and proceeded to harass and blame us for trying to â€œsqueezeâ€ him by taking the vehicle for too long. For context, I had booked a van from 8:30am-8:30pm and estimated a low km usage. The distance between the two houses is very close, but we knew we would be making multiple trips. Being a short, petite woman with only the assistance of my equally petite sister, we knew moving the furniture would take some time. We also made the reservation months in advance just to be sure that we had a guaranteed van since this time of year is very busy. Instead of politely voicing his concern that we had booked the van for too long of a period, he talked down to us as if we were idiots and essentially lectured us as if we were children. We offered to shorten the rental time and/or increase the km usage immediately after he brought it up, but instead of editing it and proceeding with what should have been a 5 minute check in, he continued to talk down to us and lecture us, wasting both our time and his. He told us, that it's not his responsibility to change it and we should have had the information correct in the first place when we made the reservation. I made the reservation online and there was no indication that the information that i provided was unreasonable. We explained that we would have the vehicle back as soon as we were done with it regardless, and simply booked the van for the whole day because we thought it was the easiest way to reserve it at the time. This was still not enough for him and it was obvious that his goal wasn't to edit the document, but to go on a power trip and assert his dominance over two young women who he thought he was much smarter than. I am 27 years old, and was spoken to as if I was 17. My sister and I have done multiple moves in the past so we did not require his in-depth monologue about how to rent a uhaul. After 30 minutes of him going on about how people abuse his rental services and how we are trying to â€œsqueezeâ€ him for an extended truck rental, we got the check in complete. We ended up finishing the move in about 7 hours and had the vehicle returned by 2:30pm. Another woman was there during the return and she was just as rude. I will say that the vehicle itself was in excellent condition and we were able to complete our move with no issues. We did go over our estimated km usage by roughly 20km but I don't see why he was so caught up on that from the beginning because it's simply an estimate and he gets paid for every km that we use. In the past I have had excellent experiences with UHAUL. I have even relocated 3.5 hours from my hometown using a UHAUL truck and used their online services which are user friendly and seamless. Their customer service is often extremely polite and accommodating, hence why I decided to use UHAUL for this particular move as well. However, the experience that I received yesterday was simply appalling. I will never recommend or use the Jack Campbell Variety location. They are really putting a bad mark on an otherwise very respectable company.Keisha J.
We had some questions regarding our truck when we were outside using it so we called the place so many times but the guy didn't answer and when we returned the truck and asked him about it, he told us he's too busy to answer the phone calls and because we called him alot, he decide to ignore us which was very unprofessional.Tori P.

Need to improve customer service. The location is primarily a variety store as a business who wants to take care of their customers first. For U-Haul, understandably may require few more minutes come next. I was passed on by 4 customers before my turn, even during that, one more customer was served in parallel. The staff overall is rude and totally unapologetic for the wait they caused me.MANISH M.

Owner was so rude and customer service was very poor ...I was overcharged for fuel...when I called to ask why I was charged 9$ for 2 litre...owner yelled at me and told me he has no time to talk to me ....he has customers in convenient store...and he cannot help me...if I want answers I should drive to the store....why should I drive 20 min there but he can't answer a simple question for 1 minute? I have never seen such a horrible customer service...never will go back and never recommend the place and will write bad reviews anywhere I see this store's name...U-Haul should not partner with such an unprofessional individual ...the time I had the van was also incorrectly reported...I feel I was abused verbally by the owner over the phone...FERESHTEH R.

One of the owners, Mike, was very helpful with the check-in and out process. The vehicle (15' Truck) was unusually loud on the highway. Also, the steering wheel felt sticky so I don't know if they clean the vehicle before the next person uses it. This has left a negative impression on me.PHILIP V.

Have the people that work there pay attention to the customer fully, when checking in and out. I had to wait multiple times as people in the variety store constantly interrupted the transaction to rent the vehicle. When someone is dropping of a vehicle, actually do the close out with the customer, ESPECIALLY when there is no one else at the location but the employee and the the person returning the vehicle. No other customers in the store. Instead I was told, you will get an emailed receipt shortly after someone inspects the vehicle. Ummmmm.... why couldn't the person I was talking to and returning the keys to, inspect it and tell me how much I was going to be billed? I have yet to receive my digital receipt and it has been 13 hours since I returned my rental vehicle. I drove under the agreed upon kilometres yet my credit card statement still states I'm being billed the full amount. Also, When I picked it up the vehicle, the seats were covered in hair and the cargo area was dirty and wet. Yet I was told to return it clean. So, I'm hoping that I'm not going to get billed more for returning a dirty vehicle that was already dirty when I took it. Don't go to this location. I repeat DO NOT GO to this location. Awful experience. Go to Clark Rd and get proper customer service.ANTHONYB G.

It took 1.5h for my designated driver to pick up our truck. I dont know what the issue was but I had to go myself after an hour and the online prompts gave us a completely different lock box code and picture even though it was on the same account and same location. Very frustrating during an already stressful moving trip. I chose uhaul because it looked simple but in practice it was not. I will not be using it again.Ryeland L.

We have rented from uhaul a number of times...5. Every single time our online reservation has taken forever to do. Further, our reservations have never been transferred or shared with the actual location where we had to pick up and drop off our rental. Not. Once! Never have we entered a location and had them expecting us. Several times we had to go elsewhere as the vehicle we rented was not even available at the location the website had us rent from. Horrible, horrible website and corporate communication. Even worse, each time after we rent, you send us a SATISFACTION SURVEY, which you clearly don't read or value because nothing ever changes and we have never received a call to follow up on our poor experience from corporate or from an individual location.DANIELW O.

Pretty sure the lady that works there is crazy. She argued with her husband the whole time in Polish while I was trying to rent it. Then she told us we couldn't park our car. Then when we got back an hour early she said we couldn't get our cash deposit back till 4:30, when we said we'd be back. It was like she was accusing us of it. The guy was trying hard to please us. When I picked up the truck the attendant advised me that there would be an extra fee if I used the dolly located in the truck and that if the green tie was broken it is evidence that the dolly was used. When I returned the truck the attendant said that the blankets were used and therefore the fee would be charged. He did not mention anything about using the blankets when I rented the truck. When I brought this oversight to his attention and suggested that it was unfair to charge the fee without forewarning he said that he didn't care and that he had my credit card number and he was going to add the fee and if I didn't like it I could file a complaint. This left a very bitter taste in my mouth and I'll try to avoid uhaul in the future. Sincerely, Greg WilloughbyGregory W.

We reserved our truck for a Different location closer to our Home. We went to the original location, and they didn't have any trucks Available. The Uhaul Company did not notify us of the Change in pick up location, and our reservation and Reservation Number both listed the original pick up location as the correct location. was told the reservation was moved. and that we should have gotten a notification. but no notification was sent.
