Let me be clear: I have no problem with the customer service that I received from the gentleman at this store. I do, however, have a problem with the fact that I booked a 15 foot truck to be picked up in Hamilton, but I had to travel all the way out to Brantford, at my own expense (and added gas) to pick up the truck. Not only that, it did not have the dolly or the furniture pads that I requested. I was quoted .89 cents per kil. Then they charged me by the mile .I called to ask if I could return truck in the morning and I was assured I wouldn't be charged for a third day as long as I returned truck by 10 am. Which I did. So all in all I was charged 1.49 a mile 3 days and 3 days insurance on a two day rental . Over two hundred dollars to drive 54 kil. How sad to do to a senior citizen.

The service of the guys here, especially owner is very degraded. He told me different rate(.60) but when i returned he said it will be .90 per km, and the other rate was for van, he said. Second, as far as i know, the vehicle is reserved for 24 hrs. He kept me pushing to return it back asap. I returned the vehicle 6 hrs before remaining time but he gave me a deep shit.

I used the online/mobile check In and return and the system seems a little glitchy. Wouldn't work at all for check in/pick up. Just kept going back to the beginning. Same for return it just kept not accepting my uploaded pictures. Had to do the whole process 3 or 4 times before it finally worked. I have complaints about the pick up or drop off locations at all though

Took me an hour and half to get van. There is only 1 guy at the shop selling produce and assisting uhaul. There were many people buying and people renting vehicles had to wait. Me and 3 others renting. The guy working there did not know how to scan my licence nor how to book. Its an absalute disaster. I would not use this location again… waste of time

After going to my pickup location I was told (after the rental agent finished his freezie) to go to another location. That location was a house in downtown Hamilton. After, many phone calls and another visit to a different Uhaul centre we were finally told that the truck was 30 minutes away in Brantford. This cost us about 2 hours on an already busy day. The gentleman at the final pickup location was great. Then during the rental period the truck completely died. It took 2 days to replace the battery (not the mechanics fault). The battery hadn't been checked in years, there was no acid left to charge. Overall a completely disappointing experience. I typically rent vehicles for business several times a year and will be taking my account to Penske or Enterprise.

The back of the van was relatively dirty/muddy, which I wasn't particularly impressed with. It didn't really matter for our purposes, but didn't look great on the company. There was a notice on the dashboard that the vehicle's oil needed to be changed. There was no inspection of the vehicle before or upon return, leaving us at their mercy to make whatever claims they liked. We were charged for 11 litres of fuel usage, despite the fact that the vehicle was returned with the same level of fuel.

Brakes were squeaky and check engine light flickering. Change oil message was on. The location staff were excellent but found the price advertised severely misleading . I had it for 2 days which I thought would be 49 plus insurance and I paid 109 for the second day.

Uhaul dealer at happy variety was absolutely amazing and helpful. However, my experiance with the agent via 1800 uhaul was not pleasant. My needs were not met and I didnt take the threat lightly.

I'm still trying to find out why my bill was so high and why I got two separate charges. Everytime I call, I'm given different numbers to call, and no one can explain to me why I was billed so much. It was a van rental, I drove 87 kilometers and filled back what I used. First bill was 71 then I got another bill for 34. I was told 34 was correct, but 71 was not. Then I was told I need to call another number to get a charge back. It's just been a circus ever since. I wouldn't recommend uhaul due to deceptive billing practices.

I said "no" to clean and well-maintained because of 2 issues: 1) The left windshield wiper blade was held on with a shoelace. That is inappropriate. 2) The truck I rented had 1/4 tank of fuel when I got it. It seems to me it should be at least 1/2. But I still recommend the location. Very easy to work with.

I came the day before rental and confirmed it for the next day with one gentleman then when i came in to get the cargo van the new guy had no booking information at all so i was not to pleased by this. Thank goodness nobody came in after me to book the same vehicle so in the end it worked out but it was stressful to say the least. Also there was only one person in the store to deal with my rental plus also taking care of customers coming in and out of the store. Took longer to get booking done but the gentleman handled the multitasking well.

Paid extra for dollies and furniture pads, none provided. Truck was not at location for reserved time, i actually didn't get the truck till 5pm when my reservation was 4:30pm. Truck was left with a quarter of gas, basically nothing; and the inside was dirty. Old Popeyes food receipt on the seat, floors stained with mud.. last time I'll be using U-Haul.

Ensure easy access to equipment. The trailer I rented was blocked in by trucks and I had to move the trucks for the store. Was not able to drop off the trailer easily either for the same reason. The equipment was in great clean shape though.

Crammed parking of truck- took 10 minutes to get it out of parking lot. spent lot of time in store doing registration again and providing all information I had already registered online including credit card details. I didn't have liberty to park my car where I wanted.

Front low air tire indicator was on. Also cab and inside truck were very dirty. I went back in and was told to take it to the gas station to put air in the tire. I had to clean the truck before we loaded our things into it.

Van was a bit dirty when I picked it up. There was also a warning on the dash when I turned it on indicating the front right tire needed air. So I added air ($2) plus the gas and kl and time to find and do it. It was disappointing when you are in a hurry to get your destination and back.

The cab of truck smelt like smoke Mud inside can Broken glass in box and mud and dirt had to spend time cleaning it before we actually moved. Called store to extend rental was told no then called u haul direct and was qwick and easy. Original reservation was for return Sunday morning however when rented only had 10 I was a bit confused by this so it ended costing me both precious time and frustration

There was an empty pallet left in the back of the truck, garbage was present in the cab and the passenger seat was covered in debris. This location is more focused on getting a quick turnaround then spending time cleaning trucks. The previous user brought the truck back right when I got there and it was not sanitized. They also have limited parking if you plan to leave your car on site. I would not recommend this location.

The Uhaul dealer in Brantford Ontario wasn't friendly at all they can't even speak English well and understand your needs. The truck was very bad and I called for the road service because the truck broke down after 2 hours driving, but no one answered us even though we stayed online and on phone for around 2 hours. And then we start driving anyway meanwhile the truck AC wasn't sure work and the light engine was on but later turned off by it self.

There was a lock on the uhaul that we had to break. The company should have inspected the truck more thoroughly. The uhaul was also extremely filthy. Usually the uhauls I have rented before are immaculate. This one was not. The employees incorrectly answered my questions and concerns which caused a lot of confusion. I asked how much of a deposit I had to give and they answered there was no deposit. I also asked if they needed my credit card and they said no. The day a friend went to pick up the truck, they asked for a credit card and they charged a $400 deposit.
