I tried to rent a 6x12 utility trailer with a ramp. The website said I could get it at one location, but when I got there the national website had reserved me a 6x12 box trailer with no ramp. Fortunately the employee at the first location quickly found me what I needed and I was able to go to a second location and get the trailer I needed. The clerk was unfriendly and put the wrong info on the order and gave us a key to a different truck than what was on the order. Put down the wrong return time and when we tried to return truck because of the wrong info being on the order it took us an hour and a phone call to customer service to return the truck.MATTHEW H.

While our experience with Chris at the Main Street location was good, I would not recommend UHaul after my last two experiences. In August 2020, the shop at 1251 US 31 in Greenwood was an hour late getting opened and it took another hour to get checked in and receive my rental. Today, it took 6 attempts to create an account online for the 24/7 pickup because your site kept resetting to the create account screen every time I got a verification code. I finally had to use a second phone to get past that step. Then, it would not accept the alternate phone numbers we gave. Then, the equipment we were assigned was NOT ON THE LOT! It took almost 20 minutes to get rerouted on the phone and we had to go to another location to get a truck, which added mileage to our move and put us an hour behind schedule. Chris at the Main Street location was very helpful and was the only pleasurable part of the experience. 30 minutes after we got the truck, I got a text telling me I had 3 hours left of the rental, except I still had 3.5 hours and the truck was not actually due back until 1:30, NOT 1 pm. Your website needs major improvement to be user-friendly, and it should not take an hour or more to pick up a reserved vehicle.James K.
This location only likes to screw ppl. Charged me for a second day when he KNEW the truck was returned same night! The cab nor the back were clean. He tried overcharging us for gas claiming it was lower than when we picked it up and I had pictures to prove so. NEVER AGAINBRADLEY G.

I called several times to get directions to no avail. No one picked the phone up. Once I arrived, I did not think the guy was very professional and he said, "we really don't need anymore trailers". But he quickly stepped into action and found a space. He also asked if I was good at backing up and I said no as I could see it was a tight space. He was good a backing up. I asked for a receipt and he said it would be emailed to me. I was not comfortable with that, not knowing anything about this man or the business. But I did recieve on later in the day.Thomas R.

24/7 process takes way longer than just doing it the old way and you still have to have contact to get the keys. Return continually has customer going back to the vehicle because it doesn't ask all questions at once so you don't know what all you will need. Keys didn't fit through the return slot. Had to unlock on the lockbox to put keys inside.Chris C.

I recently rented a one-way rental. As the trip started, we experienced a medical emergency and had to return. I returned the truck late (due to the circumstances) to another location. Explained the situation to a great manager, Pam. She went above and beyond to assist us. I cannot say enough about her customer service, running into roadblocks and still continuing to help us. I recommend her and her store to everyone! U-Haul definitely has a winner with this woman!! I'm sure we will need another rental in the future....this experience has sold us on UHaul. Truck was clean and functional. Business portion was not impressive. Moving Accessories ordered & paid for were not ready or available when we picked up the truck, had to request refund thru uhaul and move without them, no notice or warning was given that the items wouldn't be ready for us. Called and texted location several times in the week prior to try to confirm order but no answer and no response. Drove over to the location in person to make sure the reservation was received and everything was ready to go. Was assured we were all set...no mention of moving blankets etc not being available. It all worked out, we made the best of the situation...but could have been less stressful if accessories were actually available or i had warning to make other arrangements.james B.

The man was not wearing a mask, he smoked in there, had pets. The place just seemed filthy. The man that worked that wasn't really friendly. I would rather go to another location.Dakotah H.
Your regional manager or someone called me to tell me that my truck that I rented weeks prior was not available at the first location, BUT they had one at this location. I went there and they did not have the truck size I needed and I had to make multiple trips to make this work. They also did not have any blankets or dolly even though who I talked to on the phone assured me they would. Not happy, and probably should have rented from elsewhere.Seth D.

I've rented and drove a handful of UHaul and moving trucks. This truck was by far in the worst condition. The vehicle was beat up and torn up. Inside the cab wasn't wiped down, and you can tell that someone had previously smoked in there due to the ashes. When I did the mobile return, I put that the vehicle was not clean for the next person, and it wanted to charge me for the cleaning. I changed it to being clean enough, as to avoid a charge that I don't deserve. By far the worst experience with UHaul. On the plus side, being able to obtain and return the truck via my phone was great! It was great to not have to rush to get to a dealer before they close. I would definitely use UHaul again, just not at that location.Jennifer R.

It wasn't so much about this location as it was the inconvenience of the uHaul location where I booked the pickup not having the key and sending me back to Greenwood to get an available truck. I had to leave my vehicle there and inconvenience someone else to take me back there to get my car. Then, the movers were there but I was late. Terrible experience!!!Lu Ann A.

The gentleman at the desk seemed very peeved that people were coming in to pick up the rentals. He never walked the truck for damage, he never showed us where the truck was, and he just handed us keys and said "its around back". Poor service overall. The truck was fine.KYLE J.

The truck had the catalytic converter cut off, which I did not know at the time. There was no one at the office that I could talk to about it and I had a tight schedule I needed to keep. The people that I talked to on the telephone were not helpful. I was told that the truck still needed to be returned. I had to drive for 2 hours with ear protection on just to stay sane. I was not happy with the experience and I will not be using Uhaul again.Mike S.

I was originally told they didn't have a 20ft truck or an appliance dolly, but on the day I was to pick up equipment I was informed I would be able to get both. Truck was clean and in good shape. Had to call Fredericksburg, Virginia due to not able to get a hold of Greenwood..... Greenwood phone number ring several times then goes into a recording......SORRY THIS PERSON DOES NOT HAVE A VOICEBOX SET UP, GOODBYE! When my Family and I returned a day ahead of schedule.....the guy was in a hurry to leave....was not Friendly.....acted like we were a inconvenience to him. I wanted Fredericksburg to give me another place to drop off the trailer....they were not able to recommend another place. I do NOT recommend the Greenwood location.Charissa C.
My reservation was for a different location. I showed up to pick up my truck and it was not available. I has to drive to a different location for pick up. BOTH locations were dirty, smelled heavily of cigarette smoke and housed SEVERAL birds being advertised for sale. I umdertand that these locations are most likely franchises however uhaul should dictate some basic standards to ensure your customers feel comfortable when renting your trucks. I WILL NOT rent here again. It's easier and less expensive to go to a place such as Home Depot where you know it will be clean, welcoming, and you don't have to deal with the franchise owners side businesses.ANGELA H.

The 2 owners made me wait while they loaded a piece of equipment onto a trailer and strap it down before they checked me out ( I was the only customer on site). The equipment they focused on wasn't for someone with a reservation, or on site (I reserved my moving truck 6 days in advance). They took 25 minutes. My checkout (debit card processed, given keys, reviewed terms and policy)...2 minutes. Those country bumpkins don't know their asses from a hole in the ground.Patrick W.

Impressed that they had social distancing procedure in place and had my stand far enough away and had a station for me to sign documents from that wasn't the counter right in front of the gentleman that helped me. Also appreciate that U-Haul has their online check-in and pay process that also reduced any unnecessary contact. Good all around!Chester H.
