Have the truck at the expected location. I booked a truck in Apex and when I arrived I was sent to a different location. If u-haul's answer is that a previous customer returned the truck to a different location than you expected that should not be the next customers issue. You should move the truck.JEFF H.

I was charged a "SafeMove" insurance fee of $14 even though I declined it. If you are going to apply the insurance fee then don't ask and just apply it.Jeffrey C.

Overall the truck was great. The previous driver left garbage in the truck to include plastic wrap, receipts and Doritos or some kind of chips all over the passenger seat. It was an easy clean, but you asked.Lynn D.
The clerk, while doing his feeble best, CANCELLED my reservation because I didn't pick up the truck at 8:00 AM! No text message, no phone call. This nullified all the time spent arranging for a 'convenient' pick up and delayed meeting the movers by 30 minutes (which was an added expense). It was my understanding that the requested 6 hours would begin at the time of the pick up whether it was 8:00 AM or any other time that morning! To assume my reservation could be cancelled without any attempt to contact me is ridiculous! On top of that, picture this: 30 minutes later I finally get into the truck and find there is LESS THAN A QUARTER TANK OF GAS! (At this point, I'm wondering if the movers are going to wait even though they were rightfully charging for the time...) I went back into the office compalining there was little gas in the tank and 'Mr. Feeble' said, 'Yeah.' Since this location was a gas station, I asked if he would fill the tank and I would return it full. 'No. I can't do that.' This was a horrible experience with U-Haul and I'll not be using any of their products again. PENSKE, on the other hand, is an awesome provider that I've had great experience with! (Shame on me for thinking U-Haul would compare! ðŸ‚)Erin S.
Check in process was poor. The app didn't work, very frustrating. The rep , Sid. Was late opening shop, which added incredible stress to my day. He mentioned that drop off would be "open ended" but then I got a text stating to drop off at a location ~25miles away. Had to spend extra time on phone with uhaul rep.Timothy R.

I was really disappointed with this Uhaul experience after having several good ones elsewhere in the US. I made my reservation a few weeks in advance for a 1-way, 26ft truck. The day prior to pickup, I received a text telling me to call to confirm my reservation. I call, and the young man on the phone informs me that they won't have a 26ft truck for me. I'm awestruck and wondering how this can be since my reservation was a few weeks old. Long story short, he tells me they will have it at a neighboring location that's a mile away. Okay - less convenient but not unreasonable. I call this location to confirm and was told that they don't have any 26ft trucks on-site currently as they are waiting on one to be returned. I tell the guy that I need it by 7:30am per my appointment and he says that â€œhopefullyâ€ it will be returned by the time they close that night so they can leave the key in the Dropbox, otherwise the earliest I can retrieve the truck will be 10:00am, when they open. I'm pretty miffed but what am I going to do? The day of the move comes and we go to the new pickup location and there is no 26ft truck on-site. Instead, they have only one 10ft truck. We drive back to the original location we were supposed to rent from and they have three 26ft trucks, 2-3 20ft trucks, and several others of their smaller models. We go inside and talk to the guy, and he tells us that the 26ft trucks aren't available for one way trips. I'm frustrated because why then was I allowed to originally make a one-way appointment from this location? I then have to suggest taking a 20ft truck instead and create my own solution to the problem. This apparently was feasible, but I don't know why the on-site rep wasn't able to figure this out the first time we spoke on the phone. We get the truck and head about our moving day. Once we finish everything we needed to do, we set off to return the truck. The drop location wasâ€¦ different. The guy on-site didn't make any effort to assist with closing the books on the transaction, but instead just kept reassuring me that it was â€œokay to leave it.â€ What? I don't know this guy from Adam, and why am I going to trust him to do the right thing? I try to use the mobile app to finish the transaction and the â€œshare my location featureâ€ doesn't work on my phone. We try it again on my fiancÃ©'s phone and it doesn't work either. I go inside to finish the transaction, and the on-site rep again says, â€œno worries, I'll take care of it.â€ What. The. ****. Don't get me wrong; the guy was as nice as can be, but this is a business transaction where I borrowed a $30k+ vehicle. I want to ensure my rear is covered. I tried calling customer service but was on hold for about 25 minutes before saying, â€œforget it.â€ I ended up just taking photos of the vehicle and of the drop location to email customer service as a way of proving that the vehicle was dropped and out of my hands. One last time I tried to use the app, and again it didn't work. I played with it for a minute more only to then discover that my original reservation was never cancelled by the on-site guy at the pickup place. I do this and get the confirmation that my $200+ reservation charge will be refunded to my card. â€œGee, thanks. I really wouldn't have missed that extra $200 while I'm in the process of moving and have a million other expenses.â€ This whole situation was a cluster, and it's a shame because I've historically had good experiences with Uhaul. The last thing I'll add is that the one way drop off location I ended up getting was about 10-11 miles further away than the original spot I was going to go to, so that also added extra fuel costs and miles that I had to pay for. Again, this was all just so disappointing. Would not recommend.James M.
There isn't much in the way of a sign designating the office location. One can see the trucks there, so you know that a location is there. So advice is place a sign at this location as well.KAREN M.

I did an online order. The truck was bigger. I ordered a dolly. Didn't have one in truck. My movers has to wait while I I drive 10 miles to get one. Cost me an extra 100 for movers. I should get a refund. CarolCAROL B.
He charged me for me loading my car 29.00 something he never told me also truck was filthy inside food wrappers under the seat inside cab was just duty also he doesn't open until 9.30 in am most people traveling to move want to get a earlier start didn't have my truck on site until day before states kept telling me I will find made me very nervous not good at all uhaul told me I was paid in full but he said I owed him the 29.00 and he couldn't tell me why my son loaded my car on trailer he didn't so why was I charged paid a lot of money to moveSANDRA B.

The first 26 ft truck rented was new and in excellent condition. The second 26 ft truck rented over 43,000 miles on it, and I had to clean some sticky substance off the cup holder in the cab. Not really a big deal. What was a big deal on the second truck was the fact that neither 12 volt outlet worked. This meant that I could not use my personal Garmin Nuvi for navigation nor could I use Google Maps since there was no way to charge my cell phone. I also rented two 6x12 trailers. The first trailer was fine; however, the second trailer had a broken hitch. This was not discovered until we were, thankfully, already at our destination. The hitch would tighten initially but loosen as soon as you started up. When our moving services guys went to un-hitch the trailer from the truck, the simply lifted it off the ball. It was completely loose. It was only by the Grace of God that it did not come loose over very rough roads on I-20 and the 1,400 miles I travelled.DAVID J.

Inform your customer service representatives to inform customers of the truth. I was told by one of your customer services reps that if I rent a uhaul at 7 pm on the 26th and return it around midnight on the 27th, I would be charged for 1 day use of the uhaul. This is clearly untrue as I picked up the truck at 7:18 pm on the 5/26/21, returned it at 11:17 pm on 5/27/21 and was charged 2 day rental. If I had known this beforehand, I would have used the truck during the day on the 27th for my move.Pranay I.

We picked up our auto transport at this location. After already having to delay our move by one day due to other issues we had with Uhaul, we were about to load our car onto the transport when I noticed it had a flat tire. The worker was super helpful, but there was only so much he could do. We had to call Uhaul and see if anyone was available close by to change the tire. Nobody was close by. After already waiting over an hour and a half, we were sent a text that said it would be another 90 minutes. We had a schedule to stick to and it got totally ruined. I know for a fact that our auto transport had been sitting there at that location all day, because we had dropped our car off in the morning and it was the only one sitting there. Unfortunately we didn't know the flat was there until we were ready to use it that afternoon. Maybe the tire was already flat, maybe it wasn't. But it is a frustrating thought that that could have potentially already have been there. Like I previously mentioned, the worker at that location was awesome and I know it's not his fault. He ultimately saved the day by getting ahold of his supervisor who is certified to fix Uhaul equipment. I had to personally reach out to the original guy Uhaul had tried to send to tell him not to come because it was taking too long.Hannah G.

The person that took my reservation over the phone didn't informe me that the truck wasn't going to be available at the location I requested. I had to wait in line for 2 ours for them to tell me it wasn't there it was Instead 18 miles away and had to pick it up. I'm very upset w Uhaul and will never use it again and won't recommend it.Roy P.

It would be exceptionally helpful if refrences were checked when the reservation is made and not during pickup. Because of this the pickup took me MUCH MUCH longer than would have been nessesary if I'd been able to do it at a time when my employers offices were open, most of my personal contacts would be awake or I had access to my passport.Jared D.

Disclose the fee for returning past 6:00 pm....nothing was said about a $20.00 charge and it was added before I had a chance to email the information when we turned it in after 6. We followed the instructions for turning it in after 6, but got charged anyway. The inside of the cab was very dirty...grimy seats and dirty floor mats. Agent in the office never got out of his chair; didn't walk us to the Cargo Van or check if we had any questions about it....just handed us the keys and said where the Van was located. No receipt at the time of renting.....later sent to my email....ended up twice as expensive as it should have been with the added charges.Jana C.
