The only glitch was when we returned the truck we refilled the gas tank completely but the destination attendant said that our paperwork indicated we only had to refill to a half tank. However, when we departed from Tustin Street in Orange we were told that the truck was full of gas and we were expected to return it filled. No problem and we're going to be return customers.

This U-Haul location is not usually open on Sundays. It accommodates after-hours drop-offs with a key drop box, but the telephone number, street address, and drop-off instructions sent by U-Haul's automated system were incorrect: the telephone number is not answered on Sundays, and the drop-off location is different from the rental contract processing location.

The woman who filled out the paperwork gave me two copies, one to give to the people where I turned it in, and one for my records. When I turned it in, they didn't need a copy. No big deal.

We were having mechanical problems with our plane so had to rent a U-Haul to get home to Sandy Valley, NV (no other car rentals in LonePine, CA) We had to sign up for the u-Haul at a True Value Hardware store and pick up the truck at a location a mile away...luckily the folks at the hardware store were able to give me a ride to pick up the truck...I appreciated their courtesy. The inside of the cab was dirty with someone else's gum wrappers in the cup holders and dirty dashboard.

First off, the man who opened up was late and when we pulled in no one came out to greet us although he saw us waiting for him. We had no idea there was a drop box since we've never traveled one way. Finally when the man came out he told us we needed to do the unhooking of the trailer and we had to park the truck. We explained to him we were not aware of that and that uhaul told us we could just drop off at the location closest. We also informed him that we were running late for our new jobs and he responded with, "I didn't schedule you." When he finally came out to the truck because we didn't know how to unhook the trailer we said we had to go and he said, "get the fuck on then." Prior to pulling up at the drop off location we had to fill the tank three times to get it to 3/8 of the tank and we made sure it was cleaned out. The day after our drop off we received an email stating that we dropped off at 9 and the tank was less then what we filled it too. So not only was he rude, he lied and is charging us about $90 falsifying that we failed to comply with uhauls policy. How can uhaul do business with people like this? I called to make a complaint and the woman I spoke with, Veronica, was also due. She kept cutting me off and had no sympathy for my situation. Once I called her out on her rudeness and he lack of good customer service she somewhat changed her attitude. As a customer who has spent hundreds of dollars on your company, I feel offended by the lack of customer service. Is this how you treat people who spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on making your company what it is? Is this the motto for your company? How do you correct shady transactions only based on your contract with these "drop off locations" ? Do the customers have no say in these charges? Does uhaul just accept these charges and penalize hard working and honest customers? I am mortified with how uhaul conducts business and I will not continue to do business with a company such as this if you do not investigate and cater to your customers.

It was 100 miles round trip from the location promised for pickup. I'm 70 yrs. old and I didn't need the extra stress on this move. Lost an entire day just driving to pick truck up. Not Happy. Saving grace was I was given extra day and miles.

I couldn't recall the address to drop off the trailer. Upon calling the Uhaul 800 number I was given the wrong address for drop off in Lone Pine, CA. You have to drop off your Uhaul at one address and then check in at another address. Strange...but everyone was nice and helpful.

Horrible person. Yelled and screamed at us. Never did business with such a terrible person. Made false charges to our acccounr, said we left trash in the vehicle. This is what we do for a living and our diriver's would never leave trash in any vehicle. was angry that the unit was left at Motel because there wasn't a safe place to leave at adress on contract.

They never have the equipment on site. I had to drive an extra 20 miles to pick up truck, and it wasn't the size I wanted. Last time I used this location, it was a poor experience again, as I had to travel 100 extra miles round trip to pick up equipment. If these businesses want to have the contract with u-haul, they should be better organized, and have the equipment that I had reserved way in advance.

Truck that was rented needed to be jump started at the facility. When the truck was stopped. it restarted at the facility. After loading the truck, it would not start. Had to have personnel from facility come out and jump start the truck again. This led to a later start than wanted and a need to keep truck running to recharge battery. Was unable to shut down truck until final destination was achieved. In the future, this facility should check the condition of the trucks to make sure they are in proper working condition.

Called a few days prior, was told ok to pick up any time during operating hours on Friday July 18th, got there at 1pm and a sign was hanging on the gate saying "at lunch, back around 2pm, had to wait 1 hour in 100 degree temps, finally hooked up trailer and left at 2:30pm

I called uhaul in Beatty Nevada prior to calling,Lone Pine. The woman at the Beatty location,which was 10 miles away verses 100 miles away) was very nasty to two people of mine that contacted her. She said she could not rent me a truck because she didnt do paperwork.... The people in lone pine were very helpful. I arrived @ 4:57 and the lot person stayed late to get me a truck.Awesome!!!!

slow! separate pick up and return locations

Being a small town renting is a little difficult as the equipment is stored about a mile from the rental stand due to computer network access. Lone Pine does not have broadband available everywhere. So, done to the lumber yard, pick out your rental, down to the hardware store to complete the contract and payment then back to the lumber yard to pick up your rental.

The original pick up location in Bishop, CA was 90 miles closer than Lone Pine. I did not learn about this until the day before. Not only was it inconvenient it cost extra money and time. With more notice, I could coordinated the transport and saved time, money, and hassle.

However, we couldn't close the ramp after we loaded the truck and had to call UHaul to help. The repairman knew before I said that we couldn't open the ramp, that that was the problem. So, this must common issue and should be taken care of-- lubricate itso it is ready. Having to wait for the repairman meant that we couldn't drive back u til the next day and really messed up the plans. Although we were allowed to bring the truck back later in the day, I think that I should have a partial refund for all the stress related to having to get a repair on a new truck and having to make changes in my return schedule. Pls see if this is possible-- thank you.

Please check rentals for proper operation. The air conditioning was not operating at all for the rental period. This was very uncomfortable since the high desert was on my route.

Be clear that you have to go to a separate location to pick up paperwork BEFORE going to pick up the trailer. There is no computer at location of equipment. Therefore, I was 45 minutes late to my destination. (I was 5 mins early to pick up my trailer that I thought was already arranged since I clearly gave the information to them twice in advance.) I had to give them the information twice the day I picked it up as well. John was very nice and did his best as well as the employee that hooked up the trailer. That leaves the lady in the office.....................

Trailer door was hard to open and close and did not have a locking mechanism on for receiver to stop people from stealing it. Recommendation is n/a because there are no other uhaul sites for 60 miles.

Gardners True Value 104 S Main St Lone Pine, CA 93545 Was inconvienent becuase you paid at one location and then drove a couple of miles extra to pick up the uhaul. whole experience was time consuming and that time ate into my rental time as well as personal time. Staff was great though A++
