JEFF SCustomers should be told that they will need to provide 2 contacts that can answer the phone. I didn't even know this was a self service location. …and the person the agent called told me the u haul agent who called, was curt and abrupt.
James CThe U-Haul App was down and there was nobody at the U-Haul counter that day to assist with picking up the truck. After a few calls and an hour later, I finally identified the truck for use. I went to obtain the key from the lock box, but to no avail. Another call and several attempts again failed. The call-center representative assigned me to another lockbox, and it allowed access to the key for a different truck. On my way after 1.5-hours. Never again at the Furniture and More Store.

Dennis DI normally don't write reviews but my interaction with the young representative was so uncomfortable. The representative was not helpful and abrupt in his conversation with me. When I attempted to rent a van for the first time while I was at the counter waiting, about 2 minutes passed without any comment from him. I assumed he was setting up the paperwork on the computer. He then stated that he had trouble with his internet connection and had to restart his computer. I simply inquired how long did he think that would take, he abruptly started he did not know. So I said I would return in a while. About 45 minutes later, I returned. There was a customer ahead of me waiting to get his vehicle. I asked the representative if the computer was running now, but he still had a problem. The other customer suggested I go online and make the reservation, and the representative could provide me with the vehicle. So I asked the young man, "Why didn't you suggest that." but there was no comment. It could have saved us both some time. The system was working now; the other customer received his key and left. The young man then proceeded with my reservation. It was a disappointing interaction, and if I could have gone someplace else, I would have.

Catherine KNothing wrong with this location at all. Our truck had over 106,000 miles, and had significant play in the steering straight on and was basically worn out. It was not easy to drive the truck and keep it center on the road because because of the plane in the steering.
Charles Wwhen i walked in, there was no one at the desk. i had to shout out for someone, after many minutes an old woman who worked in the furniture store finally came over and asked what i needed, i told her the uhaul person, she went and got him, he didnt say hello, wasnt friendly, just said "can i help you?" in a very disinterested way. Like i was interrupting his nap. after a lengthy process to check in, even after i gave tons of info online, i had to give TWO emergency contacts, which is STUPID. finally got the key to the truck and the agreement. The Price was DOUBLE what was quoted online. your website said it would be $41.95, for ONLY 4 HOURS. What a RIPOFF. But i had to pay an additional $39 for Mileage. I guess your stupid rental charge doesnt give renters ANY MILEAGE AT ALL. I added insurance becuase your stupid company wont allow my auto insurance to cover me, for $15 fortunately that was not too bad but that's for only 4 HOURS, so it's like $90 A DAY FOR INSURANCE. That's $32,850 A YEAR. I could buy a truck for that ! WHAT A RIPOFF. I used the truck, WHICH HAD A NON MOVING PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR, MAKING IT USELESS. I returned the damn truck and had to go thru this very ANNOYING return process, take 8,000,000 photos, of the odometer, inside/outside, becuase i guess your rental agent WAS TOO BUSY SLEEPING AND COULDNT CHECK IN THE TRUCK. OR MAYBE TOO LAZY. WHY do you make Customer DO YOUR WORK ?? I WILL NEVER RENT FROM UHAUL AGAIN. YOU SUCK!

Art TThe location and equipment were great. What I had problems with was the reservation and check-in system. It took me over an hour -- and several phone calls/instant messages -- to finally get the vehicle and start my move. The setup for picking up the truck on the app and website was not very prominent -- and it took me a while just to figure out how to start the pick-up process. Once there, I got stuck in a loop saying my reservation type had changed, and to hit "Continue" to move forward with pick-up......only to have it go back to the reservation screen and ask me if I was picking up the truck....which then brought me back to the screen saying my reservation type had changed. I finally called in, and it appears that because I didn't pick up the truck until 10:30AM (my reservation began at 9AM), that may have caused an issue? I didn't think it mattered, since I was in the window of my reservation, but the agent changed the start time of my reservation, and I was able to get to the next pick-up screen in the app. If it does make a difference what time the user picks up their vehicle, then perhaps more prominent instructions on that would be helpful -- or text/email notifications letting the user know that their pick-up window is closing. Once my reservation was re-set to the later time, it still took another 45 minutes to wrap up the process. Location services wouldn't work -- even though I checked settings and did the troubleshooting suggestions. After finally getting that to work, it took 8 - 10 minutes to reach out to my first contact. And another 10 - 15 minutes to reach out to the 2nd contact (because of my out of state license). There should be clearer information on this part of the process -- so the user can ensure the contact is available to take the call. Luckily my contacts were both available and answered the calls, but it still took over 20 minutes to complete. Maybe even come up with a different way to verify. I've rented trucks from U-haul many times over the years -- why do I still need someone to vouch for me? After all the delays actually picking up the truck, things went smoothly -- even the self drop-off process. Thanks.
Matthew BPickup process was not easy. Vehicle had issues. Wheels wobbled all the time and worse on braking. Drivers door had a hard time closing.
John MThe on-line pick up was a bit frustrating. It took one hour from the time we got there to leaving the lot. The online app didn't help with unusual situations, for example, my driver's license it out of state. ( I just moved from VA to DE 6:months ago) and the app requested two forms of ID for identity confirmation. We had to call customer service. Overall, if it wasn't for Taylor, I would have had to return home and wait the location opened at 11.
Manuel FThe lock box I was assigned failed to open. User error was not likely as I enlisted multiple people to help. Calls to U haul took more time than I thought necessary. It was well over an hour before I I reached the right person who transferred my truck to one with a functioning luck box. Upon returning the truck the U-Haul ap failed to recognize my location resulting in the necessity of contacting U-Haul once again. This time it was easier to get connected, and the contact person suggested just leaving the truck locked and putting the key in the return box.
russell wThe truck was never cleaned off of snow and ice after the snow storm. They should at least have snow brushes in the u haul trucks for this

Mark LIn all my years renting from U-Haul this was a very unpleasant experience. This on line check in (location closed on Sunday) took two hours and multiple U-Haul reps on the phone also could not help. I lost two hours of my day to do what I needed to do. I ordered an paid for a dozen moving blankets that were not in the truck and then not less than two miles of leaving the rental location the truck oil alarm and oil light came on with the oil gauge reading below low. I pulled over to check the oil level which appeared ok so I proceeded with caution with the oil light on, keeping an eye on the engine temperature gauge hoping the truck would not break down.

Danielle DI ordered blankets , which were not in the truck when I did my pickup using the app. I marked in the app I didn't receive them but still got charged $10 on my final invoice. The cab was not clean either. The truck had a tire warning as to service tire monitor system so the truck should not have been rented out. u-haul doesn't care, their care about $
Raymond VAs stated above, because of the mix up on equipment, U-Haul rep helped us out by making the return location simple and no extra costs since it wasn't our original drop off location.

Matthew HTruck was not clean in the cab or in the back. Material's left over from previous renter. Looked like trucks haven't been checked or cleaned. Took over 30 minutes to pick up the truck due to slow service.
Carissa HWhen I arrived to pick up my truck, they said their Haul guy was out and I would have to convert my reservation to an online pickup. When I went outside and started doing all of this on my phone, the site indicated I should get my key out of box#1, but I had no code. Started an online chat and realized box#1 was open, but had no key inside. Then I was directed to box#2, but that was the wrong truck. Then I was instructed to call. The agent on the phone said the truck (that was in the lot) had already been dispatched. They said the store should help me because according to U haul, they were open. I was instructed to put them on speaker. The same people that told me to get my truck online now said "maybe Miguel knows". Miguel handed me the keys 2 minutes later. I wasted 45 minutes and 25 % of my phone battery trying to get the truck that I could have gotten in 2 minutes if someone had just asked around. It made me 40 minutes late for my pickup and I incurred fees for my product clogging the loading dock.
