Was charged extra for safe tow and I specifically put no on the reservation online.

JENNIFER WThis location was outstanding but I am deeply disappointed in the U Haul company and the way they handled my reservation. First the online site allowed me to reserve my trailer in Uniontown PA while knowing they did not have the requested trailer. As a result, big U Haul arbitrarily moved my reservation to Morgantown WV. After I complained my reservation was moved to Scenery Hill PA. My reservation was then moved to Cumberland MD. I then called the Cumberland location directly and they confirmed they had my reservation AND the trailer. When I arrived at the Cumberland location I was told they gave my trailer away to someone else. I then had to scramble while on the road and luckily was able to get the trailer from Scenery Hill. The Scenery Hill people were GREAT. Big U Haul SUCKED.

Your website is nonfunctional . 53 minutes on hold returning truck no one ever took the 800 number call. No doubt you will use Covid as a convenient excuse. Mr Goodwin gets the job done and well without fail.

Dianne GTo be at the property and to have equipment that properly functions all the time. Ex: trailer lights that don't stop working and then start and stop again.
robbie hI would never refer U-Haul to anyone, the aggravation I had to go thru to get a trailer and the relocation where my pickup is suppose be at being a hour (2 hours round trip)(4 hours once the trailer is returned). Just to me it seems like poor business not caring to gain customer's and also for the fact I get to the location where I am suppose to pick it out and after my card had been charge(and I am still waiting on that refund) told me I could take it cause it has a bald tire, why have if listed available if u won't rent it out. The one location I was finally able to get the trailer, he was very nice knowledgeable and that was the only bright side about any of this

richard gThe complete experience was a disaster. After making a reservation 1 week in advance, and confirming several days in advance. I spoke with Sam at Sam and Mary's woodworking the day before and was told the truck would be ready. The original pick up time was 8:30 and I agreed to change it to 9 am, Sam was Ok with this. On Friday evening around 6:45 pm, I received a call from Uhaul dispatch,telling me that Sam and Mary's would not be open until 10 am. I told the lady at dispatch that I had spoken to Sam, about the 9 am pick up. She told me that there was nothing she could do, and I could pick up the vehicle at 10am. Now the fun begins, I show up at Sam and Mary's at 10 am, and guess what, no truck is available. Mary was able to locate a smaller truck, in Scenery Hill, Pa ( 15 miles away.) - the day is now several hours behind my schedule, and coordinating the people and the move was a challenge. I now have a truck that is half the size of what I reserved, so I had to make multiple trips. Please have someone contact me to work out some kind of solution to this horrible experience. Anthony ZHave the truck available where it is originally scheduled. I had to go an extra two hours (to/from) out of my way just to pick up the truck. The experience at the place was fine - my experience with Uhaul was terrible.

John AHave someone there at your appointment time and equipment cleaned prior as well as reading all rental information to rent the right equipment. When the gentleman finally showed up he was very nice and showed me how to use the car dolly. But the dolly ended up being the wrong size which made my trip stressful.

Robert KThe truck had some issues. Reverse gear was bad - you couldn't go easy - you had to gun it to make it go. Going up hills was very bad - 30 to 35 mph -extremely slow- fully loaded semi's passed us with ease.

Carl GEven though we paid with a debit card we were still charged a 100 dollar deposit. The total was 136, with the deposit that is 236. On our receipt it says 236 was charged to our card. When checking my account 436 was removed from account. After inquiring about this and getting no where, I was told there was a 200 dollar hold placed on my card. That would have been nice to know. Essentially uhaul over charged me by 300 dollars. Now, I was refunded the 100 dollar deposit. The worker at the drop off location showed me he was refunding that, although, it is not in my account yet. I was told by the manager on the phone to wait and see if the hold is returned in 5 business days if not call back. So, he also, is not sure if it is a hold he just said that's what it sounds like. I think it's very unprofessional I was not told about this 200 charge. Moving is expensive and this 300 dollars really broke the bank for us. I have never been charged a "hold" by uhual before. I was not charged a deposit last time either. I had to drive out of the way to this location bc I was told there was no 20ft trucks located at the rental center I made the reservation at. It is hard to find.
Michael II did not set up an appointment online, I just drove up on a Saturday afternoon in hopes of the best. Goody was very friendly and helpful. I'll be using them again in the future.
jeanine fI had to drive almost 15 miles out of my way to pick up the trailer. This is something that seems to always happen when I rent a U-Haul trailer.
Mark HTried to rent from another location (Monessen, PA). Was called to inform me that the equipment I needed was not available there but was available in this other location. Upon arriving, the gentleman who helped me stated he would have been willing to drive the equipment to my preferred location (and that he does it all the time), which would have saved me an hour's time. Why isn't this an automatic thing? I made the reservation 2 days in advance... plenty of time to move equipment.
Scott TPittsburgh did not have a trailer in any of their locations. It was a terrible experience to travel 45 minutes in each direction to get a trailer. The place we had to drive to was a wonderful man who was helpful and very fun. Just wish a Pittsburgh location had been more helpful to find us a trailer.
