Being a long time customer at uhaul I am very disappointed with the fraud that is going on. I had a bad feeling when the GPS brought me to a grocery store to pick up my truck. Back in August I rented a uhaul from this location. The truck that I was given already had damage on the top left side of the roof. I went to go rent a truck from uhaul in Germantown this past Monday and was told i was on E alert????? Never heard of E alert didn't know what the lady was talking about. Do you know these people are trying to charge me for the same damage that was already on the truck before I rented it. The guy never gave me a paper to mark any damages like you do at Budget. Ive been renting from Uhaul for years they are always my go too and I have never did any damages and always make sure to return the truck how I receive it. But never again would i rent from this company. Beware of the fraud and scam that is going on. Mind you i never received a call from anyone saying i did any damages to the truck. Why am just hearing about this in October?????? This is a big surprise to me. You cant trust anyone now days not even these companies.

GLORIA KThe owner was polite and knowledgeable about the service. He was kind enough to let me use his dolly, since I paid 7.00 for one and UHaul did not have it available for me. I recommend this site, but the UHaul Company sucks.

Wenceslao AA) The "rules" regarding gas should be explained when picking up the truck. There was only a quarter tank of gas for a 10 ft truck to go 75 miles. I was never told it had to be returned with the gas gauge at the same level when it was picked up. Usually vehicles are full of gas and the instruction is to return it full of gas. How am I supposed to know how many gallons I need to put into a truck in order to return it to some "zone" around 1/4 tank. B) I should not be responsible for moving the truck in and out of their very full and tightly packed parking area. C) I should not be responsible for lifting dolly's on and off the truck.

Patrick PThe owner was very friendly and it took very little time to get the truck and be on my way. However, the back of truck should have been swept out and the windshield cleaned on the inside. The truck only had 5/16 of a tank, meaning I had to detour to find a gas station during the move. (I didn't want to chance running out of gas.)

William AEverything was so-so, interior of the cab was dusty and smelled strange. after doing everything in the app with the guy in the shop asked me to do it all over again. I felt that was rude, moving is stressful enough as it is. When he asked for pictures of the gas gauge mileage after I already submitted it online I just set the keys on the counter and left because this move was such a disaster and I was completely exhausted. Also I think the float valve in thefuel tank should be checked, I refilled but the gauge changed depending on whether I was on an incline or not.

Jeff BLocation did not have any moving blankets therefore some of my personal property received minor damage during the move. The personnel did not let me know to check the trucks fuel gauge to make sure it was at 15/16, or for damage before leaving. I returned the truck with the same amount of gas, 3/4 tank, and incurred a fuel charge for 6 gallons. The personal at the pick up location should go over the contract with the customer to point out these critical items. Or the customer should receive a draft contract at time of order so that they know what their responsibilities are. There is not time on moving day to stop and read a multi-page contract.

denis dIf you are a female don't rent a uhaul from here. They will lie about how much gas is in the tank and then charge you $80 for a gas fee even though you return the vehicle with the same amount of gas. They treat you like you are some stupid girl. Obviously they demean women as a regular practice. These illegals fees for bogus charges should be a message to anyone not to ever rent from them. Horrible service.
Pamela TThe check in process was extremely cumbersome. It's easier to fly on a plane than to rent a truck from U-Haul. I had to call customer service FOUR times to complete my pick up. Customer service was amazing! An easier check in process would be helpful.
John SRental worked fine, however the floors in the cabin were not clean. They were sandy and it was clear that they were not cleaned from the previous rental.

The guy at the counter was rude! I want $100 reimbursement for trouble with vehicle and rude interactions between myself and the guy at FDK groceries

David TOrdered 5 dozen blankets. They only had 4 dozen. And they weren't on the truck. Cashier told us we had to go into the stock room and load them up ourselves. I asked for reimbursement for 1 dozen since I already paid, no luck. This place is a dive and their customer service was terrible.

ERICADAWN BAt drop off location, I had to go back to the truck and take a photo of the mileage and a photo of the gas gauge. The shopkeeper was managing a retail store and couldn't leave it unattended. I understand but found it annoying that I had to do this for him.
Jon PThe drop-off process was a nightmare, the drop off location told me after I had already perked a truck and car hauler that they didn't have any space and needed to take both to a different location because they had no room. I had turn sound in a tight space with no assistance from any staff at prospect Blvd location. They provide were able to provide me with an updated contract saying the drop-off location was the location at 7th st in Frederick. This location did the same thing and then told me they talked to the prospect Blvd location and that I had to go back there. The owner of that location also said they called me, which they didn't. I was then given the location I dud drop it off and again had to turn a truck and car hauler around without any assistance from staff on site. The 3rd and final location did take the return but was thr only one that actually looked like it didn't have any room. I highly doubt I will be using uhaul for rental purposes in the near future if ever based on what I had to deal with today.

Kevin CThe information I received from Uhaul indicated that I would be able to access the vehicle via my phone. You actually have to go into the grocery store to get the keys to the vehicle. They made it easy to do once we figured that out.
Marc CI do not understand why I was charged for 2 days rental. I picked up the van at 2pm on 12/4 and dropped it off at 6pm on 12/4.

Mark BGood afternoon. I am following up with your customer service department regarding the following concerns experienced with the U-haul 20 foot truck rental: 1. The car tow dolly had to be replaced during the trip because the rear driver's side tail light fell off. It was duct taped by the Frederick pickup location. We were told it would be fine. We were sent initially to a bogus address and then sent to another address to get the tow dolly replacement. We were routed an hour out of our way and had to drive the vehicle being towed. Thank heavens we had an extra driver. 2. Two tires needed to be replaced. We waited over 2 hours (with a 14-month old child) along a busy highway for a service/repair employee to replace both tires. (Please see poor condition of tires in attached photos). 3. The blind spot mirror fell off during the trip. (Huge safety issue) 4. As a result of the combined delays, we missed the window to cancel our hotel in Nebraska and were charged for the room. I am requesting you waive the rental charge or offer a significant rate reduction. Realizing there is always a potential for equipment problems, I believe our issues far exceeded that which one should experience. I would prefer not to dispute the charge on my credit card, contact the Better Business Bureau or provide a negative review. I would prefer to provide a review that reads that while there were problems, U-Haul stood by the customer and made things right. I look forward to hearing from you.

Daniel PGentlemen has such a strong accent, when I called about return time on my rental. He told me 8 PM. Then when I showed up to return my rental I could not understand what he was trying to tell me regarding my extra charges. However, a UHaul rep via telephone was able to explain to me what he was trying to tell me. Thanks for your help.
MICHAEL AThe truck we had selected on the app (26ft) was not the truck we received (20ft). Owner at the shop made us change the location of our drop off. Owner did not check/walk around the truck with us or give us any directions on what we should be doing on the app. The trucks alignment was super bad! Very unprofessional and disorganized environment. We will not be renting from U-Haul again.
Mallorie WThe online rental process was easy however I feel I was overcharged. I rented at 8pm one night and returned at 11 am the next morning. I was charged for two days rental and insurance but did not have the truck for 24 hours. In addition, I tapped off gas tank using 6 gallons during this gas shortage but only drove 25 miles. Very disappointed. Will not recommend UHUAL.

Kenyon BThey charge me $8.50 for fuel charge, even though I returned the truck with more gas than they originally gave it to me. Is not that the $8.50 is going to brake me, but the principal. I feel cheated and the FACT that I gave them more gas and was charge is not right. I hope no one else is goi g through the same thing.
