There was a homeless person staying inside back of truck. We had to throw their things out. There was chips and stuff inside truck so obviously last person didn't clean it up. We picked it up with a quarter of a tank of gas. We left it with a half tank. Drop off location was good. Oasis needs to monitor trucks as it's an area with a lot of homeless people. It's not a good place.

first they told me they didnt' have my truck, then they did, then it was all muddy inside the cab and inside the cargo area. the building inside and out was occupied with homeless people, i didn't feel threatened but not 100% safe either. I will never use that location again

Upon arriving to the location the gentleman was rude. He did not have the dolly we had reserved. I had to call an 800 number to find someone to get it, due to him going oh well. "You take or not I don't care" Along with paying extra per mile to go get said dolly. Very rude man. Upon drop of the lady was completely kind and easy to work with. It was a mess and I should have used a different location. And I'll be sure to let everyone else know this as well. Very disappointed in uhaul for allowing one of their locations to lie about inventory and allow your employees to be so rude. Very upsetting. I would reconsidered using this location for your company since everyone I have spoke to says the same thing. Please do better in keeping up with your locations and train them better.

Did not have 2 of the 3 items I needed with my rental. Told me I would get refund if u-haul was returned early but because I returned a day early minus 2.5 hours, no refund. Customer service was no help. Neither was the customer service manager on duty. As a single mom trying to move in 2 inches of snow and freezing weather, this is pretty bad. I won’t use u-haul again.

It was difficult to know what to do. I thought that I was returning the vehicle to a U-Haul location. Instead, it was a mini-market with very crowded parking. I would have preferred to know a little more about the return procedure as I chose to return it to an open, physical location, during regular business hours, rather than on-line turn in. Otherwise, the van served me well and I am pleased.

The salesperson at Island Oasis 2 was professional and she answered my questions. My reservation online went smoothly. Although the truck ran well it smelled of smoke. Side door was unlocked and back door was raised when I picked truck up. Many homeless in this area could possibly be using these rental trucks. It is very sad, yet I do question any possibility of drug use or any exposure for a customer. My personal experience was good overall.

I schedule the pickup at 2275 Spring Place Rd SE, Cleveland TN. 37323. Upon arrival they did not have the truck that I reserved so they sent me to Island Oasis 2 on Inman St. Upon arrival to Inman, there were homeless people living around the rental trucks that was behind the gas station where the uhauls were stored. No clue that we had to go around the building to the gas station. Manager didn't ask for my license nor any other ID. Gave me key I signed and off I went. It ran well until the trip home, I could only run 45-50 mph, kept cutting out and motor was not running well. stopped 3 times for gas and only had 150 miles to make it. Barley made it home. The truck was not running well. After turning off the truck at the drop off it would start again and just left it didn't back up into a spot. Please start having the facilities to do routine maintenance on the trucks. I would appreciate a discount on this rental please. I was on a timeline and could not call for help on the side of the road. It was raining and didn't want to transfer the load to another truck. I am 61 and barley got it loaded. Please consider a discount, if you want me to refer Uhaul to family and friends. Thank you

When I returned the rental no one could check it in. Therefore I was charged for an extra day. Also was told the fuel gauge did not match. I did not drive the estimated mileage but was charged for that as well. Thanks to Mr. Heath Raper all of this was corrected.

Used this during my last move and loved using it here. I left I phone 13 in the uhaul they called immediately and let me know I had left it which I very much appreciate it because moving with 3 babies is super hard and I had no idea where it went which helped our process when they called us. My friend is moving in 3 months and will also be using them!! Thank you so much!!

Impossible to find UHaul representative or check in location. This is a convenience store with ZERO signage or instruction. Would NOT answer phone call. Just took key with no check in process. Did not check my ID, fuel level, mileage, or verify no damage. They did NOT even come out to see that I had actually returned the vehicle!

Turned in truck at 2pm. They confirmed twice that I did not need to do anything online or for checking that they did that. They did note complete this til near 9pm. I received a $76 extra charge EVEN THOUGH I contacted U-Haul customer service at 7:30pm to alert them that they had not processed it in yet. They rep was supposed to note it in my file so I would not be charged and then also contact the drop of location. I was still charged! Then had to contact U-Haul customer service again to explain this and provide a photo showing proof that I had returned my truck at 2 PM. Very unethical on U-Haul’s part. Now I am told I need to wait 3-5 business days to get a refund. UHAUL NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. U-Haul needs to own their mistakes!

Well when someone has an issue it would be nice if they would answer the phone. We opened up the unit and it had someone belongings inside it locked with a combination lock. I called multiple times to the location where I picked it up and they never did answer.

That was nastiest uhaul we have ever rented. There were cigarette butts, nasty wet clothes, dirty smelly blankets, and chicken with bones!!! We definitely left it 100 times cleaner than we found it.

They have a huge homeless problem. Smells like pee and people had pooped right by the trucks! My equipment I ordered (utility dolly etc) were not on my truck. We had to ask the lady inside if we could get them off other trucks. Only found 3 blankets that didn’t smell like pee. Inside cab of truck was not clean had a dirty face mask on the floor and sticky spill etc Very disappointing considering I had rented here 2yrs before and it was fine.

Is there another address? This location seemed reluctant at first to allow the drop-off at this address. A lady employee said something about Pelican even though the address was correct. A male employee assured her and me that it was OK to drop the truck off and leave it parked out front at this address

This was a gas station shopette that did not have a uhaul attendant on duty during the hours they were listed as being open. There was a store attendant that had difficult to understand English so returning the truck was not easy. The parking area was insufficient for a 26 ft truck, I left the truck parked at an angel taking multiple spaces. The gas station attendant wanted me to take the truck down the road to a liquor store and park it, I refused to do that. I was not given ant type of receipt that I had returned the truck just gave up the keys to this person I could barely understand. He stated to me that the uhaul person would get the keys when he returned to work. My return was done before 3pm so it wasn't outside of normal working hours but it was on a Saturday. I was not told there would not be a uhaul employee working on Saturday. The short end of this is I was dissatisfied with the return, very unprofessional to just turn your keys over to a stranger and not get a receipt or even have them look the truck over on a return. The entire rental process was horrible. I started at one location and ended up at 3 others before getting the truck size I initially rented, my rate increased from my original price so I had to battle that out in order to get the rate I was quoted. I drove all over to get the truck, it was a nightmare that I hope to never relive. The manager at the Mercury location, Sharma was wonderful through all this, she helped me get through this process but like me couldn't understand why I was told the Mercury location would not have the truck available on my pick up date because they did have it there for me. I happened to go to the location the morning of my pick up to get a couple blankets and there were multiple 26ft trucks sitting there, one ready for me but I had already gotten the truck I used after very much inconvenience. Nightmare I tell you, total nightmare. If it wouldn't have been for the professionalism of the staff at Mercury location, Sharma especially I would have canceled my reservation and rented from another company. Worst moving experience in all my life. The cost of this move should have been free because of all the screw ups by the department that dispatches you to a truck pick up location. Just can't state enough how inconvenient and stressful this interaction with Uhaul was for me. Very dissatisfied customer, very unprofessional handling of a customer by Uhaul.

I spoke with Jeff who called from from the traffic center in Alcoa Tennessee. My original reservation was made for a Sunday truck rental, including three dozen packing blankets due to rain on the scheduled moving day. We had to delay by one day. I contacted the one 800 go U-Haul phone number Saturday night to make that change and delay the move from Sunday to Monday, January 23. In the course of the change in timing for the reservation, I discovered that Bradley, barter and pawn shop did not have any blankets and I was referred to the Englewood Tennessee U-Haul to get blankets and only then that I discover the first agent that I talk to Saturday night had not change the date yet and so I was being charged $45 including tax for three dozen packing blankets to be picked up and used on Sunday when the move wasn’t going to occur until Monday and I would in essence be paying $45 per day for two days, which was a problem I didn’t need the blankets on Sunday if the move wasn’t going to occur until Monday . The reservation was then updated to be from the oasis location at 540 Inman Street in Cleveland, and I change the reservation of three dozen blankets to four dozen blankets, and I was told that the Inman Street location had all four dozen. Well, that’s the first problem and in fact that was untruthful. Secondly, it is very bad public relations to promise a person within the reservation process that they will have the blankets that they requested and in fact, when I showed up this morning to pick up the truck, they had no blankets no hand trucks nothing for implements to enhance the moving experience. This is a primary reason for Penske trucking rentals to exist. I am very disappointed in U-Haul which to this date has been my historical truck rental provider. When I have moved from California to Tennessee and back twice, I have typically rented 12 dozen packing blankets as they are the primary reason for safe moves, along with using your God-given sense in how to load a truck, and I do not have damage. I previously Moved furniture commercially cross country. U-Haul blankets are like a napkin compared to the commercial blankets being like a quilt however, be that as it may blankets are important and to show up at the rental place and be told you have no blankets it’s like a slap in the face , take my money bud give me lousy service. The people at the local establishment were fine no problem, but the support they’re getting from U-Haul is extremely lacking as they have no equipment other than the vehicles. Additionally, the rental agreement says to thoroughly check out your vehicle before taking it off the lot. Your website was experiencing serious problems with with getting bogged down and the agent took considerable time waiting for each screen to load and she tried her cell phone and she tried whatever your normal system is and had lengthy delays. When I tried to upload a photo it took over an hour to do that and after just a few minutes, I had to leave because I had people waiting for me For the loading process and one hour later that crazy photo of the damage on the truck had still not even loaded up to your site. There were still two additional locations on the truck that I needed to report one being the driver side of the cargo box and the other being the front fender on the driver side. Undoubtedly, the evaluation that was to be done on the premises was never completed in its proper fashion, because I could never get that silly picture to upload. So what it boils down to is U-Haul has lost a large amount of status in my mind for all of the problems associated with renting this truck today. your public relations or at a bare minimum based upon your performance in my behalf. I appreciate Jeff’s phone call from the traffic Center in Alcoa Tennessee, and he indicated that he would file a report for me, but until you change your methods and provide each of the local rental facilities with the tools necessary and or shuttle them back-and-forth to other rental sites. If you don’t have them or don’t have adequate quantities in the rental location that was provided in the reservation you need to beef up your operations or you will lose your customer base through experiences like mine.

The price for the rental was higher than we were quoted. Even after we showed him the quote that was sent to us with a lower price he did nothing about it. He actually cancel our reservation and made a new on on the spot while we wait. Not sure why that was necessary. They didnt have any of the blankets we requested in our reservation. He gave me the key to the truck and walked away. I didn't know where the truck was or which truck was mine. He didnt come out and help locate it. Once I found the truck it looked like a homeless person was living in it at the time. The door was open and there was trash, cloths, pillows and cigarettes in the back i had to clean out before I left with the truck. Not very good customer service!!!

I only put about 25 miles on the truck, but my "top off" gasoline fill up required over 8 gallons, which means I received only 3 miles/gallon used. Very disappointing!

The lot was too small and very full. There was just room for our truck. The next one would have no place to park. The attendant does not speak or understand English well, which made it difficult to get answers about how to return it. The vehicle was not inspected at all when we returned it, so anything could have happened to it in the parking lot and been attributed to damage or loss caused by us. again, no customer support at all.

Clerk fulfilling my reservation tried to charge me double and then triple so I had to leave and call one of your reps who let me pay over the phone and then just pick up the key. This was a horrible experience. The man yelled at me and kept trying to tell me I owed almost $200 for a 24 hour rental and a dolly. The rep on the phone said he had me in for 25 hours and two dollies, then added a bunch of other stuff when I had already reserved what I wanted online. I will never use this location again.

This location was completely terrible, no one knew how to help me and the man that did end up helping was all over the phone and i could not understand a word he was saying. when we got the keys we went to the back of this location and our uhaul truck was blocked in and the man that helped move other trucks out of our way ended up crashing into another truck that was in the parking lot. do not recommend.
