Denise JohnsonTruck was old, rough shape in every way, check engine light on when I picked it up, shifted hard, not an enjoyable vehicle. There were 4 other newer Fords on site and this was an 07 GMC. Location was fine I guess.
DANIEL WILSONI had ordered a dozen pads and the truck only had 2. I didn't order a cart or an appliance dolly, but both were in the truck. The trucks oil light on the dash came on and stayed on.

Adam MahlstedtEquipment -truck steering wheel was very shaky & tire sensors wouldn’t shut off - the store owner said the sensor was needing replaced. Other than that everything was great & always rent a Uhaul if I need to get anything moved/picked up. Thanks!

Erica JolliffSide view mirror was shattered when I picked up truck. Employee was friendly but said he hadn't noticed it. Not sure if previous family reported it on the online portal. When picking up at a location that is not your preferred location and 30+ miles from your residence, miles allowance should include miles to follow personal vehicle back to residence to start moving process.

Christopher FoxI never got a dolly or furniture pads, though I requested them. I’m not sure if that is the fault of the pick up location or someone else. It made moving very difficult without those things and I had chips on my furniture. I spent over 30 minutes waiting for U-Haul customer service but wa is able to get ahold of anyone so I had to pay for those items even though I never got them. I would like those charges taken off since I didn’t get them.

Dorothy SpanglerThe whole experience was very unacceptable. Customer service line were very rude and we had to wait an hour and a half to talk to anybody. Communication was poor and we reserved a truck to be picked up on a Monday and just happen to go by Ace Hardware in Jefferson Sunday evening only to glance over at the parking lot and find that there was no truck there. My husband then went into the hardware store to inquire about the truck and he was told that it was rented out to someone else and was never returned. A truck would not be available for our use on Monday and we had helpers lined up and that was the only day my son could move. And might I add that we requested H truck a week prior to the move . No one from U-Haul and no one from Ace Hardware in Jefferson contacted us to let us know that a truck would not be available. We then made a reservation for another truck to be picked up at Stokely lumber Perry Iowa on Monday morning. This was 30 miles away from where we lived and we had to pick up the truck and drive back home with it to get things loaded. We then asked if we could drop off the truck on Tuesday evening at 8 PM since my son was moving to Leon Iowa and Windsor Heights location would be much more convenient and we wouldn’t have to pay for the extra gas. I was told directly by U-Haul that yes we could drop off the truck at the Windsor Heights location and that we would not be charged anything more. Nothing was ever mentioned that we had to sign off the truck online when we delivered it back to the location . We dropped off the truck exactly at 8 PM on Tuesday evening and we were told all we had to do was put the key in the drop off box and make sure that the truck was clean and had a full tank of gas. After my husband dropped the key in the drop off box he glanced up and saw a sign that said you had to sign off the location of the truck online. Our Internet service was not good and we were unable to do it so I called the 800 U-Haul again was placed on hold for another hour and a half and then finally got a very rude lady stating that we could not drop off the truck without signing it off online and then she also told me that we would be charged extra for dropping it off at the Windsor Heights location and not the Perry Iowa location as I told you before we were given permission to do so without any extra charge. The rude lady asked me if we were still there in Windsor Heights where we drop the truck off and I said no we were on our way home and we were approximately 40 miles out of town and we were not going to turn around and come back and she told me that we had too. And I won’t repeat what I told her when she told me I had to go back . The lady was very rude she was not helpful and I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me he is going to tell you exactly the same thing that I am telling you that you have to sign off the truck online and you have to do it immediately when you drop off the truck before you put the keys in the box . Finally after another 30 minute conversation with a male he told me that he documented everything I had to say and I requested a phone call back within a 72 hour period so I could register my complaint and voice my experience with someone. My husband and I will never do business with U-Haul again. Communication and customer service was very very poor. It it sounded like all customer service people were working from home because there was a lot of loud background noise and barking dogs and I got the feeling that they did not want to be bothered at all. And yes you can post this for a public viewing because I don’t want anyone to go through the experience that we went through. Very very inconsiderate to other people‘s needs.

William SchmittMy only issue is with the reservation process. The folks at Stokely lumber were great. The issue I have is where I had to pick up the equipment. It was way out of my way. It would be less of a shock if I knew it was even a possibility to go that far to pick up the equipment. I FULLY understand how the process works and the location is not guaranteed but the options presented to me when reserving don't mention a maximum distance, that is determined fully by Uhaul. We disagree on how far is convenient. I made it work of course because I had little choice but if I could have found equipment from a competitor I would have cancelled. Not likely to find anything with one day notice on the last day of the month. I reserved my equipment weeks ahead of time and understood my preferred location may not be where I picked up my equipment but it was much farther out than I anticipated. I didn't plan for that much time - 2 hours back and forth, to retrieve equipment. I likely will not rent from uhaul anytime soon due to how this is handled and because of the stage of life I'm in...three kids on college...we rent a uhaul some 6-8 times a year... Thanks.

Tyler HuntingtonI literally had to stop in the middle of the road to see if I had the right location because the place looked closed, and I didn't see a single U-Haul vehicle anywhere on the premises. Finally after figuring out I was at the right location I noticed two trailers sitting off to the side of the lot. The guy that helped with the return was a great guy, fortunately. The whole return was a fiasco. I was originally told I could return the unit anywhere near my destination. But once I got to the original return location this turned out not to be true. The first young man came and grabbed my keys and went out into the downpouring rain with me to begin the check-in. But once we came back inside another guy said "do you have your contract? You can't return that here." I explained I was told I could return it anywhere. He said, "Your contract said you have to call to get a location." But I explained I was TOLD otherwise. The guy sent me away and said they were overrun and beyond capacity. So after calling I found I had to drive an hour away in the downpour. Dumb process considering the information I was given when I picked up the unit.
