The vehicle was filthy and the tire tread was near the end of its life. I would say the vehicle hasnt been cleaned in months, maybe years. I was extremely disappointed.

Clean the vehicle before renting it out. Don't make the customer wait while you clean it, especially if there is another vehicle which is already clean. Give the clean one to the customer.

The truck had not been cleaned. It smelled of smoke. And there was dog hair on the passenger seats. But the truck was well maintained otherwise and worked well - it did the job, so overall I am satisfied.

They did not have my reservation because the previous renter failed to check in the return and the person there did not know how so they had to call someone to come and help. The person who came did not check and enter the correct mileage at pickup and added insurance not wanted without my knowledge. When I returned, this delayed the return 30 min in addition to the 30 min morning delay and I had to check in with their phone in the system as a result. They need to train employees better.

Truck was nearly new. It was great. When I arrived there was a lot of items in the back that the rental person removed. She also said that the truck had 1/4 tank. It was on empty. I filled it up. Upon return I said that it was not at 1/4 and that I filled it up. She said that people are constantly stealing gasoline from the trucks. That cost me over $100 since it holds over 25 gallons. This is a gas station. They don’t have the time to deal with rentals. To pick up the truck took over 20 minutes plus the time for them to clean out the bed of the truck. Upon return and checkin it took about 20 minutes while I waited Inside with other gas station customers waiting and being very annoyed. The truck was great but everything else was sub par. I usually rent from Enterprise as they are truly professional. This was a poor experience customer service wise in comparison. It is not the gas station attendants fault. She’s trying to do two completely different jobs at once. This is a failure by U-Haul to pick the right places for people to pick up their rentals. In my eyes U-haul is a poor experience.

The exterior of the rental unit was extremely dirty, interior of the unit was dirty as well. Please ensure your rental equipment is washed before renting to another customer, appearance goes a long way customers.

Check-in and checkout experience could be better. Wasn't very sure if the fuel has to be filled up. As you are charging based on miles, can you not add fuel cost as well so that person need not fill up gas before handing over.

The truck was clean enough but could have been cleaned on the outside as well. The bed as well as the outside was filthy. Pickup location had rude staff and there was no communication about the lockbox for the key. I was never given a code to return the key to the lockbox. The truck was low on oil and washer fluid, and had some problems idling. Renting from previous locations The truck was in good condition, topped off fluids with a full tank of fuel, whereas this truck had half a tank. Not everything can be perfect every time, but it seemed like there wasn't any effort for the price of this rental.

in the documents I was given the wrong amount of fuel, because of this I had to fill in an additional 25 gallons of fuel, which is quite expensive. Ended up spending a lot of money.

I was directed to the wrong location. The U-haul person was trying to do all U-haul business on a cell phone. was hard to understand U-haul personnel should have a computer to make check in and out faster and should be able to speak and understand english

Pickup was a little confusing, no one spoke English or asked for my ID or any information verifying I was the correct person for pickup. But U-Haul reached out to me the next day and we took care of everything over the phone.

At first I try picking it up with the app, it didn’t work. It says 24/7, but when I was there it told me I had to wait until 8am. Then I canceled to try to just set up the pick up with the person inside, and the person inside didn’t know how to do it and even had me try to do it myself on their computer. Horrible service, she was nice but why did I even had to use their computer to try to get my reservation? Then, the van didn’t even had a full tank. And it took over 2hrs for me to get the rental.

This location needs to have a dedicated person to take care of the U-haul transaction. The woman at the counter had too many customers in the mini-market to be able to process the transaction in a timely manner. I was there for an hour just to pick up the van. Luckily the return only took about 10 minutes! This is my complaint to U-Haul: My rental had a quarter tank of fuel and I was told to return the truck with at least a quarter tank of fuel. I asked if there was any documents to let me know how much to add to cover about 100 miles - no, was the answer. So, I put fuel in and ended up returning the van with a quarter tank MORE than when I picked it up. WHY can't you go back to returning the rental full? Trying to calculate the fuel needed when it's an unfamiliar vehicle, is an unnecessary and complicated process that can easily be avoidable!!! This new policy is really not a smart one.

Have people who actually supply you with what you rented and paid for and have people not take care of their own children behind the counter but actually facilitate returning a vehicle. I was met with laziness and sheer terrible customer service. You are lucky i didnt write a review. Literally the worst experience i have ever had and will NEVER be renting from uhaul again. There are plenty of better companies out there.

The person was very surprised that I was returning a UHAUL truck. She asked me why I was returning it at their location, and told them it was the closest UHAUL to my house(one way rental). I asked them if they needed any info., and they just took my name. This was a very strange interaction, and at one point thought I was in the wrong place .The person was nice, but seemed really surprised I was returning the truck at their location.

More professional staff, clean the truck out prior to renting it and ensure there is AT LEAST 1/4 tank of gas. Not indicate in contract the gas is 1/4 tank and then cross it out on customer copy telling the customer to show a picture of gas level being below 1/4 when The truck is returned while reminding customer there is no credit for extra gas.

I had an awful experience trying to rent from this location. The workers had absolutely no idea what they were doing and weren’t able to help me at all. I had to personally go behind the counter and do the entire reservation myself. This experience has made me question whether or not I will use U-Haul again. Somebody needs to go train the workers on how to properly set up a reservation.

When I was contacted by this location I asked if coming inside was quicker or using mobile pick up. I was told mobile pick up. It didn't even work so I had to call customer service and NO answer. Had to go inside and it was very quick. So why lie about it?

When a reservation is made online, make sure the vehicle is available at that location. Pick up process should be easy & seamless. Do not allow a reservation to be made if that specific vehicle is not available. Customer service reps should be trained for ease of pick up/drop off at all locations. Pick up should not take two hours and multiple phone calls to customer service. Do not charge credit card until vehicle is picked up.

With so many choices in Gilroy, this location didn't have the blankets I requested, the size truck I wanted and the attendant didn't speak English. I'd use U-haul again, but not from this location.

the associate was to busy with the people that were pumping gas and so my service kept being put asside cause her priority was gas first, i would recomend to friends if its like a last resort but i would have to explain that it took nearly 1hour and a 1/2 to get my service done.

There was only one woman working at this gas station / UHaul location and she could barely speak english. I filled the truck with gas and she never checked it. I read the drop off mileage and she never checked it. She was so busy with the gas station customers, she had no time to check my truck in.

The person renting the equipment needs better customer service training. As well as the person needs to learn how to apply a U-haul gift certificate. I was rather unhappy with the quality of service at this spot.

Equipment was clean inside and I was UNABLE to pull the seat forward because it’s needs to be lubed but what irritated me was it had an eighth tank gas I mean good night it’s parked at a gas station you could’ve at least had a half a tank a gas. I did return the truck with a quarter tank of gas. Is the gas station is open late I really would’ve liked to have been able to return the truck that evening but closing at 7 PM didn’t work .

Had a lot of issues from beginning to end. I have used U-Haul multiple times but this time by far was the worst. First showed up to pick up my reserved U-Haul and gentleman and front counter tells me that their system is down and no trucks can be used today. Then the owner came over and I let her know I had a reservation. She told me it would be 2 minutes until the person comes in. This was no problem. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have gotten a vehicle. U-Haul always goes over paperwork with me going over gas etc. not this time. When using U-Haul ramp and back deck were full of leaves and debris. Rep at counter said i could bring back anytime before 1. I came back at 12:30. Same gentleman at front counter tells me it is not 1 yet so come back later. I take my wife and my new born baby to lunch to kill some time. I come back to give key back. Lady let’s me know I went a total of 11 miles and asks if I gassed up. I let her know that I was not told to do so and if so how much. She tells me half tank so I put $10 in the tank and went back in. I had to wait a while because the gentleman at front is being trained. This experience was awful. Not what I have recurved in the past. I am a store manager and I know there is no way I would have my employees treat my customers this way. The guy at the front was really rude. The lady that helped was nice just not very informative and seemed overloaded.

staff at the location were unfamiliar with the check out process as the primary business was a gas station. Had to complete check in by calling customer service rep (who was awesome!). Overall it was a fine experience but would have been better if the staff on site were better trained in the Uhaul check out process.

Girl at counter didn't speak English. Gave us a number to call. No papers to sign. Talked to manager and confirmed price. Gave phone back to her and she gave us the key. The truck was VERY dirty, inside and out. Food on floor and cup holder. Melted chocolate on floor. Outside was filthy, too. Windows and mirrors dirty.

I came to drop off and it was a gas station and I needed to drop the trailer off in order to remove the items from the truck. There was nobody to help me and I had to unhitch and move a 6x12 trailer by myself pushing it and turning it by hand. It was not good. There really was no checkin other than me getting the mileage and gas and writing it down for the cashier.

I ordered this to pickup in the santa Cruz area. Had to drive to Gilroy to pick it up. Took over an hour to get back to Felton because of traffic. Bad, bad. Should have been brought to the Santa Cruz area.
